how can i do the quest i have done almost all the quests except the kushala daora and coal mining and yet i cant do the urgent do i have to fight the kushala daora?

Is the Yian Garuga armour ok for this quest? I have all Garuga armour (bar the helmet i have Basarios helm) and my friend killed 2 Rathians with me so i could get Wyvern Blade Leaf(i also have Barbaroi Blade,Frost Edge,Hydra Bite,Red Saber and Sonic Glass in my box).Is there other ways to kill a Tigrex without using a Long Sword? Lng.Swords and Hammers are so not my forté....
@incinerator142 Yian Garuga armor is good for this quest, you'll be okay. It will take a while with Wyvern Blade "Leaf" since it has poor damage for Tigrex and unecessary Poison Status that will do very little damage to Tigrex. Try improving your weapons a few times and it should work. Great Sword is really advisable to Tigrex, so get Ravager Blade and improve it to Ravager Blade+. The materials are fairly easy to get, plus it doesn't cost so much. Try it out. :)
@JoeDrop yh i did it with Ravager Blade+,but that was ages ago,I'm on the 6star quests now,and the 5star questsin the GH.I use Kirin Thundersword when i hunt a Tigrex now,as it has high Thunder damage and Tigrex is the weakest to Thunder in the game.But im doing is GH quests now becuase immortal plankton Shen Gaoren is fucking impossible.I tried it loads,i had full Rath.Soul armour,Reckless Abandon+1,Earplug,Dead Revolver and Atk.Inc.Large adn the shitpice still kills the town.

IIRC, I think I used Wyvern Blade "Blood" for the GH Shen Gaoren, and it worked. Try using that, but the weapon is a pain to make, it requires 1 Rathalos Wing. Here is how to get it:
Bone Katana "Wolf" -> Bone Katana "Shark" -> Wyvern Blade "Fall" -> Wyvern Blade "Blood".

I just repelled my very first G-Rank Shen Gaoren with Wyvern Blade "Camellia". And congratulations! lol... But you still need another rare material for the Maple Wyvern Blade, which is Rathalos Ruby. But I made my Wyvern Blade "Silver" then improved it to "Camellia", so I won't have to get those materials ;). & nice LS ya got there!
@JoeDrop Ah,I see......well i know something will work....and yeah i know,Hidden Saber is a great Long Sword,I killed a Lao-Shan Lung with it yesterday(with Heroics),and repelled two more since.I could've killed the 3rd one (the 2nd i repelled),but i wated time trying to get onto his back and carve,i doesn't work,I just floati in mid jump when i touch him a slide onto the ground.Apparently only one part of his back can be landed on but i don't know what part >=(.......

You're using full Ceantaur armor, but I cant seem to make the Gauntlets. They just wont appear in the armory. I have every other piece of the set aside from the gaunts. Any idea why?

I used to hate him because Tigrex Is a freight train with a hitbox a mile wide, Then I farmed, and farmed, and farmed, and did i mention I did some farming???? I was so surprised, because i was using the Wyvern Blade Fall ,which is fire, And i could only beat it 2 times ( The snow and desert) Now i can do it with no items!!! is kirin thundersword a good weapon to kill tigrex? otherwise i use my judgement but its not very sharp and doesn't have anny adributes but it have high power. its for the hr3 rank up.

i couldnt do this quest, tryed 3 times and failed right at the end when the tigerex was ragin so i watched ur guide and i took my time and waited for a moments to strike and beat it first time.
my tips: take ur time, its not a race. use the mountain wall on sector 8 u can get in 1-2 combos when it gets stuck on the wall
Exactly. You have to take your time to learn a monsters movements before you can strike. I assure you, everyone and their mother had to do this at some point, no matter how skilled.

i thought of using full Cephalos armour with sharpening skill (decorations) defence more than 200 because I upgrade a lot and using a kirin bolt indora would this defeat the tigrex quickly???

