I am absolutely fascinated by the way Urs speaks. He puts this special emphasis on his words that's both adorable/hilarious and so expressive! "That is not going to *work,* you know? but you want me to sing *those* songs with my *lyrical,* classical voice?" I hope his English hasn't been Americanized, I think part of his eloquence comes from those unique inflections.

Carlos was obviously the best of the baritones Simon brought in to the auditions. His powerful voice and tremendous range say it all, and yes he's a great performer as well.

But I have to wonder if Jose Cura, the other great Spanish Tenor, was even asked to sing.

Simon: love him or hate him! Yes, he does not always use the nicest words/tact to give his opinion about a candidate. But at least he is honest; he goes the the heart of what is bad or good with a candidate (I don't think he would say anything bad if it were not true). His judgment about Il Divo singers proves it. They have been all well chosen, each with their vocal talents (no matter how strong or weak, depending on opinion, their personalities, and their charisma.

And he is really the spokesman of the group now. Carlos talks too fast and it's hard to understand him a lot of times. Sebastien really would rather stay in the background so to speak; he's shy. David is a terrible public speaker.

For me, Urs has the weakest voice of the three; it doesn't stand out in any particular way. But he is certainly the best PR guy for their interviews. And yes he is very nice.

Well let's not go off on him too much. When he calms down he actually speaks very well, but I still wouldn't use him as the group's spokesman. Sebastien would do well in that role though. He speaks English as well as Urs.

Simon is right about Seb's voice; the fact that he sings duets with Carlos on quite a few of their songs says a lot about how good he is.
