@headstock48 ha!.. it took me forever but I finally got it figured out! my guitar instructor told me its all about how you hold the pick... I was coming straight down on the strings with the pick but, if hold it at an angle it, your speed will increase. Holding the pick at an angle means, rather than facing the point of the pick directly at the guitar, face it towards the neck of the guitar and use more the side, (wide part) of the pick.

I love how raw this video is. Solo, small "stage", emotionless crowd (sigh), yet he still performs with the same talent and intensity of an entire band. It's kind of funny actually if you look at this and then watch a live show a decade later and see how large and crazy the crowd is. I hope these people appreciated what they witnessed

If you're basing it solely on the fact the band's name is Dave Matthews Band then you don't know everything. The band really never had a name to begin with, when someone needed to know what the band was called the sax player Roi Moore just spontaneously named it after the lead singer. So I suppose Steve Miller and Zac Brown likes themselves too much as well.

Dave is a bit under rated as a guitar player yet we guitarists in the world realise all too well that he is a fine player and extremely talented compositionally and in guitar mechanics.

This song is so poignant and from what I was told it is about his sister who was killed by her husband who then shot himself. Dave is a deep guy with so much pure expression through his music.
