  • Thanks for all these tips. Very useful. A question about big men who do the pick in the pick and roll. What attribute should I look to know if the player will make good picks ?

    Thanks again, from France !

  • Um there's really no attribute for setting picks. However, you do want to look attributes that help the picker to finish whatever you're trying to accomplish. If he's rolling, then you want to look at the Dunk, Layup, Shot Close/Inside, SIT atts. If he's poppin, then look at his Shot Mid/3pt, Ball Security (so he wont get ripped), etc.

  • You know what else I love about this? It not only explains how to do well in the game, but in real basketball as well. I showed this to my friends because when they ball they have no basketball IQ what so ever so they only can dribble pass and shoot. When they saw this a few times, and after I added some more explanation we used it in real games, and I admit that we play more as a team just by doing different pick and rolls. Thanks!

  • i have a problem...at the official matches...i know how to do it..but i have the version for ps2 and i play it on pc....i have to press B2 or B3 and i doesn't let me to put a keyboard control instead

  • how do you do the up and under for pc?

  • how do u do that cp3 runner? i neva do it.

  • You mean at 0:58? That's his floater. Hold then release the Right-Thumbstick away from the goal (camera relative) WITHOUT hold turbo during the shot attempt.

  • when trying to blow past your man from a stand still position, do you hold turbo before moving or a split second after moving?

  • No. Press Sprint directly after you make the move. Then sporadically tab it during moves or attemtps toward the goal. Stay in control.

  • tnx again! are you going to do guides for other sports games (madden, mlb)?

  • Zihin Master I know you get positive comments about your user created instructional videos but your work is truly exceptional. Keep up the good work. Too bad 2K or EA do not view your videos. You have helped instruct their consumer community on how to better enjoy their products.

  • D"Antoni's spread pick and roll offense. Billy Donovan of Florida uses a similiar system but uses the power forward more at the top of the key.

  • when i play against a user- they on-ball d, and go around the pick and lock-on d my point guard basically countering my pick-n-roll, any way to avoid dat? ur a genius by the way lol

  • Not really understanding what you're saying. Is the opponent going Under the screens or Following you (going On Top) around the screen?

  • yea like following me...to the point where the "pick" animation doesn't occur which pretty much defeats the purpose of calling the play. and another thing, how do u use a player like cp3 i use floaters and jumpers yet they all end up in the bleachers

  • Sounds like you need to slow down and let the pick work. Run shoulder-to-shoulder with the picker. This way, if the onball defender doesnt want to get hit, he'll have to go all-the-way around the pick which leaves you wide open after the screen. If the pick-defender steps up, then your teammate (the picker) should be open for a moment. Be able to recognize defensive rotations (counters shown in this vid) so you'll have an advantage.

  • when doin a floater with a guard like cp3 make sure you hold the shot stick while he's executing......sometimes not doin this could result in missed layups on fast breaks

  • how do u block out for a rebound again, for ps3? also, how do u do floaters and special moves like that, thx for everything man

  • Block Out = L2 (PS3)

Floater = Right-Thumbstick away from basket without holding R2 (Sprint).

Refer to the NBA 2K8 video tutorials or NBA 2K9 in-game tutorials for other special moves.

  • Left-Trigger + A-Button (Pass) to throw alley oop. Refer to Part X of the NBA 2K9 Video Tutorials to learn how to execute the alley oop in particular situations.

  • hey zihin, can you explain putback slams, im not sure how they happen off of missed shots or how you control them

  • Putback dunks are the hardest thing to execute in the NBA 2K series. The timing and position are extremely, extremely hard to get down. Reason being, putback dunks rarely happen in a real basketball game, lol. But to do it, be in a quality offensive rebounding position. When the ball comes of the rim, hold the Right-Trigger and simultaneously move the Right-Thumbstick in the PowerDunk position (camera relative).

  • It's like grabbing a rebound but substituing the Y-button for the Right-Thumbstick. If done properly, the offensive player will perform a putback dunk. This can be done from outside the paint as well but the player must have a high enough OREB/DUNK/VERT/HANDS (major atts) to pull it off.

  • what sliders are you using? Are they all default? If not...what adjusments were made to the sliders?

  • Practice! Practice the Shot Timing of the players that you like playing with or going to play with.

  • how do you make the shots go in more often

  • loved that man,by the way do you use default sliders?

  • Awesome videos, can't thank you enough for making this game so much more enjoyable. Question: Is pick and roll effective against the zones or do you prefer using other strategies to pick apart the 2-3? Its just hard against certain teams with certain teams without good perimeter shooters.

  • splashes for yo toruble

  • Nice, im gonna try that play.

  • its a shame guards do not rotate properly on 2K9

  • SPLASHES!

  • when ever im in a game situation the CPU/AI always uses MAN TO MAN.

why dont they ever use zones etc.

  • Zones aren't very effective in the NBA due to NBA players being able to shoot, pass, & rebound so very well. If a zone is used in a NBA game, it's in a very, very specific instance (poor shooters on the court, no post threat, tired defense, etc) and not for extended periods of the game.

  • nice, i didn't know about the squaere up till now!

  • or just tell me

  • Can you make a video on the signature moves i can do it but it comes fluke
