Well secular rap usually talks about and glorifies things that are anti-God, or against His character. Rap style in and of itself isn't bad, but when words are put to the beat, that is when it is defined as for, or against God. God has blessed Lecrae with the gift of music, and he uses it to glorify the one who blessed him with that talent, and more importantly a relationship with Himself through Jesus. though not perfect, Lecrae is a true follower of Christ.

A "real" rap song talks about drugs and sex and all this other crap like thats what happens in everyday life for everyone. The truth is not everyone looks to have sex and do drugs and chase money all day, everyday. Millions of people are Christians and that means God is their drug, they dont need money cause it wont get them in Heaven, and they only have sex with their spouse.

and worshiping Jesus is not worshiping a mere man. According to not only Scripture, but history, the witnesses, His disciples who were mostly martyred and continue to be to this day. Jesus never sinned, healed the sick, raised the dead, fed thousands of people at once, and did many more miracles than these. He also was crucified, rose from the dead, continued to do ministry for 40 days afterwards in front of the same eye witnesses and people who saw him crucified.
@hgdsc now what mere man can do this? to even raise himself from the dead? so you see, Jesus came that you hgdsc might come to know Him as Lord and Savior, if you would place your faith in Him, turning from your sin, leaving them forever at His cross. Jesus as God's Son who is perfect, is the only one that can wipe away your sins. No mere regular person cannot do that because they are also sinner's. Meaning they are God's enemy who live in rebellion to His perfect law.

But if you do not, then all your sin and rebellion is on your head when Jesus would have freely forgiven you and adopted you into His family. It doesn't have to be that way. My insomnia has nothing to do with you "god" I was in the military for 6 years and I seen things that made me realize there isnt anything holy in this world. But you kids have fun with your beliefs.
the only thing holy in this world is the Lord's presence in calling people to Him. MOST of the world is lost and in sin, serving their own sinful nature (or as the bible says children of Satan) To live to serve the sinful nature is being an enemy of God, and everyone lives to serve that who hasn't repented and believed in the Son Jesus Christ who died that people would come to know Him. God knows all about the evil in the world, the Bible speaks plainly of it numerous times.
Now that we both know there is a ton of evil in the world, we should both know that we need Christ in such an otherwise hopeless and purposeless place. Christ gives us purpose, and forgives all our sin, that we can be filled with His Spirit and live to please Him/glorify Him. Noone can glorify God or is pleasing in God's sight without His Holy Spirit, and noone can have a real change without Him.
1st John 2:15 "Do not love the world or the things in the world (the sinful ways of the world), If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world - the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life - is not of the Father but is of the world. Only those who know Christ as Lord and Savior do the will of God, they are the only ones capable through the Holy Spirit we receive once coming to faith and repentence in Christ. Only Christ can change the zebra's stripes, otherwise no matter what people do they are still sinners judged by His perfect standard. The old me has passed away, the new me has come, because of what Jesus did on the cross and His calling me to Him. If the military has taught you anything insom, it has taught you
about the sin of mankind, and their dire need for the one and only Savior, the biblical Jesus Christ. Without Him they remain a slave to sin/sinful nature, with Him they are set free and their desires completely change to please Him, and glorify Him, and not theirselves. Music is made by its lyrics. Rap music, as well as many other types of music have a bad reputation because of the horrible lyrics that make up the songs. Without lyrics, we would call what we hear an instrumental or 'beat' or something of that nature, but not a song because a song requires singing. Thus we glorify God by mixing godly words or lyrics in with a 'beat' to form a song used to worship Him. Praise the Lord.
What's more important is that Rap music is a tool to reach out to the inner city, thugs, the hoods, etc. Music is universal and reaches out to different types of people. Regardless of what type of music it is, it's glorifying GOD, and speaking a different message to youth.

Exactly.. and how many teens/youth get caught up in all the crappy negativity that wordly/secular rap brings. I know because I used to listen to a lot of West Coast/Bay Area Rap. It changed my attitude, definitely changed the way I thought. A "real" rap song talks about drugs and sex and all this other crap like thats what happens in everyday life for everyone. The truth is not everyone looks to have sex and do drugs and chase money all day, everyday. He saying money is simply "paper". And letting people know that Jesus is of priceless value. While other people brag because of how much "paper" they have, He is saying all He needs is Jesus, who is of infinite value. Paper can't get anyone into heaven. It was Jesus was saved the rapper here, Jesus in whom he places his trust, and Jesus who changed His heart so that he doesn't do the things he used to. Now his love is for God and glorifying Him, and not himself.

@hgdsc the first commentment is found in Deuteronomy 6. which is Love the Lord your God with all your heart soul mind. Everyone has broken that commandment. Jesus is God's Son, and hence, He is God in flesh. So in worshiping Jesus we worship God. Christianity has no contradictions. By the way, food for thought. Jesus said to "love your enemies" God loves His enemies and provided a way for them to be forgiven and be adopted into His family by Jesus.

An army going to war to defend their people do not murder, but they must kill to defend themselves. If someone breaks into your home to kill your wife and kids, that's murder or attempted murder, but if you defend your family by taking their lives, that is killing. Huge difference.

Look at the words used here, it is not referring to a son who simply misbehaves, but a son in whom lives as an enemy against their father and mother. "This son of ours is stubborn aka "continually against us, unrepentant" and a drunkard aka "dangerous to himself and others. Then that rebellious person should be stoned, signifying the seriousness of unrepentant sin.

and worshiping Jesus is not worshiping a mere man. According to not only Scripture, but history, the witnesses, His disciples who were mostly martyred and continue to be to this day. Jesus never sinned, healed the sick, raised the dead, fed thousands of people at once, and did many more miracles than these. He also was crucified, rose from the dead, continued to do ministry for 40 days afterwards in front of the same eye witnesses and people who saw him crucified.

the only thing holy in this world is the Lord's presence in calling people to Him. MOST of the world is lost and in sin, serving their own sinful nature (or as the bible says children of Satan) To live to serve the sinful nature is being an enemy of God, and everyone lives to serve that who hasn't repented and believed in the Son Jesus Christ who died that people would come to know Him. Now that we both know there is a ton of evil in the world, we should both know that we need Christ in such an otherwise hopeless and purposeless place. Christ gives us purpose, and forgives all our sin, that we can be filled with His Spirit and live to please Him/glorify Him. Music is made by its lyrics. Rap music, as well as many other types of music have a bad reputation because of the horrible lyrics that make up the songs. Without lyrics, we would call what we hear an instrumental or 'beat' or something of that nature, but not a song because a song requires singing. Thus we glorify God by mixing godly words or lyrics in with a 'beat' to form a song used to worship Him. Praise the Lord.

What's more important is that Rap music is a tool to reach out to the inner city, thugs, the hoods, etc. Music is universal and reaches out to different types of people. Regardless of what type of music it is, it's glorifying GOD, and speaking a different message to youth.
