I test drove a Fusion SEL w/ a V6 yesterday, it was silver with black leather, nice car but it felt like it had a lot less power then my Camry V6. I found a fusion sport on cars dot com that I am going to go look at Monday, if it has power comparable to my Camry I might be driving it home.
With all the trouble toyota has had with faulty designs and mis information one would likey be wise to avoid the cars. The Ford Fussions have been quite upto date in quality although Buick has done well.
What an ugly car. Ford USA should import Ford Australia's Falcon XR6 Turbo or GT. Worked well for Pontiac with the Australian designed and built Holden Monaro (Pontiac GTO)
i read that if VIN says POC it's all-wheel drive. anyone know about my 2011 with VIN saying including letters POKC? dealer said it's AWD, but i can't find anything on window sticker indicating that.
if Ford continues on this road i will definately buy....it might be awhile though until my honda dies but im happy for the americans for building a decent car finally. even though these cars are considered foreign up here in canada its the closest thing to domestic and im sure there are economic spin offs for canadians too.

dude, ive own hondas my entire life and own one right now.....the fusion ranks up there with the best. i think you should calm your ass down and stop getting emotional over cars. you mentioned german cars....BMW 3 series are the worst of the bunch. go to bimmers web site and see for yourself. the blogs are filled with BMW owners who are in agreement that one does not buy a bmw 3 anticipating a flawless car but in fact EXPECTS a major failure sooner or later. hey, i am 1/4 german too!
..point i was really try to make is this....lets not pretend hondas are perfect cars. My current honda is 2008 model. The problems are as follows: flickering instrument panel back lights (warranty claim denied), driver passenger side seat uncoupled (warranty covered), passenger side window slow to close (warranty denied), windshield washer spray failure (warranty denied), driver side interior door panel is fading...colour changing to white (claim denied). My car is 29 months old, dude.

my gf has one identical to the one in the video. only flaw isthe Sport comes standard with the huge gawdy faux chrome grille. why all the mgr's seem to be going with this trend is beyond me. makes any car look cheap. solution? get an unpainted version of the grille and have it painted the same color as the body. my gf did and it looks tuff. an amazing transformation. too bad the car companies don't realize sometimes less is more. btw, the car is fast and handles amazing! good milage too.
Definitely a great improvement over the fusion 2006. I will wait for two years before buying one because I had a bad reliability experience with lincoln brand in the past . I hope this fusion is solid and reliable car ,we have to see how it will run five or seven years from now. I think the price is very fair
@regisiam My mom has the 2010 sel I4 and with 14,000 miles, it's still good. Very solid, comfy, quiet, and great on gas. Only thing she had to have done, was have the transmission re-programed.
@giannial1985 Transmission re-programmed for free? My experience with Lincoln stealership is that they charge you a very painful price. The smart fortwo fuel efficiency is about the same as fusion hybrid wow bravo to ford. I will wait for a year before baying a Lincoln or a ford again, I want to be sure that American cars becomes more reliable and trustworthy.When I put more than 30k in a car I want to last at least 5 years pain free. @regisiam The fusion doesn't go to a Lincoln dealership. My mother takes hers to a Ford dealership. Sunnyside Ford in Holden, MA and they're very good with the cars. It's under warranty. It's only a year old now. So it was done for FREE. The car hasn't had any other trouble. I have a 1999 escort that was my mothers that she bought in 2000. Again, it's never broken down or had any trouble. Don't forget that Ford used a lot of Mazda's technology and engines in there vehicles
@regisiam Hey I have an 06 and no problems whatsoever with it. I obviously changed the thermostat when I did my antifreeze flush, but no problems whatsoever on it. Just regaular maintenance. Very good product from FORD. Why spend more money on a Camry? It's just a myth. Camry interiors aren't that extravagant anyway.

In fact the Chevy Volt's battery's cost was able to be cut in half completely due to the fact that the facility they are making it at is not directly under GM thus not being run by the union.

