  • Beautiful finish

  • My dad always tried to get me to model my swing of off Els' and there's no better swing out there to emulate. Even if you make a mistake, you have such a better chance of correcting by swinging nice and easy and focusing on the mechanics. I love his swing

  • Si te gusta el golf y los juegos online, googlea gamigo.shot-online.es y descarga este juego. Pura diversión. LAIHN

  • THE BIG EASY

  • EFFORTLESS

  • Nice swing. Dont think he liked it though. Looks like a push fade. Open face at top.

  • i love ernies swing although this isnt his finest is it!

  • is it just me or did ernie shank that one?

  • @CaptainAndrewWiggins

i think he is aimin to the right. the yellow line confuses u. look at his feet. its pointin towards the right

  • 7th all time winningest player on euro tour 28 wins, 18 pga wins and a lot of seconds and thirds to a bloke named woods. yeah he sucks alriight.....i wish i sucked too

  • @Vicmarvaldes what is your problem?!? can't comprehend a sarcastic dry humor remark? who needs a life here? jeesh-leweeeeeez!

  • I Fucking Hate Fairway Woods!!!!! just can't hit em sweet lol

  • I don't like the way as he contacted the ball in slow motion there was a *POP* and no more sound. I got scared my ear drums were shot.

  • bad shot

  • @KatiushaVN4 aw yeah as if you could ever be half as good as this guy, dumbass

  • What camera did you use?

  • thats an ugly swing......he'll never make it anywhere.

  • One of the nicest swings on tour. Lot of guys study his swing . . .

  • Best swing on tour!

  • Ooooooh ! Thats how your suppose to swing

  • Poetry

  • My friends that's how you swing a golf club......

  • I love how ernie hits fairway woods

  • this is kind of unrelated to his swing, but just by the way he looks doesn't it seem like he would have the worst breath?

  • best swing in the history of golf

  • @icthruu4evr Yes, Tiger would lie, look at the divorce, for example

  • can he make it look easier than this??

  • did he hit it slightly at the toe of the club face?

  • I just think Ernies has such a beautiful swing, that I could watch it for hours.

  • Harrington has won three majors you fucking batty boy.

  • @icthruu4evr thats ovbiously not true.

  • @icthruu4evr well go look at tiger, phil, whoever you want, feet stay quiet in the backswing.

  • @icthruu4evr just take a look at the other tour players swings in the related videos section. padraig, furyk, goosen. its clearly in the downswing

  • @icthruu4evr okay yes but its in the downswing not the back swing

  • @icthruu4evr modern golfers keep their lower body quiet and swing mostly with shoulders. older golfers like nicklaus watson and bobby jones had big hip action and lifted their left foot off the ground, which is an unnecessary move in the golf swing, so no you dont need to lift your left heel on the back swing.

  • Sorry I think he's hit this just fine if you look at his alignment,Its just where the ball is supposed to go!

  • Actually a very good vid to see that habit he developed since the injury--opening the angle between arms and shaft a little right at the outset of the downswing, jut a little cast move (seen better in face-on, but you can tell here too). Kind of a smaller version of what Jay Sigel used to do. It really screws up his timing. Once in a while you'll see him at an event where he's making a lot of swings _without_ doing that, and invariably he hits it really well when that happens.

  • @icthruu4evr

    What?

  • it was a slice and ernie never pushes the ball also you can tell he has perfect rotation of the club and release

  • @helenathena

Yeah, I think you're right--this is what happens with that slight casting move sometimes (actually you can miss it right OR left). Clearly he's not happy--flamed it a bit right. Still, as you say (I think), you can see here (and in other slo-mo vids of him, Tiger, and other people who are killing it) just how there's no "hold-off" move at all--the face rotates aggressively, a natural consequence of rotating the forearms and releasing the hands the way they're made to.

  • @helenathena

When he misses one like this, you'll see him get just a shade ahead of it, and just a little more shoulder-dominant, than he is on his good swings; the angle opens a touch (which means the hands are working ahead of the arms slightly) as the downswing starts, then they have to hold on while the arms are swinging down, which appears to me to give him an extra bit of tension that wasn't there in his swing when he was in his 20s and early 30s (before the knee problem).

  • shankage

  • pushed

  • awful

  • He came out of the shot... You can see it at 0:33...

  • @DaYama25

How is that coming out of the shot?

  • @jstaryyyy it didnt even draw back you can eve tell he didnt even like the shot

  • eeeww!!!! that has got to be the most horrid looking swing i have ever seen! who swings with such rhythmic effortless tempo that propels the golf ball distances unknown to the avg golfer? please take this video clip down u-tube. its worthless to watch.

  • sliced it :O, maybe open club face?

  • @helenathena

That isnt even close to a slice, he just starts it out to the right, but if you look at his clubface after impact, it closes down, so this ball will come back - its called a draw.

  • Innocent question. Why does almost every pro hit a draw on their drivers, woods, and long irons? Does the ball carry farther? Is it a"safer" shot when you can pull it off?

  • @dhkk1987 Depends on the pro. Niklaus, Trevino, Couples, Norman, Cabrera and tons more pros hit a fade. Draws (generally) go further, but a cut is a 'safer' shot as it's more controllable. To quote Trevino: "You can talk to a fade, but a hook won't listen".

