  • did anyone else see that creeper lady near the shop just staring at Benny and Eve while they were walking

    ?

  • I love Maeve Binchy's books!

  • Great cast!

  • That's Colin firth!

  • The accents! They're horrible!

  • I love this movie. I can't even count how many times I've seen this.

Now, if I could only find my own Jack.

  • Thank you for uploading this movie. It is my old favourite

  • Cool movie! Thanks for posting!

  • worst Irish accent ever.

  • Alan Cumming is super hot!

  • the latin professor looks really authentic

  • I love this movie! Thanks for posting it!

  • i thought they met nan on university

  • @ruelf21 They did, but I suppose they thought it'd be less complicated to just have her in the film from the start :)

  • @TwilightStarrr123 yes.. and the ending is not happy in the book, right? but it's more interesting to watch something with happy ending..

  • @ruelf21 The ending is actually happy enough. That idiot nan got what she deserved anyway. I personally liked the ending. It wasn't a disney fairytale ending for sure, but it was a happy one nevertheless. The title of the book really showed its meaning in the end.

  • this was my fave book. pity on me i just discovered teh movie by now..

  • Inistioge is one of the best places in Ireland! Love it!

  • some ppl say tht i look like minnie driver

  • I read this book when I was in high school and I loved it!

  • how can u love that terible book ? :O

  • I definitely prefer the book version of this! Nan doesn't seem glamorous enough here and Benny just isn't right! Still a good story though!

  • Is that Colin Fith with the bead at 4:18? He's one fine man...

  • @sparkl1nwat3r that is colin firth,im stating to really like him!

  • I want to visit England, Scotland and Ireland - the three countries on my wish list. Apart from wanting to visit other European countries, such as France, Spain, Italy, etc, those can wait but for now...I'm keeping my goal list to visit those three amazing countries.

  • @sparkl1nwat3r That's crazy...you just mentioned all the countries i want to visit...hopefully i'll be able to do it one day

  • @sparkl1nwat3r Why it rains alot and its pretty depressing most of the time. I should work for our tourist board. HE HE.

  • I fricken loooove Eve. She was such a sweet person and a great friend.

  • I went to Ireland when I was 16....2 years later...i still miss it :D

    I wanna go back!

  • Chris O'Donnell is a great actor but I dont understand why they didnt just get somebody who has an irish accent to play the part considering this is a major requirment of the role

  • Well done on putting up very good quality clips. Was in Inistioge for the first time last weekend, it really is beautiful. Just on small point, you have indicated that they went to University College Dublin (UCD), they go to Univerisity of Dublin, Trinity College (TCD) not UCD.

  • I have read CoF many, many times and this is my first time watching it! Glad I first read it though. The book is much richer isn't it? And somehow I saw Sean Walsh as a sandy-haired scrawny guy with bad skin :D

  • oh my god!i cant believe that im watching circle of friends right now.i can still remember the time when im just reading it.now im already watching it too!!!

  • I'm going to watch this regardless, so thanks for posting it! But I was wondering how big a role Colin Firth plays...

    :D

  • Thats a communion day not a confirmation day hahaha

  • I'm studying this book for my leaving cert and the differences between the book and the movie just doesn't add up, Nan and Benny shouldn't meet till the accident happens and Benny and Eve became friends at bennys birthday party, where is all that gone?:S

  • I have read the book, and now watching this for the first time. And yet, i feel like this is gonna be something so different. Why in hell Nan is already their friend? She suppose to meet them in an accident when they are 18!

  • This is one of my favorite movies. Thanks for sharing. :-)

  • Can someone PLEASE help me with something that's doing my head in? When I was about 3 I woke up late at night from the sofa I'd been sleepng on. My Dad was watching this old black and white movie where this

  • Oh, Ireland broke my heart, I have recovered but one part of me will be there forever.......

  • love this movie!

  • I've just been an au-pair in Inistioge (Knockglenn in the movie) for four moths. I thinks it's one of the prettiest villages I've seen in Ireland. Very pitoresque. I love Ireland!

  • the film is good but i have read the book and comparing the two there is so many difference. by far the book is better...

  • @emilynici08 I LOVE the book! I love Maeve Binchy :) I'm watching this for the first time and already thinking "that's not how it goes", but gonna try to forget I read the book. I've been watching Irish themed movies all day, I so want to move there!

  • @trish36oh lol i'm still looking for my jack foley :) been living in Ireland for 18 years :/

  • @sashhi25 should be lots of good looking boys there!

  • Nan is so beautiful

  • I am similar to Benny in so many ways.

  • I have been to ireland it is the best place ever!

  • I love Irish accents!

  • i recently finished the book.. awesome !

  • ButI just discovered a change in the first few minutes...in the book Nan didn´t grow up in the same village with Benny and Eve...

  • I read the book several times, didn´t know there was a film! Thanks!

  • EEEEE-YOOOOOOO... Alan Cumming is so creepy in this... He plays an extremely convincing creepy guy.

  • sean walsh in this is just as creepy as he is i the book

  • so not biutiful women...it is horror!

