Ehm, the would be "Metroid".

They shortened it 'coz {Metroid: Other Metroid} would sound stupid. If it be a reference to the endscreen of {Metroid} (Yes, the first one) in which it says: "THE GALAXY MAY BE INVADED BY THE OTHER METROID. PRAY FOR A TRUE PEACE IN SPACE."

At least, that the most commonly accepted theory.

I think this game takes place BEFORE the 1st metroid game because in metroid fusion samus recalls that her first CO would, at the end of a briefing, say "any objections lady?"

It's not a Metroid Prime game. DUH!!!! The Metroid Prime Series ended (or so we think) with Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (or, if you prefer, Metroid Prime Trilogy). Oh, and this video is somewhat low resolution.
