would you mind explain the significance of each step? I'm doing exactly the same step but not able to clear the back ground with getting rid of the hairs :(

Hi, i have watched this and tried over and over again but when I try to erase the background, it erases everything. I have followed every step and my subject is a little girl on a white Muslim cloth background. Please tell me what I am doing wrong :)

"just click until it's....and it's gone", makes no sense @3:21-3:22.

I find this process extremely frustrating, in that when I following the steps to outline the hair, the painting overlaps the hair and the outline is very erratic. I've watched the tutorial many times and I assured myself I wasn't missing something. Help ...

If the photo your working on has a busy background, such as trees, flowers furnature, this process will be frustrating. The background brush works best when there is alot of contrast between the subject and background.

@pizelli - To select the background: try using your magic wand tool. To select more area, use the shift key or alt key to deselect.
