they're called loop pedals and almost every beatboxer who sings (or vice versa) uses it. it allows them to loop beats and harmonies and sing over it. "the male ashlee simpson"? really? live looping is an art in itself and requires immense skill to operate it in accurate timing and with the correct effects.