@destinydownloads Never mind, I killed it with the Red Pincer is what i useud. Hermitaur Helm, Kut-Ku Mail Ku-Ku Vambraces, Kut-Ku Tasset, and Loprey Greves. For the Ravanger Blade all you need is 15 Earth crystals, 15 Iron Ores, And 15 Ice Crystals. That's it. i think.....

boo ya killed my first tigrex with a ravager blade+ and with full battle armor set that you can buy from that cat right to the weapon crafter and whats even more amazing is that this was my 6th try. and oh yea to all people that couldnt kill a tigrex just keep trying dont even think of using cheats, i wanted to but i couldnt but that didnt stop me thanks SpiderCVIII i couldnt have done it without you and your inspiring video. ;)
i just cant kill him i tried ravager blade+ barbarol blade eager clevaer with mafumofu giaprey and ceanaur armor and i have no idea what to try next if i focus on the tail he does that spin attack and takes half my health if i focus on the head he does his bite attack and even if he doesnt bite me i end up below him and i lose health trying to get away from there attacking his wing didnt help much. if you have any advice plz tell me and if there is any ls or gs that youd like to reccomend.
Yeah, once you hit it enough. I know I should have aimed for the tail in the vid, but unless I specifically need a Tigrex tail, I won't attack it. I mostly aim for the head.
damn i have fought him fricken 58 times with no luck....... i really suck at this game.... im gonna try this excact method with same wep and everything.. what other gs at this level is good?
Sharpening Skill Increase (SSI) lets me sharpnen my weapon much faster, while Sharp Sword (SS) makes sharpness levels last longer.
SSI in of itself is pretty cool, but not vital. SS is very helpful. Both are not vital to a Tigrex hunt or for a GS user, but still nice to have. Plus, I believed this to be the best possible set up for anyone in that situation.
Informally known as Felyne Kitchen Buffs, these can be obtained by eating at your own Felyne Kitchen, located in your house. You have to hire some chefs first, though, and you should be able to by the time you reach Tigrex.
There are many good combos, but I prefer Meat + Veggie and Drink + Cheese.

Yeah, Tigrex was a big trouble to the most of us at first. I remember it took me 3 to 4 tries to finally kill it, tons more to be able to hunt it with as much grace as in the video.
I don´t now what happend to my game yesterday but I FINALLY GOT THE QUEST DONE. You can imagine how happy I was. I screamed "YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!" very loud (really). Today I tried Akantor and he´s not hard but takes to much health with any attack. I lost because of Time Up because I went with precautions. Any idea on how to beat him quickly? ^_^
@SpiderCVIII It´s been 3 days since I beat Akantor and got the game credits. The Guild one is such a pain because he gives twice the damage and needs twice the power to beat him. Again, I tried but I lost of Time Up. I´m not the hammer type but I could try a hunting horn. Also, I got the Fatalis quest but my attacks bounce off. I was going to try ESP and Smolder Dragon sword but what do you recomend? ^_^
It´s only been 30 minutes since I beat Narga finally and now I´m screwed with Dual Tigrex, Silver Rathalos, etc. and I´m extremly frustrated. I got the full Cenataur S and upgraded it to lv.9, got Killer´s Scythle and still can do anything. In the Dual Tigrex quest they put both Tigrex in the same area. In the Silver Rathalos I spent half hour trying to beat him and he beat me up. And don´t make me say a thing about Rajang. The only one I could beat was Shen Gaoren.
Dual Tigrex is tricky. You gotta make sure to keep them separated. They already start off separated at the beginning of the quest, one on the summit, and one on the first area. Never try to take both at the same time, and bring paintballs to track them.
As for Silver Rathalos, I suggest you use a hammer. The strategy there is very simple. Otherwise, if you want to stick to GS, aim for its wings, as that is the weakpoint, unlike the other Rathalos.
@SpiderCVIII jejeje The game is so easy when you get evade+2 and a good sharp sword (I went for Great Hornfly Saber). I beat Rajang, Silver, Golden, Silver & Golden preety easily...BUT...Tigrex is Impossible. I followed what you said and bringed 15 flashbombs(made by combining) just in case. I try to go only for one but the other one goes where I am ALWAYS. Then, I use a Flashbomb to get an opening to attack/escape and either I get killed somehow or get Time Up. Need more tips. Please.
I used a poison battle axe strategy with bombs :) i just need better gear and i`ll be able to defeat him O.o i always manage to cut his tail with SnS though. t

Good going! The strategy is pretty straightforward, so I am not surprised to hear someone discover it on their own, just takes time and understanding of the weapons mechanics.

