I have heard far better recent tracks than this (quality and production wise), but given the technology available back when this was written, it's a master piece, and Scot Project not only was a pioneer of hard trance, but is still a mainstay in the genre. For what this track represents, it doesn't get much better than this

well nowadays most people use vsti, thats just a virtual synthesizer or an instrument that can be played on your computer without even owning an instrument, but hardware is always better, and the mixing desk is just a mixer with channels that play different sounds in each and you control the sounds from each channel with the volume, pan and cutoff and record it etc

Hardware is generally better, by definition, however it's not always the case (considering that even 'hardware' synths these days are becoming more and more digital).

And VSTI analog modeling has come leaps and bounds in recent years. Yes, I will admit it'll be a long while before a VSTI can pump out sounds as robust and crisp as a Virus, but then again, v-station costs less than $300 (or can be had free) compared to $4k.

From a price point, hardware isn't worth it for a little bit more.
