Giving those signatures to someone at the wardhouse is like walking into a catholic church located in ohio to give the altar boy a letter addressed to the pope. It's pointless. Like taking marriage, an institution of religion, and telling religion that their institution is being modified and there's nothing they can do about it? In their relation to the government and country, gays gain no right or advantage by having the name of their union be called the same thing as the religious call theirs. To gays it's just a name. Prop 8, and gay marraige is an attack on the family. Something the LDS faith declares as the primary and eternal unit. You can't have that unit in a homosexual relationship/family.

OhioMoreMan, why would you be thrown in jail? You have a right to disagree, just not to impose your religious beliefs on a secular nation. Marriage is a secular institution - it has deep religious meaning for a lot of people, but atheists and people of non-christian faiths can get married, so using the bible is hardly an adequate litmus test for policy. Reproductive arguments are also bad - you wouldn't deny marriage to the infertile. There's no particular reason for gender to come into it.

I was discussing this with a fellow christian, and you kinda have to look in deeper.When it says "as with womankind" it means "don't lay with a man as a woman substitute." this is speaking against gross guys who are so sex starved that they'll rape another man just to feel good. With actual gay people who want to get married, they are being with members of the same sex because thats what they want and that is what feels right to both of them. It is a consensual, loving partenership.

I feel pity and sorrow for these people and those like them who must take time from their lives and families to hatefully and scornfully protest a church of God. If these men truly wanted to deliver these signatures they could easily have put it on paper and mailed it to SLC to the leaders of the church. Visitors are welcome when they are coming to learn about the church not protest. I wonder why people of other faiths and religions are not being attacked so openly.

That would be like going to Missouri to give them to the president. And of course they are not welcome. It says visitors welcome, not protestors. Would you let someone visit your home if you know they were going to protest you and cause a disturbance? I think not.

This manifestation by the church was done by the leaders only, not a revelation from God! This church began with the revelations from God and now His spirit is no longer in this church. The reason why is because, I too am still a mormon but the way I see people and how they are in the church is very very sad! A lot of pride, a lot of backbiting, a lot of sins e.g., sleeping with other people and make their spouses think that they are too honest, a lot of prejudices against colored people, etc.

I'm a homsexual, and grew up in the mormon church. The church headquarters are in Salt Lake, and you were trying to deliver signatures to a temple, and a wardhouse. Those have hardly any affiliation with headquarters. There are also no preists in the church (notice how the official laughs when you say preists.) (cont.)

The LDS church operates like any other church. Giving those signatures to someone at the wardhouse is like walking into a catholic church located in ohio to give the altar boy a letter addressed to the pope. It's pointless. The reason they wouldn't let you into the visitor's center is because you had a camera, and were obviously going to create a small scene. I totally agree with what you're doing, but next time get some bite behind your bark. You'll look better.

Apparently, these guys don't understand the concept of private property and the right to exclude. I am sure if Mormon missionaries went to a gay convention to deliver signatures asking gays to stop being gay or to stop trying to get married, they would be welcomed and brought onto the grounds of that convention location.

Like taking marriage, an institution of religion, and telling religion that their institution is being modified and there's nothing they can do about it? In their relation to the government and country, gays gain no right or advantage by having the name of their union be called the same thing as the religious call theirs. To gays it's just a name. To the opposed religions it's a fight to protect a sacred institution from a government that should never have had a say in the it in the first place.

I was raised religious (mormon) but! By the time I became accountable as a reasoning adult and thought for my-self, scientific thought and rational evidence led me to believe otherwise. The concept of "Freedom From Religion" is more important than "Freedom of Religion" The first protects the individual, that latter, the institution, but if you reverse the order, you give the institution license to oppress.
Life does not have to have 'God' to give it direction just a bit of imagination and love!

This is a ploy to try and create the illusion of refusal.If these retards had the actual intention of delivering a letter to the leadership of the LDS church why would they need a huge blow up letter, and why would they try delivering it to the LA temple and not to the church headquarters in Salt Lake. The answer is it is a stupid publicity stunt that was poorly thought out and made the two hosts look like fools.