Yes, Tigrex will sometimes pull off a third jump, but rarely. Just wait. If you see it start to turn around after the second jump, that's your signal that it's going to jump again. Tigrex will never do a fourth jump, at least from my experience.
When it is weak enough, you have to trap it with either a Shock Trap or Pitfall Trap, then hit it with 2-3 Tranq Bombs. A good way to tell it is weak enough to capture is when it is limping.
As for making more videos.... nope. I am too busy playing MH3.
Lol i killed tiggy a few days ago. Now i hav trouble wit the guild urgent. 1st tiggy kill took me 15mins iron striker+ 3 shock traps and a pitfall. how should i kill guild tiggy armor weps etc thnx :)

Cool Video but this is the granys Tigrex quest which has far less health then the same named urgent quest in the guild for 5 * quests. This tigrex is a push over compared to any other you'll fight. but it also helps you get beter weapons at the same time. Can you get the tigrex skull shl from this one?????
umm mister, i know ur an expert and all so i have a question...tigrex skull shell? anyway to get it with broken face,in desert with captures? i killed 10 tiggies already ._.
Well it all depends on your luck, and how you want to go about it. Here are some stats:
If you break his face, there is an 8% chance of getting a Skull Shell in rewards. If you capture, you get a 5% chance from getting one from rewards. If you carve, you have a 3% chance from getting one per carve.
So basically, you have a 17% chance from slaying it, or a 13% chance from capturing it.
I'd say Eager Cleaver. If you are able to upgrade it to the Devil Slicer then you'd be more than prepared. I'm not sure on how to go about it so you're gonna have to look up some sort of Tigrex Long Sword guide.
Well, hang in there. Remember practice makes perfect. I don't expect new players to do this quest flawlessly, but I do expect them to get a general idea of what they should be doing.
The only weapons that are unable to cut off a monster's tail are Hammers, Hunting Horns, and all three ranged weapons. Yes that includes the Ceanataur Axe.

i thought of using full Cephalos armour with sharpening skill (decorations) defence more than 200 because I upgrade a lot and using a kirin bolt indora would this defeat the tigrex quickly???

@destinydownloads Never mind, I killed it with the Red Pincer is what i useud. Hermitaur Helm, Kut-Ku Mail Ku-Ku Vambraces, Kut-Ku Tasset, and Loprey Greves. For the Ravanger Blade all you need is 15 Earth crystals, 15 Iron Ores, And 15 Ice Crystals. That's it. i think.....

boo ya killed my first tigrex with a ravager blade+ and with full battle armor set that you can buy from that cat right to the weapon crafter and whats even more amazing is that this was my 6th try. and oh yea to all people that couldnt kill a tigrex just keep trying dont even think of using cheats, i wanted to but i couldnt but that didnt stop me thanks SpiderCVIII i couldnt have done it without you and your inspiring video. ;)

i just cant kill him i tried ravager blade+ barbarol blade eager clevaer with mafumofu giaprey and ceanaur armor and i have no idea what to try next if i focus on the tail he does that spin attack and takes half my health if i focus on the head he does his bite attack and even if he doesnt bite me i end up below him and i lose health trying to get away from there attacking his wing didnt help much. if you have any advice plz tell me and if there is any ls or gs that youd like to reccomend.

Yeah, once you hit it enough. I know I should have aimed for the tail in the vid, but unless I specifically need a Tigrex tail, I won't attack it. I mostly aim for the head.
It all depends on what materials you want/need.

Can't think of any. There's the Blue Claw Blade, the upgraded form of the Ceanataur Blade, but you'll need materials obtained after you beat Tigrex.
Ravager Blade+ is relatively easy to make anyway.

Sharpening Skill Increase (SSI) lets me sharpnen my weapon much faster, while Sharp Sword (SS) makes sharpness levels last longer.
SSI in of itself is pretty cool, but not vital. SS is very helpful. Both are not vital to a Tigrex hunt or for a GS user, but still nice to have. Plus, I believed this to be the best possible set up for anyone in that situation.

Informally known as Felyne Kitchen Buffs, these can be obtained by eating at your own Felyne Kitchen, located in your house. You have to hire some chefs first, though, and you should be able to by the time you reach Tigrex.
There are many good combos, but I prefer Meat + Veggie and Drink + Cheese.

Yeah, Tigrex was a big trouble to the most of us at first. I remember it took me 3 to 4 tries to finally kill it, tons more to be able to hunt it with as much grace as in the video.

If I recall correctly, you can get Killer Beetles from the Volcano, via the one bug spot in area 2.

That's low rank Ceanataur Blademaster armor. The greatsword is Ravager Blade+. You can easily see this in the video...