People seem to think Unions close plants then again people gotta ask them selfs look how many NON union plants have closed as well. People have the right to have a real voice in the work place. My mother has a 2010 sel 4cyl. Very nice car. It reminds me of the accord with it's ride and handling, but the quietness of the camry. Why get those two when you can get it all in one with the fusion. Plus, I see a lot more fusions then any of it's competitors. :)
@nipmanga the new Hyundai Sonata's front end is a bit much. The car smiles at you and the car is way too round like a Toyota. The Fusion looks much more aggressive and has better lines.
@FordGT8806 Will you please read some reviews written by auto experts before making assumptions? I like Ford cars, but they are made in Mexico. Hyundai Sonatas are made in the US. Sonatas are better than Fusion in almost all categories, including the exterior design (subjective, but still, more people prefer Sonata's design).
it fits me perfectly, not overpriced like Honda's and Toyota's with a 6 cylindar engine and not like a piece of crap car you wouldn't want to be seen driving like a Chevy Cobalt

Ford is now headed in the right direction, has been for the last couple of years, and the new Fusion and Taurus are a testament to how an American car company can succeed when they put innovation, value, and CUSTOMERS before profits. @UATimka The fusion isn't really American. It's a re badged Mazda 6 and with different styling. Shares the same engines with the 6 too. Ford is half Japanese. Just like my escort is the same as the Protege. I happen to find the engine strong in the 2010's and they are quiet like the camry and handle like the accord. I like all three, but just saying.
Best thing Ford has made in a long time. I think it's the first Ford in my life other than suped up Mustangs that has actually made me interested in a Ford.
Can an 06 fusion/milan owner tell me if the moon roof can open fully (not just tilt up) i test drove a car today and when i pushed the button on the roof it only tilted up. Thanks
@thatslife4388 should be a two way switch. if you push the front side of the button it will pop up. push the back side and it should slide back into the roof

Ford distinguished itself with the first car made by a production line assembly (not even mass production). It was nowhere close to making the first car. The first car was actually made by the Germans.

Look up Nissan Cube, Honda Element, Scion XB, and 2010 Acura TL... All those cars are way uglier than the Fusion in my opinion.. I even have Japanese car fanatic friends that agree with me on this..
The Fusion is manufactured at Ford's Hermosillo Stamping & Assembly plant in Hermosillo, Sonora, MEXICO, where the similar Mercury Milan and Lincoln MKZ are also built.
@globalk100 You also got to take in to account how many car brands ford use to own. They owned Aston Martin, Volvo, Jaguar, and Land Rover which were all luxury brands and they just recently sold them to focus on the Ford name. So technically Ford has been selling really nice luxury cars for some time now. They had no need to make a "Ford Luxury Car" until now since all four of the brands above filled in the gap for them. This is just the beginning of what Ford can do when focused on FORD only.

Look at the taurus that thing is hideous.the ford focus rs is the best car they have right now and its a hatchback. they sold alot of trucks no doubt but there suvs i dont know about that one. the expedition and explorer arent geat in my opinion . Hyundai suvs are better than fords right now santa fe tucson and veracruz better than all ford suvs .

@mixedguy i guess its all just a matter of preference when it comes to style but i have seen a ford edge and it looks to plain to me the tucson has a more modern look to it . Put those suvs next to a veracruz its a no brainer in my opinion. U cant honestly tell me this ford fusion looks better than the new sonata. genesis better than taurus. The sonata has direct injection engine the only car in its class to have that. Hyundai is innovative and ford has alot of catching up to do
@globalk100 Your right it is just preference. I just feel the SUVs you named look similar to Toyotas in the past so they don't really stand out to me... To be honest I like the way both the Fusion and Sonata look although I feel the Sonata resembles a Lexus too much which is not a bad thing but just gives me the "I seen this before" vibe. I agree the Genesis looks better than the Taurus when it comes to the exterior but I would say Taurus has a better looking interior.
@globalk100 It's impressive that hyundai has that engine and are innovative but so is FORD... The Ford Fusion Hybrid is the best Hybrid in it's class because of its seamless transition between electric and gas engines with no stutter like all other hybrids. It also handles better than any other hybrid in its class and has the two LCD screens built in to the instrument cluster that teaches you how to save even more gas... No other car in any class has this and thats why it won car of the year.
@mixedguy When the sonata hybrid comes out which will be real soon it will imo be better than fords. Its using a lithium polymer battery and no other car in its class has that not even the fusion.
@globalk100 Well we'll see what happens when that comes out but for now the Fusion Hybrid is best in it's class. Ford also won "Best New Technology" from the Automobile Journalists Association for it's Ford Sync Tech in the Fusion and other Ford models.. They also won Best Car GPS technology at the CES show with there new "My Ford Touch" tech. Can we just agree that both Car companies bring good things to the market. Competition is good because it brings out the best in all these car companies.
Kia cadenza is better than this ford fusion . It shouldnt take ford this long to make quality cars they started long time ago theres no excuses for the lack of quality over the years.

