hand clapping is in praise of a performance and is intended to compliment, IDOLIZE and magnify the performer. the practice of hand clapping in worship services is offensive to God. It dampens the spirit of worship of Jesus and magnifies the Preacher or whoever they are clapping for. I have been to churches like this. The people with their hands in the air and dancing and giving testimonies and word of knowledge, when you get to know these people, I mean really get to know them are typically not as spiritual as they seem to be.

Worship and praise for God differs according to individual and culture. God does not hate Country, R&B, hip-hop, or jazz style worship and praise. That is the hang-up of human beings. We are not the same. God created diversity so only he knows. Let us work out our own salvation and let others do the same. Some people shout when they feel God's Spirit. Some people sit steel. Let's not get caught up in judgment and risk choking someone out of their Christianity.

This is lunacy. NO WHERE in the Bible do your read of people behaving this way. The Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit is the true Word sent by God NOT a bunch of jumping up and down. This behavior is identical to the dances of people who practice Voodoo they even clap their hands the same way and play the same repetitive music. Praise the Lord through obedience to his Laws and Commandments.
You are wrong because it is stated in the Bible that David danced and rejoiced. David even danced out of his clothes. In the New Testament, it is written that when Jesus healed a man of his sickness that he got up and rejoiced. We do not know how they rejoiced, but when the Holy Spirit comes upon you then you praise God in the way he moves you. The Bible does not detail how you are to praise but when you allow the Spirit to come upon you then you let him have his way.
This statement is so unbiblical it's not even funny! What Bible are you reading folks and why does everyone use the David defense for "shouting". Rejoicing the Biblical way is different than what you see in church. In church we act like God hit us with a ball of power to make us dance or fall out. Not so! And nowhere in the Bible does it teach us that when the Holy Ghost comes upon us it moves us to praise or dance! Study the Word people and get rid of that TRADITIONAL mind set!

That is the problem, we often weigh everything by experience, but the last time I checked...when the Holy Ghost comes upon us it is suppose to give us power Acts 1:8 and guide us into truth John 16:13 not make us dance, fall out, bump our heads against the wall and etc.... Totally agree! I use to have that traditional mind set too. Once the music started and it is "high time" I would get to bucking and shouting too, eyes closed and everything and tired as I don't know what afterward....nobody ever talks about that part lol they just get to waving and bowing but in actuality trying to catch their breath...lol. When people shout or get the Holy Spirit and they are truly in the spirit it is different than people dancing when the music comes on just to show off. When you play with the Lord you dont feel anything, but when you are truly in the spirit you will not get hurt. whatever you want to believe, All I know is I suffered from migrains from age 13-22 and I went to church one Sunday in april with a really bad migrain on of the members laid hands on me in the name of Jesus and the migrain went away and I have suffered from on since I'm now 36(by the way there is no cure and medicines only give sideaffects)

Worship and praise for God differs according to individual and culture. God does not hate Country, R&B, hip-hop, or jazz style worship and praise. That is the hang-up of human beings. We are not the same. God created diversity so only he knows. Let us work out our own salvation and let others do the same. Some people shout when they feel God's Spirit. Some people sit steel. i can show you more in the bible than you think. theres more in the word about dance and to leap and to turn about than u realize. get yourself a hebrew/greek dictionary and a good concordance. everywhere you see the word praise in the scripture, look that greak or that hebrew word and see what it means. its a real eye opener. english dont captivate..

This is lunacy. NO WHERE in the Bible do your read of people behaving this way. The Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit is the true Word sent by God NOT a bunch of jumping up and down. You are wrong because it is stated in the Bible that David danced and rejoiced. David even danced out of his clothes. In the New Testament, it is written that when Jesus healed a man of his sickness that he got up and rejoiced. We do not know how they rejoiced, but when the Holy Spirit comes upon you then you praise God in the way he moves you. The Bible does not detail how you are to praise but when you allow the Spirit to come upon you then you let him have his way.

Now there is nothing wrong with praising the Lord. Dance, sing, twirl...do whatever, but let's not act like we are in a dance trance with no control over our bodies. The Holy Ghost does not MAKE us do anything and the evidence of Him working is not in "shouting" or "manifesting" it is in the manifestation of the gifts of the Spirit to benefit the Body.

Yes! That is the problem, we often weigh everything by experience, but the last time I checked...when the Holy Ghost comes upon us it is suppose to give us power Acts 1:8 and guide us into truth John 16:13 not make us dance, fall out, bump our heads against the wall and etc.... Again, there is nothing wrong with dancing and being joyous, but we must watch what we say especially when it comes to what the Spirit DOES and make sure our actions and reactions line up with the Word of God.

Totally agree! I use to have that traditional mind set too. Once the music started and it is "high time" I would get to bucking and shouting too, eyes closed and everything and tired as I don't know what afterward....nobody ever talks about that part lol they just get to waving and bowing but in actuality trying to catch their breath...lol. Seriously though...when I dance it is not the same one i use to do if you know what I mean. My eyes are not closed and I don't act like I am in a trance.

When people shout or get the Holy Spirit and they are truly in the spirit it is different than people dancing when the music comes on just to show off. When you play with the Lord you dont feel anything, but when you are truly in the spirit you will not get hurt. I have known people catch the spirit and walk, run or walk the benches in church and not get hurt. My mother ran into a glass door and did not hurt. The bible says David danced before the Lord out of his clothes. Thats the Truth.

whatever you want to believe, All I know is I suffered from migrains from age 13-22 and I went to church one Sunday in april with a really bad migrain on of the members laid hands on me in the name of Jesus and the migrain went away and I have suffered from on since I'm now 36(by the way there is no cure and medicines only give sideaffects)
