Thi video was, obviously, terribly done. I'm not sure if that was the intention or not but it looks like a project that would have been submitted (and failed) for a high school level animation class.

I appreciate the message in the message in the video, I really do, but there's a fine line between art and trying too hard to be artsty and this video crosses that line into failure.

The idea of the vid is an allusion to political and social manipulation. The scholar's mate is used to win the game by red Queen. Interesting thing about the scholar's mate is if you haven't learned it you don't know it's happening until check mate. She rides the back of the bishop to check mate. Notice how the vid pans out with the black puppet. Politicians are notorious for being referred to as puppets. This vid came out in 2007 a year before America's last presedential election.
