@melosher When he first came in the league in 2006..the Ravens were basing the 3-4 with Kelly gregg still at nose tackle. Trevor Pryce and Haloti Ngata were ends that year. But since 06..Ngata has been moved around up front because Gregg is on his way out if not already) and Pryce was release..and Ngata has put on about 30 more pounds.

Ngata is the best DT ever to play in the NFL and thats saying a lot because there were so many great DTs in the NFL.. Every year the NFL gets stronger and faster so not disrespecting the past guys but they wouldnt last in the NFL right now. I feel sorry for who goes against this MONSTER

@TrueGreatness73 Ngata is no doubt a great player, but the best DT ever, that's a bit of a stretch. How bout John Randle, Cortez Kennedy, or Bryant Young. And that list doesn't even include the older players from before I was watching football. Ngata has the talent to be with these guys, but he has to put in the many years of consistent play before we start talking about best ever.

IMHO the best DT is Warren Sapp. That guy was a beast in Tampa Bay!

@ just because ngata doesnt have the numbers in some games doesnt mean hes not one of the beast DT ever.Did you know teams watch film and prepare for him?? Reason why warren sapp made tons of plays "statistically" is because he was not accounted for during films because teams thought that they had good enough linemen to block him and they obviously were wrong.Ngata is DOUBLED team all the time and that opens up gaps for other players.If he wasnt doubled teamed he would break records easy already

@TrueGreatness73 I think he is the best right now, but to be the best DT ever, you have to be a top player for 10+ years and he's only been in the league 5yrs. And about him being doubled all the time, All Great DT's, get doubled and tripled all the time. And Trust me Warren Sapp, or any of the great tackles I previously mentioned all were fully accounted for by offensive coordinators.

@musicofthesoul85 O linemen use to be 260 back then, now O line men are a hundred pounds plus. The game has heavily evolved since the past hall of famers. When warren was around yes they were bigger then that and warren sapp is still one of the greats to ever play the game. I am saying right now guys are bigger stronger and still debating about "smarter" then before but I am not taking anything away from the greats like warren Sapp.
