Charley Pride is a very good, down to earth person. I had the pleasure of attending a small private get-together once following a show in Meridian, MS in the late '70s. He was simply one of the guys and preferred to not have special treatment or attention when off stage. On stage, he sort of lost track of the show and was speaking to the audience from his heart - then he apologized and got back to his music. He teared up and said it was good to be back home again.