  • @dhkk1987

It isnt the safer shot (as they say, you can talk to a fade, but a hook wont listen) but in general its longer and has more roll.

  • love ernie

  • that is such a good swing

  • Ernie Da Man!

  • well he won yesterday so he's back to his brilliant self!!

  • Effortless.

  • Comment removed

  • what's that supposed to mean???

  • maybe triying to draw but turns in slice¿????

  • @guiyellow pause at 16 its perfect

  • His pivot moves closer to the ball at impact, which means his spine angle gets a bit taller through impact. A bad spine angle can cause many swing flaws.

  • great swing. why'd he push that one?

  • dont you hate when you block push a ball when your trying to draw it big Easy...

  • @cjcollas that's why it's called a PRACTICE range you fkn knob jockey. Easy just to sit there and criticise, I'd like to see your golf swing or for you to show me your life's achievements. Fkn asshole.

  • loL wow don't let your period spill on your keyboard there. Ernie is one of my favorite players in the history of golf. You need to really stfu.

  • the only blood getting around will be out of your asshole when i pull my cock out of it. i know how much you like that sort of thing. and 'stfu'...please...you're such a lame fkn dickbrain. enjoy shooting your normal 120+ off the stick next time you play. wanker.

  • SHANK!

  • i thought that too but look where his feet are pointing

  • perfect swing. amazing how he hasn't won more majors

  • Think of all the Tourneys he would have won if Tiger didn't play golf. Ernie has one of the best swing tips I've ever heard...type in Ernie Els swing tip. Keeping the Box, great advice

  • takes more than a perfect swing.

  • how can someone one with this good of a swing still suck. such a head case

  • what??? the guy has won 3 majors and a ton of tournies worldwide....hes an all time great.....we should all aspire to suck so much....

  • hes talkin of late.

  • Yeah? What sport do you play for a living, Doiit?

He's only won about a million times, been ranked top 5 over and over, multiple major winner, etc....yeah, he really sucks.

    Idiot.

  • ok dude. ur talking about in the past. he WAS good. my point is that he still has such a great swing but cant score. whens the last time he won a tournament, or even a top 10. 2 years ago? STFU

  • If all he did was make a living playing golf, he wouldn't "suck." But:

He's the 23rd-ranked player in the world.

    Seven top-10 finishes this year.

    Won the Honda last year.

    So, as you say: STFU.

If you're saying he's not playing as well as he can, or as well as he did at his peak, before the injury, of course that's true.

  • I agree with you. He was good, and his swing still is great, but yet cant score. The reason: his putting. Its almost painful to watch him putt. Most people react negatively to ur comment because they only think about the past.

  • thank u sam. some one who isnt a retard

  • Right, Doiit. Everybody's a retard but you and sam. Except sam's not saying that Ernie "sucks," and you are.

I'll ask again: What sport do you make a living at? You think somebody can "suck" and make a living playing tournament golf?

  • Ernie hasn't been the same Golfer/person since he learned that his only son has autism. Add that to him being out of the game while recovering from ACL reconstruction and you might be able to comprehend why right now he isn't the golfer he once was. Still a legend though.

  • I've been wondering for quite a while about Ernie's "bounce" move at the top that has developed over the years, sort of a mild version of the Jay Sigel bounce--an opening of the angle between arms and shaft right at the change of direction, starting down. It's weird. But looking at this ultra-clear vid, does anybody else see him moving the butt end of the club fractionally (and that's all it takes, with the butt end) to the outside right at the top? Check at :27-:28.

  • It's his way of creating lag. It's the reason he hits the ball 320+ yards.

  • Large toe block! Still an absolutely pure swing

  • Bobby really has a good golf training system for the money. I would buy it again. Golferbreak80com

  • one of the greatest swings of all time. and couldn't happen to a nicer guy

  • His swing can certainly be described as "the big easy", but here he is working it. Good video!

  • re: bonar - its cause and effect. i had/have a classic over the top swing and bonars wristy release had me thinking that all my troubles were fixed. you cant force it with the hands. release is everything, but guaranteed these guys arent thinking just flip the hands through impact and everythings great. its similar to the swing the clubhead / ernest jones and manuel de la torre. and tour tempo. the sneak in lots of standard golf teaching, but the credit for improvement goes to their magic moves

  • Yeah, that's a good point--I mostly agree. You couldn't start from scratch with the Bonar move (and he probably doesn't with beginners); it's more a reminder to release fully, but a lot of other elements have to be there.

  • How does he set up those shafts? Looks like a good drill

  • You look at how quickly guys like him and Goosen get the toe of the club closed (or, if you prefer, the face of the club on the plane) after impact--Tiger does this too, and so do a lot of pros--you think there might be something to Bonar's whole "release is everything" theory.

  • basically. all i was sayin was hes not nearly as goood as he used to be

  • Not too sure samimalmstrom - he was in a foul mood that day though :)

  • Any reason why he didnt like the shot? Slice, hook, too low?

  • he hit it off the toe -wrong contact

  • Thx!

  • The quality of these are exceptional, Ace views also, Cheers 'iseekgolf'
