Went out this morning (Mon.2/27/12) in NY on the lake Erie shore. crows are starting to migrate back north.( yea!) saw probably 50 or more. Shot 11, missed a few easy shots and some hard ones. Was a strong south wind and Temp. in the high 30's. they can really use that wind to their advantage but that's what makes it fun. Maybe next weekend will be better yet.

Yes, they can be as destructive in large numbers, as many birds are. Yes, I would kill other species for nuisance control as well. I'll answer several of the questions that seem to be popping up over and over again.
--No, we don't eat them. We shoot them to protect pecan crops, which they will completely destroy if left alone. They are in the truck because we move them out of sight of the farmer.
--We are shooting 12 gauge shotguns, with standard target loads, 7.5 or 8 shot. The guns are Brownings and Benelli's.
--The electronic caller is a Foxpro Fury, with Foxpro and Johnny Stewart sounds playing.

Man good job on this hunt. Those crows didn't know what to think. The guy on the crow call sounds very similar to how Jerry Tomlin blows his Faulks c-50 crow call. Good video

@SquishIT100 No you dont eat them, crow are one of the biggest pest to grain fields. They are frowned upon in america. There is no limit on these birds, shoot as many as you want. You kill them to lower there population because they are no good for nothing. Kill them for fun.

@ColinBobbyDartford dude i have never even killed a crow lol, i hunt ducks, these animals are unbelievably smart. later in the season they can differentiate the difference between decoys and a real duck. They can start to tell if its a call or a real duck making the noise. I understand you shouldnt kill animals for fun, but what else are you killing crows for, if you dont eat them?? Same with coyotes, you may get 20bucks for a pelt, but the time in skinningit isnt worth 20$

@Fungames778 where i live in pa it a unlimit harvest almost year round season. They even used to have bounties on them in like the 50's. My grandfather used it to help support his family.