Like I posted below.. Ford does not need Mazda anymore since the Ford Euro Team are now developing cars world wide. Ford of Europe are known for making cars with good Fuel economy and good handling. The 2012 Ford Focus is based off a Ford of Europe chasis and the next Ford Fusion will be based off designs made by Ford of Europe.. Oh and by the way the Ford Focus and Fiesta were part of the top 10 selling cars in Europe.. So yes people do buy american brand cars out side USA!
Did you know FORD wanted a partnership with MAZDA? and it says that ford borrows heavily from mazda. So they were in partner ship for 40 years. and Mazda didnt like it. so they broke partnership with FORD.

@jalclk1244 the Fusion still looks much better, drives better, has higher cabin tech, sync, sony audio, my ford touch, better materials, 5 star crash tested, a best in class hybrid version, best in class sport version which the Sonata can't match, and a reliable nameplate. Ford is implementing ecoboost turbo charging on virtually all of their vehicles by 2012. Last time I checked the Ford Fusion is outselling the Sonata, but whatever you like, I will never own a Korean car.

@jalclk1244 - I drive a Kia Spectra and it is an awesome car. I also love the way this Fusion looks and drives - it is damn nice. Hyundai and Ford are both 2 great companies. Please don't throw Ford into the mix with GM and Chrysler....Ford never took 1 taxpayer dollar during the bailouts of 2008 and Mulaly and company have really turned the boat around in Detroit for Ford. Give credit where credit is due.

my gf has one identical to the one in the video. only flaw isthe Sport comes standard with the huge gawdy faux chrome grille. why all the mgr's seem to be going with this trend is beyond me. makes any car look cheap. solution? get an unpainted version of the grille and have it painted the same color as the body. my gf did and it looks tuff. an amazing transformation. too bad the car companies don't realize sometimes less is more. btw, the car is fast and handles amazing! good milage too.

Definitely a great improvement over the fusion 2006. I will wait for two years before buying one because I had a bad reliability experience with lincoln brand in the past . I hope this fusion is solid and reliable car ,we have to see how it will run five or seven years from now. I think the price is very fair

@regisiam My mom has the 2010 sel I4 and with 14,000 miles, it's still good. Very solid, comfy, quiet, and great on gas. Only thing she had to have done, was have the transmission re-programed.

@giannial1985 Transmission re-programmed for free? My experience with Lincoln stealership is that they charge you a very painful price. The smart fortwo fuel efficiency is about the same as fusion hybrid wow bravo to ford. I will wait for a year before baying a Lincoln or a ford again, I want to be sure that American cars becomes more reliable and trustworthy.When I put more than 30k in a car I want to last at least 5 years pain free. Thanks for the feedback

@regisiam The fusion doesn't go to a Lincoln dealership. My mother takes hers to a Ford dealership. Sunnyside Ford in Holden, MA and they're very good with the cars. It's under warranty. It's only a year old now. So it was done for FREE. The car hasn't had any other trouble. I have a 1999 escort that was my mothers that she bought in 2000. Again, it's never broken down or had any trouble. Don't forget that Ford used a lot of Mazda's technology and engines in there vehicles

@regisiam Hey I have an 06 and no problems whatsoever with it. I obviously changed the thermostat when I did my antifreeze flush, but no problems whatsoever on it. Just regaular maintenance. Very good product from FORD. Why spend more money on a Camry? It's just a myth. Camry interiors aren't that extravagant anyway.

People seem to think Unions close plants then again people gotta ask them selfs look how many NON union plants have closed as well. People have the right to have a real voice in the work place. I blame the top dogs for running things into the ground. I'm glad to support my Union Brothers & Sisters by buying American & making sure I buy Union made cars.

My mother has a 2010 sel 4cyl. Very nice car. It reminds me of the accord with it's ride and handling, but the quietness of the camry. Why get those two when you can get it all in one with the fusion. Plus, I see a lot more fusions then any of it's competitors. :)

@FordGT8806 Will you please read some reviews written by auto experts before making assumptions? I like Ford cars, but they are made in Mexico. Hyundai Sonatas are made in the US. Sonatas are better than Fusion in almost all categories, including the exterior design (subjective, but still, more people prefer Sonata's design).

Ford is now headed in the right direction, has been for the last couple of years, and the new Fusion and Taurus are a testament to how an American car company can succeed when they put innovation, value, and CUSTOMERS before profits. @UATimka The fusion isn't really American. It's a re badged Mazda 6 and with different styling. Shares the same engines with the 6 too. Ford is half Japanese. Just like my escort is the same as the Protege. I happen to find the engine strong in the 2010's and they are quiet like the camry and handle like the accord. I like all three, but just saying.

credit for the first car does go to the germans, Benz to be exact. He only invented the original "modern car," powered by gasoline. The original automobile, was built in 1672 powered by a steam engine.

