I can look more polished in a finely knit turtleneck or other stretch fabric without a coat. Men, like women, should be allowed to wear what they want tie or not. The trouble with this knot, I find, is that it often comes out looking slightly asymmetrical. It was a good way to tie "skinny ties" back in the 1980s, but with today's ties, the full windsor looks better in my opinion.
