  • i had to watch this movie for school. let me tell you, it changed my life. it is so sad, and so horrible, what they did to those people. how could anyone sit there and think that whipping and shooting and even killing these children is right? that you were doing the right thing? it is so disturbing. i am so glad that things have now changed for the better.

    psalmisteve.

  • Hey guy, you've got my credit for uploading Sarafina for me to watch. It's a movie of my life.

  • how can anyone dislike this movie =/ this movie was so good

  • i love this movie so much..i will watch it over and over again!!! <3

  • That song in part 10 ("Thank You Mama") is something I want to sing every day to my mom. She done so much for me that I don't thank her enough for. Whenever she does something that annoys me, or we get in a fight...I should remember this song. I wanna thank you mama.....thank you mama for everything that you have done for me.

  • To this day, my mom hasn't had enough strength to watch this movie. She knows it might bring back too many bad memories. This is also the reason why as a child, she would NEVER ever, not once, buy my brothers and I any toy that resembled a gun. Not even a water gun.

Although my mom hasn't seen the feel, she got the soundtrack right after the movie came out and I've grown up with it! It's almost the soundtrack to her life.

  • Namibia has since gained independence and all the rebels outcast, have regained their Namibian citizenship and allowance into the country.

These people are kind of seen as heroes for giving up so much to force the government to resolve the issues surrounding apartheid and colonization. There are still a lot of things that need healing in Africa, but I pray that one day...I can at least bring some hope back to my mother's home village.

  • Years later, she moved to Italy where she met my father and my two brothers were born. Two years after that, finally able to leave refugee status, my mother was allowed to choose from three places she wanted to take permanent residence. USA, Canada or New Zealand. My mom had read about Canada being a very good place to live and decided on that.

I was born in Canada, and we've been here for exactly how old I am, 23 years. I cannot express how grateful I am to have been born free.

  • My mother was still one of many people outcast from Namibia and not allowed to return...so she hadn't been able to contact her mother, my grandmother, for years! Imagine how scared my grandparents must have been, with no clue if her daughter was still alive. She was their only child too!

  • ...where the rebels lived in refugee camps. The things she tells me about the travel are horrifying! Many people died along the way...people even got so hungry that they were forced to eat their horses. It's very sad. After making it to the camps in Zimbabwe, my mom was able to get some further education/work and later moved to Bulgaria, where she was able to work more and get a degree in engineering. As well as finally get some more stability in her life.

  • This movie really hits home for me. My mother is from Namibia (not SA...but close enough) and Namibia face the same thing when the Germans moved into the country to colonize it. My mother was young and became part of the rebel forces fighting against the military using Guerrilla warfare in the bush.

These rebels were quickly labeled as outcasts and were forced to leave the country and told never to return. At the age of 18, my mom and the rebels walked from Namibia to Zimbabwe.....

  • That lead singer girl can sing, I love her voice in this song and the lords prayer song.

  • I hope all Africans who are under dictatorship will take a courage like SARAFINA and continue the struggle until freedom comes.....the whole world ignored the Black struggle in SA the same way they have ignored the suffering of Rwandans and Congolese. The diamond has blinded them the same way gold blinded Americans in SA and left Mandela to rot by putting his name on the terrorist list so that they find a way to loot Africa, and Rwandans were called INTERAHAMWE so that they be labeled to die

  • This movie and others like it are part of the struggle that they don't want us to know or remember. This was made years ago and still goes on like this now. We are not as free as you think. One of my all time favorites.

  • this movie touched my soul and brought tears to my eyes.

  • Hallo 9D des LSG. Morgen!

  • you should be proud because even though i am not african, i am not rasist and i would not like the title as a rasist white person if that stuff was still going on!!!

  • Thank u and yes its still going on but not as common as back in the day.

  • nope leleti khumalo is still alive and kickin it:)

  • this movie is powerful.

i thought this movie took place in the united state. it was in south africa.

so why the white cop told farafina he would killed her if she tryna make war in HIS country??

