@coolestguyindaworld1 The Hummel Concerto is an incredible piece of music and one of my all-time favorite trumpet pieces. I strongly recommend getting the music and learning it, but practice with patience. The first movement is tricky, the second movement requires a lot of chops, and the third is obviously very technical. It's just oh so good when you get those really difficult passages under your fingers.

Tine embodies all of the principles that make musical performance an art. Marcel Tabuteau who's drive system of phrasing note grouping and down and up inflection of the notes that he taught at the Curtis Institute influenced wind playing more than any one individual in the 20th century.. Tine embodies all of these principles. She is a blessing to all.

My teacher who was a student of Tabuteau always told me there are lots of good players too few artists. Tine is an Artist

Gifted Musician! I could be wrong, but I question whether she is actually playing in this video. My father and brother (both trumpeters) played many of these same pieces and each had far more lip movement and jaw and chin muscle changes to reach the extreme ranges. Not to take anything away from her...she plays beautifully! The trumpet isn't an easy instrument to play (I tried and ended up on the flute) and there is usually more noticable facial muscle movement.

@LynnieCrazy331 I find this to be quite ignorant... for you to just write off an instrument I play both trumpet and Tuba and every time somebody talks to me about it its always something about jazz music for the trumpet and "Oh i thought the tuba could only play 5 notes" which is really stupid because, the tuba almost has the same range of all the other instruments. But I will say it is OK to write off the orchestra! I mean those are just horrible unless its professional.

just listened to the version of the other blond trumpet virtuoso: Alison Balsom. Also nice. But Tine Thing Helseth tone and articulation wins hands down for me. balsom hast that sofisticated tone: more air and less pronounced articulation. with TTH every note whenever its fast or slow gets this beuatifull shiny clear tone. so great!!

Yes she's good, very good, and so is Allison Balsom. Only problem, is that here in North America, we see soooo many girl trumpet playrers, who are also good. It's going to be almost impossible for the European girl trumpet players to make money in sales here, ( if that's what they're after ) because they have to compete with the male trumpet players. Sexist? Maybe. True? Yes.

I just compared the recording from Tine Thing with the version from famous Ludwig Guettler from germany. While Guettler plays it with immensive afford to variations and trills and a hard embouchure, the Thing-Version is much more smoother and gentle to the ear. It sounds as if it's a childsplay to perform this piece! Astonishing!
