You will be amazed at how the tone changes when you change guitars - the amp is very sensitive (in a good way) to the guitars wood and pups. For this tone, you just need a MIJ basswood w/maple neck Floyd Rose Fender Hot Rod Strat with Dimarzio PAF pros in them:)

Man that has been a debate with other You Tubers.. I too thought it was behind the nut on a non Floyd guitar (mine is a Floyd, so it sounds like sh*t). I have been told that the guitar used by Ed was the "shark" guitar, and he rakes the strings behind the bridge...

Its a made in Japan "Hot Rod" Floyd Rose strat...with Dimarzio hum and 2 Fender singles. They dont make them anymore... you can pick one up on eBay for about 2k. Plays like a dream!

All i know is that if you watch the Van Halen method guitar instructional video the guy in the video, says that Eddie used a Les Paul on You Really Got Me and Devil.. You can tell on You Really GOt me because of Ed using the toggle switch at the end of the solo.

No, he rakes behind the nut on a guitar (perhaps the shark) that does not have a locking nut Floyd Rose... sounds just like it if you try it on a guitar with no locking nut.