  • I saw the movie first and than found out there was a book. So I read the book, it's wonderful. It was definatley surprising how different the movie is from the book, the movie doesn't represent the book that well i think. But judging them by themselves, I can still say I like this movie because its a good story.

  • I LOVE this book, especially the ending - Benny is so much stronger in it. The movie is great but not up to par with the book. Maeve Binchy is a fabulous storyteller. She had a cameo in "Tara Road".

  • @njpavid22 I just finished reading the book, I read it after seeing the movie. It surprised me the differences there were. The ending through me off a little for some reason. But like you said Benny is so much stronger. I was happy for her:) but Jack..wow

  • my brother has a scarf just like theirs! i thought they'd gotten ridden of them!!! lol :)

  • I love this movie so much :D

  • oh, thank you for this film!! can't believe it... love it.

  • @pepsiimax02 the accents aren't a bit like real irish accents, but still an ok movie

  • i fell in love with ireland when i first saw that movie ten years ago, thx so much for posting this :) love it :)

  • "The apple of my parents eye; an only child, but my mother fed me like I was two." LOL

  • the book is much much better.

  • not sure how i feel about this movie...already so many differences from the book

  • Only in the movies could Minnie Driver be the plain chick....

  • i just love this movie!!! i'm kinda Benny!

  • i like creepy shauwn walsh am i weird TT-TT

  • i've been searching for months for this movie! why didn't i think of youtube sooner? thanks for posting it!

  • Thank you so much for uploading :p xoxo

  • one of my friend is an extra in this movie hehehee

  • Colin Firt is so young here, hahaha

  • The book to this movie is just phenomenal. I recommend it. I have read it several times and am actually re-reading it right now.

  • it showed my skool

  • the books amazing!! god, hope movies as good x

  • @LaurenDemp it is!!!!!!!!!

  • I just love this movie

  • thanks for posting, much appreciated

  • it's gilbert from anne of green gables :D

  • I love this movie and I love the book. Both are wonderful and heartbreaking. : D

  • I love this movie, wish i could find somewhere to buy it! Thank you for posting it! :-)

  • Amazon has it

  • lol disco in the church at 1:00

  • This movie's quality is wonderful on my computer screen.. thanks for the show... I love Ireland.. the way 'me' Great 'Gran' (born in 1881) used to speak of the ghosts, goblins, and fairies that her Gt. Gran actually believed in religiously speaking! Way back to the late 1700s in Montraith, Laoghis (Queens) & another branch at the Parkstowne House near Horse and Jockey in Co. Tipperary. I can only dream!

  • I love this already!!

  • thanks for the movie.

  • I just read this book. I read all in one night it was incredible. I very like move. But sad that in movie wasn't car crash and that nenny was from one town. ;]

  • Mustache? Mustache....

  • ARGHHHHH ALAN IS SO CUUUUUUUUUUTE

  • 5:10 I have one of those scarves I do, lol.

  • Love this movie! Absolutely love it! I knew nothing of it, but I'm so glad I watched it. Thanks for the upload! <3

  • im reading this book in school =P love it

  • Seems like a good film to me. :)

Having read the novel though, I have to say I preferred it, especially since the film differs in so many ways.

I suppose since the book was so lengthy, some details HAD to be removed, otherwise it would have been a 3 and a half hour long movie!

  • ahh it's been over 10 years since i've watched this movie with my sisters as a little girl :) glad to see it uploaded here. now time to refresh my memory hehe :)

  • what happened in the end in the book?

  • she and jack went their spearate ways

  • Where I can download this film???? :}}}

  • I have to learn an Irish accent for my school play, so my director told me to watch this movie lol I can't do Irish for my life, so this'll be fun...lol

  • how many parts are there?

  • ive read the novel and totally liked it loved it and got hooked with it... i hiope its as good as the book..tnx for the download...

  • I also read the book but the ending of the film is totally diffrent from Mauve Binchey's novel A Circle of Friends. Did you like the ending in the book?

  • thanks for the upload.

My granny is in this movie briefly as a nun. was brought up in inistiogue, such a beautiful place.

  • omg thank you for uploading this!

ive have been trying to find out the name of this for a long long time =]

  • This is one of my favorite movies! I like Chris O'Donnell & Minnie Driver very much & I hope to visit Ireland someday soon... ;)

  • I live in County Kilkenny, Ireland.. Just wanted to remind everyone that the entire film was filmed here, including the "Dublin" scenes. Knockglenn is actually the village of Inistioge, County Kilkenny. The "Dublin" scenes were filmed in the cities of Kilkenny and Thomastown, also in County Kilkenny. There are a few shots of Dublin to place them there, but no action is filmed there. Come visit us in Kilkenny!

  • Its absolutely beautiful from what I can see.

  • very cool, thanks :)

  • Think i will visit Ireland soon!!

  • And your welcome if you do! =D

  • @grofstofman Do :) Its the best! Im from Dublin:)

  • @PainfullyWitty it's just BEAUTIFUL!!!! I will have to remember that and come visit!