  • because the the whites in power, basically had convinced themselves that africa was "their" land and that the south africans were just pest to be dealt with

  • @sblazer227 so they must have thought that africans are stupid, they didn't think they would put up a fight? yea right, africans hearts and will r strong, like sarafina said, its her home, and she's home 2 stay

  • @ lilzaey, that is because the white man claimed South Africa as his own.....funny huh?....very powerful movie indeed!

  • the best agree i

  • Leleti Khumalo is so beautiful. You should see her in Yesterday. Brings tears to my eyes

  • Tears are still running down my chick for the murder at Soweto of those innocent children. However I think hatred should be kept out of the game and lets make a better world for all. We thank you Lord all.Jesus in U we trust safe souls

  • African American Lord willing will be moving to Africa in the future with a couple dollars to invest in better living and volunteer with local churches and live humble the rest of my Life. Since i've been born aging in Jesus I see the constant brain washing of Africans and African americans to think to live to hate to always be greedy and selfish for money and to act like God's on earth. BUT BIBLE FLASH AMERICA THATS NOT HOW WE SUPPOSED TO SERVE JESUS.

    Freedom will come tommorow. Amen

  • beautiful movie. You know a lot of of people are quick to defend their race no one ever admits the wrongs that have been done. The world is such a cruel place with senseless wars, hatred and racism. Regardless theres always more good than evil which is why the world can be so wonderful. I just dont understand how we can be so ruthless towards each other. It's so sad I feel theres no hope for humankind

  • OH MY sweet wonderful Jesus , THANK YOU so much for posting one of my favorite movies.

I tell you, if this film does not awake your dead dreams, put fire to your determination, expose ever lie, eliminate all of our excuses, and provokes change, and praise to God above, then I don't what does.

THIS FILM's message STILL rings Loud in clear in the earth today.

  • this is my fav movie! its simply amaizing

  • This movie is awsome!!! i love u for postin this up!!

  • WOW!! This is a great movie. Its kinda weird watching though, because my name is Sarafina. I was actually named after this movie. Its nice to finally get to see the move! I have to thank you for posting this up, it gives me a chance to see what i was named after. This movie is really inspiring. Its amazing how different this movie is than what i thought it would be. Now i know why my cousin had thought to name me Sarafina. Well she was actually watching Sarafina when my parents called. Love it!!

  • watching sarafina has inspired me to rock my natural hair. its beautiful the way it is why do we try to change it.

  • FREDDOM IS COMING !!!!!!!

  • this movie jus makes it soo much easierto hav faith in the world in god and in ppl from all around the world

    -god bless every1

may he keep u nd me safe in all we do nd may he guide us through his narrow way. may his pathget wider over the years instead of getting even more narrow then it already is. may the world change for better not for worse nd may god bless us, every1

  • This movie should not make you have faith in the world b/c the hands of flesh will fail you every time. It was faith plus works that brought and is stilling bringing liberation.

God's path will not every get wider b/c his standards and commands never change. This world will only grow worst and is sentence to judgement. It is up to the individual to decide whose path they are and rules are they govern by.

  • o m g

  • what do you mean? I thought South Africa was no longer under the apartheid system.

  • this film was made a while ago...

  • but its dark legacy and violence are still there and unfortunately doesn't seem likely to go away

  • Yes there is violence but that is nothing compared to apartheid. There is just no comparison between violence and apartheid.

  • Love the End Credits song "One More Time" performed by James Ingram . I would love for someone to upload a full version of the James Ingram version of "One More Time" it's a shame it cuts off the end of the song. I have been looking for James' version sadly I only have Michael Bolton's version from the Movie "Sing"

  • Dieser Film zeigt einmal mehr, dass Diktatur, Apartheit und jede andere Ungerechtigkeit irgendwann enden müssen.
