Haha, that IS true, cops everywhere and stuff but there's always a way you know... and the A6 has two small turbos, the volvo has a medium size turbo, that's the difference, you would be surprised by the size of those small turbos!!! Peace.
Ah but don't forget, the standard 850 T5 produced 225 bhp as did mine when i bought it. After a custom re-map it was producing 280bhp! That's only 5bhp less than the A6 chip tune. Depends on how your car is running before mapping and how it is done, but the T5's do produce over 50bhp with mapping alone.
I matched a 30TDI A6 in my old Rover 620Ti.. The C70 I have which has 280 brake will lose (albeit slowly) an A6 on the motorway. The T5 engine has a load of torque which sets it aside from a lot of cars on the motorway. Just speaking from experience rather than 'My car's faster than your's sort of chat
WTF are you talking about?? We are comparing an Audi A6 with the 2.7T engine with 260 ft-lbs torque and the C70 has like 240!! What experience are yout talking about?? hahaha... And if you chip tune them, it's even worse!!
yea, i m totally surprised C70's havent gotten exposure in the moddin scene, cuz for less than 4 grand you can make that thing run low 4's on the 0-60.
Best bet would be to sell it and buy an S60 2.4T, 2.5T, T5 or R. There aren't very many power mods for newer naturally aspirated Volvos. You could get an ECU upgrade and an exhaust, but where those mods would add up to and over 50+ horses on the Turbo versions, on your car it would probably be somewhere around 20+ hp.
new exhaust, headers, intake, make it lighter, new suspension, strut bar, sway bar, all things help to increase performance (not necessarily horsepower.)
if you want the car to something fun to drive, than get some light weight rims, all new suspension, sway bar, strut bar, and a new exhaust and you will be loving yo car.
how fast was it to 100 km/h / 60 mph

Where are tuned the Volvo ?

my m5 is way faster than both but regardless i want one of these c70's...miss boost:(

Hehe, people getting amazed by that... 240hp to 275hp? is that surprising? try an audi A6 2.7t, from 250hp to 310hp with only a chip... yeah...
JeansBiturboA6 3 years ago
I'm not surprised at all, because the Audi has TWO turbo's instead of just one .....
By the way it's pity you live in the States. That means a cop on every corner and ridiculous speedlimits ... ;-)

Volvos are badass sleepers, you could get easily approx. 350 hp/500 Nm with the right mods! Thats why i want to buy an C70 T5.

is it stock???
marcell17 3 years ago
No, it's powered by MTE tuning.
Stock it's 240HP and 330Nm but now 275HP and 395Nm. It weighs 1.450kg.

how do you add horsepower to a car exactly?
I live in the USA and I have a 2002 s60, 2.4L, 5 cylinder, 168 HP-automatic...I'd love to get it to be over 200 HP

Impressive pull. This really makes me want to mod my C70.
They're wicked cars! :D

The car has been on a dyno today :-)
The results ->
Horsepower: between 4.500 rpm and 6.500 rpm more than 250 HP, peak of 275 HP at 5.400 rpm.
Torque: between 2.900 rpmand 5.500 rpm more than 350 Nm, peak of 395 Nm at 4.000 till 4.500 rpm.

im thinking of buying a c70 hpt 01 are they any good
dotsfrazer 4 years ago
I drove approx. 10.000 miles (total 75.000 now) with mine without major problems !
Look for a car with a complete service history and low mileage.

I live in Norway. I meant to write 3.5 :-) with reference to acc 80-120
robbennorge 4 years ago
35 sec, nice :-)
I am most likely buying a 1999-model T5 this month. Can't wait to try it on!
robbennorge 4 years ago
35 ?
160 -> 260 in 25 sec
100 -> 200 in 14 sec :-)
And hopefully you live in (or close to) Germany ;-)

Is there a significant difference in performance? Love this car btw
robbennorge 4 years ago
Definitely :-) Topspeed is unchanged, but acceleration is much better/smoother now.
80-120 in III in 3.5s f.e.
The car has frontwheeldrive but can handle the power very well. I love driving it.