  • @PainfullyWitty thats cool

& im just curious would you say that the accents put on by the actors are accurate to real irish accents? (because i know most of the cast is not irish)

  • @PainfullyWitty

I'll always be grateful to the movie for giving Minne Driver her break into Hollywood. An "unconventional" beauty who would never have been given a break otherwise.

  • Ehrin,

    thx for the upload !!!

    Nice quality.

  • Minnie Driver can do 'plain' and 'red hot' in equal measures as she pleases.

  • thank you so much for uploading it i've been wanting to watch it for ever

  • i've been hoping to watch this movie for years ever since i read the novel by Maeve Binchy.

  • Minnie Driver plays brilliantly in this movie and the other cast as well

  • i think they needed to make nan friends from their youth to enhance the betrayal as the novel is very long and very layered i prefer the book a 1000 over. Nan ought to be blond, and more manipulative. they could have done better to show the other characters: mother francis, kit, simon even jack and aidan were flat. but Sean, Eve and Benny were dead on, even if the film wasnt. in any event, books are nearly always better. I enjoy the film with no relation to the book. thanks for posting it.

  • i love the book too. i dont understand why nan isnt blonde in this movie but its still beautiful.

  • thanks so much for this.

  • dont be rude xxshinbobxx! its a fantastic movie!!!

  • A lot of scene is change and not being included in the movie. Its better in the book. Like the how benny and eve became friends in benneys birthday. How they grow up together. Accident happen in their 1st week in Dublin for college. Thats the time they meet nan because she is part of the accident and jack the one help them in hospital. Then nan introduce them to the others like aidan, brian, jonny, sean and Carmen, Sheila and rosemary and others. heather, little cousin of eve. and others

  • I agree,the book is a lot better.

  • I agree. The introductions to the characters and how they meet and became friends was better in the book.

  • thankyou soo much..

  • you have no idea how hard i have looked for this movie... i love it and thank you

  • Thanks so much for posting this! You are awesome :))

  • And that looks more like a First Holy Communion than a Confirmation in that first scene. FAIL

  • The book is amazing and this film just ruins it. Story line is almost completely different form what I can see

  • I absolutely Love this movie!!

  • This looks good, why have i never heard of it before. Thanks xx

  • I am reading to book now, for a 3rd time.

    I love the movie.

  • i prefere the book.... its much different because benny only met nan at uni and nan had blonde hair etc

  • I got the book. The writings giving me a headache. I'm going to the beach for a week next week. I'll read it then :) I noticed that the red dress Eve wears to get money for school is the one that Benny wanted in the book? Am I right?

  • and they only meet in dubling, when joseph dies. ist it rigth?

  • nan meets benny when there is the car crash that kills frank higarty and injures eve

  • Hm, I'm not sure I follow..

What did she get at the castle?

    65 pounds?

  • Oh I loved this movie. I wish I had friendships like this.

  • I know, seems like it doesn't exist anymore. They seem so innocent back then.

  • They don't even exist now =/

  • This was my favourite film as a kid! im now 20 and i can understand it better, have been lookin to watch it for ages so thanks so much for posting :)

  • Oh, they should've done this movie in Gaelic!

  • I think in that time period they recieved the those sacraments at the same time,,, not like now

  • They most certainly did not. Communion and Confirmation were a couple of years apart. I made my First Communion when I was 6 years old and my Confirmation when I was 10. Those were the Rules in the 60`s. I was born in 55 in Dublin and raised there.

  • What ever happened to Chris O'Donnell? He's a good actor but I haven't seen in much lately. He's good in this and the movie with Al Pachino.

  • OOOH, Ciaran HInds was GORGEOUS.

I prefer him as Caesar in "Rome" though.

Nothing like a maturing man !!

  • Whoever gave me a negative rating on what I posted here is obviously sexually derived.

  • One mistake at the beginning though. It wasn´t their Confirmation Day, but

    their First Communion Day.

Sorry to be such a sticker. !!

    Thanks VERY much for uploading.

  • lol i m nt a christian n cudnt have cot tht mistake but i m a stickler jus like u lol relate completely!!

  • Thanks for your compliment. I appreciate it very much.

  • Heathen invaders- the English!

  • omg i just love this movie thanks a million for this... love you love you love you.....

  • thank for up this i like this movie

  • Love this movie. :)

  • love that film, although the ending wasnt as captivating as in the book (but it didnt hurt to watch another version of it)

all actors were great and Minnie was simply adorable. yrs after she was actually paired with Colin Firth in another film "hope springs" was it?

  • thanks a mill for uploading :)

  • absolutely brilliant a film that you would never grow tired of watching

  • I am in love with this film. Gorgeous setting and great movie. LOVE it.

Hope this doesn't get deleted :(

  • thank you sooooo much!!!

  • bless you, I really love this movie.

  • THANKYOU!

  • Thank you for this!

  • the english/brits always pay attention to details. All the scenes , hair styles , clothes are true to the time of the film. This may sound shallow but it adds to the enjoyment of the film.

  • ditto

  • Love Colin Firth's mustache! :-D

  • thanks for posting this babe

  • oh my goodness!

you are my new favorite person! :D
