The problem with these interections are the location of the signal light. If the signal were moved before the tracks then cars wouldn't feel inclined to move up. It should be changed to white line, signal light, tracks, intersection. Cross the tracks after getting the green and then make your turn.

For those that don't know:

Trucker had green light on the road crossing and went to cross the rails as the light turned red.

She (yes SHE) backed up to clear the rails and waited for the green light again.

Light turns gree and she tries to cross the rails again. Problem was when she back up she didn't go far enough to see the rail crossing lights as well and the cooling system for the trailer was loud enough to prevent her from hearing the sound signals.

Had she kept moving she'd clear the track but as said she didn't know what was going on and she stopped.

I think the camera guy was filming exactly because of that issue. The road crossing light turned red AFTER the rail crossing was already closing the track for the train. In a thick traffic it was possible for somebody to get trapped.

She didn't back up. She stopped, the crossing lights started flashing, then she pulled forward to position the trailer for a perfect T-bone hit. I saw the whole thing.

i seen worse once my dad was driving us to tennis practice light turns green then 2 seconds not joking it turned when again plus another time we were waiting i bna turning lane the light set up here was for if the cars weren't coming the light for them will turn red and the people who wanted to turn could well it took 7 minutes until we could turn light was screwed up

The red lights were not working properly. Nearly the same thing happend to another driver the day before. So he took his Videocam to film and prove that this redlight was not working properly. First you stood at a red light, then you get green and after maybee 15 seconds it switched on red again. CRAZY.