I don´t now what happend to my game yesterday but I FINALLY GOT THE QUEST DONE. You can imagine how happy I was. I screamed "YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!" very loud (really). Today I tried Akantor and he´s not hard but takes to much health with any attack. I lost because of Time Up because I went with precautions. Any idea on how to beat him quickly? ^_^

Any ideas? Sure. I suggest you use the Narga Hammer on it, with Ceanataur S. It is really easy with a hammer.

@SpiderCVIII It´s been 3 days since I beat Akantor and got the game credits. The Guild one is such a pain because he gives twice the damage and needs twice the power to beat him. Again, I tried but I lost of Time Up. I´m not the hammer type but I could try a hunting horn. Also, I got the Fatalis quest but my attacks bounce off. I was going to try ESP and Smolder Dragon sword but what do you recomend? ^_^

Against Fatalis, while in High Rank, I used full Ceanataur S and Narga GS. Aim for lv3 charges on its head when it lands. Should take 2-3 runs.

HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It´s only been 30 minutes since I beat Narga finally and now I´m screwed with Dual Tigrex, Silver Rathalos, etc. and I´m extremly frustrated. I got the full Cenataur S and upgraded it to lv.9, got Killer´s Scythle and still can do anything. In the Dual Tigrex quest they put both Tigrex in the same area. In the Silver Rathalos I spent half hour trying to beat him and he beat me up. And don´t make me say a thing about Rajang. The only one I could beat was Shen Gaoren.

Dual Tigrex is tricky. You gotta make sure to keep them separated. They already start off separated at the beginning of the quest, one on the summit, and one on the first area. Never try to take both at the same time, and bring paintballs to track them.
As for Silver Rathalos, I suggest you use a hammer. The strategy there is very simple. Otherwise, if you want to stick to GS, aim for its wings, as that is the weakpoint, unlike the other Rathalos.

@SpiderCVIII jejeje The game is so easy when you get evade+2 and a good sharp sword (I went for Great Hornfly Saber). I beat Rajang, Silver, Golden, Silver & Golden preety easily...BUT...Tigrex is Impossible. I followed what you said and bringed 15 flashbombs(made by combining) just in case. I try to go only for one but the other one goes where I am ALWAYS. Then, I use a Flashbomb to get an opening to attack/escape and either I get killed somehow or get Time Up. Need more tips. Please.

Next time you get it to sleep, do a Lv3 Greatsword on its face. That's a guaranteed kill on any post-limp Tigrex.

Good going! The strategy is pretty straightforward, so I am not surprised to hear someone discover it on their own, just takes time and understanding of the weapons mechanics.

Thanks soo much for the vid man. im a bit of a noob and ive been stuck on this for a while now. Nice advise and this vid inspires me to take a while to get some better armor and cram it with jewels. But im a longsword user so either i need to modify the stratedgy a bit or get better with great swords (currently got the Khezu Shock Sword). Anyway thanks for the vid again!!

Yes, Tigrex will sometimes pull off a third jump, but rarely. Just wait. If you see it start to turn around after the second jump, that's your signal that it's going to jump again. Tigrex will never do a fourth jump, at least from my experience.

When it is weak enough, you have to trap it with either a Shock Trap or Pitfall Trap, then hit it with 2-3 Tranq Bombs. A good way to tell it is weak enough to capture is when it is limping.
As for making more videos.... nope. I am too busy playing MH3.

Cool Video but this is the granys Tigrex quest which has far less health then the same named urgent quest in the guild for 5 * quests. This tigrex is a push over compared to any other you'll fight. but it also helps you get beter weapons at the same time. Can you get the tigrex skull shl from this one?????

Well it all depends on your luck, and how you want to go about it. Here are some stats:
If you break his face, there is an 8% chance of getting a Skull Shell in rewards. If you capture, you get a 5% chance from getting one from rewards. If you carve, you have a 3% chance from getting one per carve.
So basically, you have a 17% chance from slaying it, or a 13% chance from capturing it.

I'd say Eager Cleaver. If you are able to upgrade it to the Devil Slicer then you'd be more than prepared. I'm not sure on how to go about it so you're gonna have to look up some sort of Tigrex Long Sword guide.

Well... the ATP required is 718; you should be fine. I would get an attack boost from the kitchen or from seeds/demondrugs to be safe though.

Well, hang in there. Remember practice makes perfect. I don't expect new players to do this quest flawlessly, but I do expect them to get a general idea of what they should be doing.
The only weapons that are unable to cut off a monster's tail are Hammers, Hunting Horns, and all three ranged weapons. Yes that includes the Ceanataur Axe.