The Fusion is manufactured at Ford's Hermosillo Stamping & Assembly plant in Hermosillo, Sonora, MEXICO, where the similar Mercury Milan and Lincoln MKZ are also built.

@globalk100 You also got to take in to account how many car brands ford use to own. They owned Aston Martin, Volvo, Jaguar, and Land Rover which were all luxury brands and they just recently sold them to focus on the Ford name. So technically Ford has been selling really nice luxury cars for some time now. They had no need to make a "Ford Luxury Car" until now since all four of the brands above filled in the gap for them. This is just the beginning of what Ford can do when focused on FORD only.

Look at the taurus that thing is hideous.the ford focus rs is the best car they have right now and its a hatchback. they sold alot of trucks no doubt but there suvs i dont know about that one. the expedition and explorer arent geat in my opinion . Hyundai suvs are better than fords right now santa fe tucson and veracruz better than all ford suvs .

Put those suvs next to a veracruz its a no brainer in my opinion. U cant honestly tell me this ford fusion looks better than the new sonata. genesis better than taurus. The sonata has direct injection engine the only car in its class to have that. Hyundai is innovative and ford has alot of catching up to do

@globalk100 Your right it is just preference. I just feel the SUVs you named look similar to Toyotas in the past so they don't really stand out to me... To be honest I like the way both the Fusion and Sonata look although I feel the Sonata resembles a Lexus too much which is not a bad thing but just gives me the "I seen this before" vibe. I agree the Genesis looks better than the Taurus when it comes to the exterior but I would say Taurus has a better looking interior.

@globalk100 It's impressive that hyundai has that engine and are innovative but so is FORD... The Ford Fusion Hybrid is the best Hybrid in it's class because of its seamless transition between electric and gas engines with no stutter like all other hybrids. It also handles better than any other hybrid in its class and has the two LCD screens built in to the instrument cluster that teaches you how to save even more gas... No other car in any class has this and thats why it won car of the year.

@globalk100 Well we'll see what happens when that comes out but for now the Fusion Hybrid is best in it's class. Ford also won "Best New Technology" from the Automobile Journalists Association for it's Ford Sync Tech in the Fusion and other Ford models.. They also won Best Car GPS technology at the CES show with there new "My Ford Touch" tech. Can we just agree that both Car companies bring good things to the market. Competition is good because it brings out the best in all these car companies.

Like I posted below.. Ford does not need Mazda anymore since the Ford Euro Team are now developing cars world wide. Ford of Europe are known for making cars with good Fuel economy and good handling. The 2012 Ford Focus is based off a Ford of Europe chasis and the next Ford Fusion will be based off designs made by Ford of Europe.. Oh and by the way the Ford Focus and Fiesta were part of the top 10 selling cars in Europe.. So yes people do buy american brand cars out side USA!

No it's all their cars, they are cheap cars, built from cheap matrerials and offer no cabin tech or renouned models, thats why people buy them because they are cheap...I agree with you about dodge, but not Ford, they have the same resale value as Honda and Toyota and are unsurpassed in quality according to Consumer Reports, Motor Trend, Car and Driver, and JD Power and Associates

Ford Fusion V4 HP 175, 22 City/31 highway. New Sonata V4 HP 200, MPG 22 City/35 highway. LOL The Hyundai Sonata has more power, and its even more fuel efficient. Hahahaha Hyundai hater, and lets wait for the Turbo charged Sonata which will blow the ass of any V6 Fusion. Ford=100 years of history=not much better than young Hyundai motors. ;)

@jalclk1244 the Fusion still looks much better, drives better, has higher cabin tech, sync, sony audio, my ford touch, better materials, 5 star crash tested, a best in class hybrid version, best in class sport version which the Sonata can't match, and a reliable nameplate. Ford is implementing ecoboost turbo charging on virtually all of their vehicles by 2012. Last time I checked the Ford Fusion is outselling the Sonata, but whatever you like, I will never own a Korean car.

@jalclk1244 - I drive a Kia Spectra and it is an awesome car. I also love the way this Fusion looks and drives - it is damn nice. Hyundai and Ford are both 2 great companies. Please don't throw Ford into the mix with GM and Chrysler....Ford never took 1 taxpayer dollar during the bailouts of 2008 and Mulaly and company have really turned the boat around in Detroit for Ford. Give credit where credit is due.
