  • is this mae singing?

  • Thank you for posting! Mae was the greatest of all them! Absolutly right what you said! She created in the 30s a new type of woman, a new style. Jean Harlow, Marilyn Monroe, Jane Mansfield und even Madonna and Lady Gaga are more or less imitations of she. But she was unique and the original. She is now an icon of the american culture and a incredible personality!

  • Read the book She Always Knew How, made from interviews she gave when she was eighty-six years old. What an angel. What an angel. She was sexy because she was wise.

  • Sex symbols had a certain elegance back then. Today they all look cheap with fake tans and hair extensions. Remember, this was an era long before surgery. Mae didn't smoke or drink, she took great care of herself. Also, she was the first woman to write and star in her own films- what an inspiration!

  • merveille ...direct jusqu'au coeur !

  • oh thanks for posting. she's a goddess. i love her so much. again, thanks

  • Ann Jillian played her life story & she was great! Ann was perhaps too pretty to be "Mae" and she sang a lot better - but all in all I could see why Ann got the EMMY nod for her fine performance. Thanks for posting the real Mae West here.

  • I love her. <3 And im 16. f what everyone thinks x3

  • @MsEvaAmore Great! I'm glad to see people from my generation who appreciate classic cinema.

  • @MsEvaAmore I'm 16 too :D

  • absolutely divine!

  • what a babe!

  • SHE'S PURE EROTIC....

  • You are incorrect... "Ten men at the door, send one home, I'm tired" They were waiting at the door of her trailer on set..... If your going to quote Mae West, please do it right..... I'm just sayin'

  • Thanks a lot, dear Masha !!! Lovely video , lovely voice!! :)

    Thank you, Engreena ! :)

I wish you both a very beautiful weekend ! :)

  • @LeCommedieDellArte

    You're welcome, thank you :-)

  • "Why suffer anything?" "This is no time to dream!".Mae West was the biz with some of the best one-liners in history. She was sexy, voluptuous and the men loved her:not hard to see why:and at that time people had never come across anyone quite like her."A dame that knows the ropes isn't likely to get tied up."

"A man has one hundred dollars and you leave him with two dollars, that's subtraction.".....That's what you call class.

  • One of my favorite Mae West lines was when someone told her a dozen men were at her apartment waiting for her, she said, "I'm kinda tired, you better tell one of them to go home."

  • I love her I seen all her movies what Icon

  • one word Mmmmmm ;)))

  • She gives new meaning to the term "hourglass" figure

  • I love this! I watched Ann Jillian in the film, "The Mae West Story", and I must say she topped Mae in the singing department - I loved how she delivered the lyrics much like Mae did, with great humor. Thanks for posting this, I love Mae West and so you made my day!

  • She was AMAZING!

My female family members all recently got together to plan our fitness goals for the new year, and we were talking about what we wanted to look like when we got in shape. They all said these incredibly stick thin celebrities, and I was like "screw that! I want a body like Mae West!"

  • Mae West = ONE BADASS BITCH!!

  • I don't like this, I love it.

  • There's no doubt about it... Alll these new starlets that think they are imitating their idols, such as Lady Gaga , Madonna, Marilyn Monroe, Jayne Mansfield and so on.. forget it... It is MAE WEST the original talented sex symbol. And no matter how many try to do her no one will out do her.

  • Mae West was different. She wasn't the dumb blonde of the fifties. She was sex personified with a smart, sassy, funny, confident, unapoligetic attitude. One of a kind.

  • Thanks for posting. A treat to watch.

  • I sing about West and others in The Celebrity Song.

  • sounds like Betty Hutton...

  • I say this without hesitation. Mae West was ethereal! Multi-talented with a beauty and sex appeal that can't be beat. She's simply the best!!!

  • Engreena thanks for the great videos of Mae West. She was one of a kind. I always loved that line she said, "Is that a gun in your pocket or are you just glad to see me?" LOL. She was also credited with discovering Cary Grant.

  • 1:31....a goddess....Woman at her most sublime...

  • omg ...i lurve it

say its quite a song hunni hmmmmmmmmm

  • oh god....sublime

  • The picture of her @ 1:26 looks like Greer Garson gone platinum blonde.

  • I like this, but having your name all over Mae is rather annoying.

    Was it really necessary?

  • I hadn't realised my name was appearing in the middle of some photos. It was a mistake I made using the annotations editor for the first time, I have sorted it now. It was hardly all over Mae, briefly over 2 or 3 photos!

  • @engreena It's right there in the lower left of the entire slideshow. Your name. Why is it necessary? It reeks of self-promotion.

  • @49kasey

It is not still there. What rockslidz was refering to initially was my name on the centre of a few photo's which was a mistake I made using the annotations editior for the first time and which I removed when it had been brought to my attention, as I have already stated in the reply to this person.

As for my name being in the lower left of the box, that was as small and as far away from the pictures as I could get it.

Why is it necessary? I'll tell you why.

  • @49kasey

Are you new to youtube? Are you not aware of those who copy other people's slideshows and claim them as their own? Many slideshow's have the uploader's/creator's name somewhere on the screen to prevent another person from claiming it to be their's. I don't take the time and make the effort to create slideshow's just for someone else to upload it as their own, it has nothing to do with self promotion. If you are not satisfied with this explantion I suggest you go elsewhere!

  • @engreena ,

I totally agree with you 100%.. I make lots of Tributes and lots of hard work goes into creating them. I just started marking my videos with my initials.A lot of my photos I created myself and some are very beautiful , the last thing I want to see is someone else getting the credit for my hard work. oh by the way this was a very nice Tribute to the beautiful May West.

  • @AdamCartwrightILoveU

Thank you, I appreciate your comment.

  • @engreena some people ...For Gods sake ! anyways Thanks for a enjoyable tribute to Mae !

  • @djscotty1111

    Thank you, you're welcome.

  • @ROCKSLIDZ

May I just say "Thank You" for your slide show? It makes me no difference when or where your name appears!

  • Wow this is great. Actually it's one of the best.

  • a good song to slow dance to :)

    x

  • I got her lp a long time ago. She sang as seductive as she looked. But she has a early song that sounds a lot like a rap song. Kinda early like Blondie did.

  • I love her secret little smile and the way she would tilt her eyes upward when she was telling you some double entendre.

  • When actress/singer Ann Jillian played Mae West in her film "Mae West" life story - she sang more like Mae than Mae! More sexy too!

  • Great interpretation! Great artist !Forever alive and vibrant!

  • Mae West - humour and sensuality, what a combination! Does anyone know if this recording is available in CD?

  • Yes it is. It's available on Amazon. It's a release of a 1955 Decca recording featuring Mae's nightclub act with her muscle men. It's an import on the Rev-Ola label titled "The Fabulous Mae West" and the sound quality is excellent.

  • great song,

  • Always new, always fresh, always great! This is the best version of 'I'm in the mood for love' I've heard. I wonder whether it is possible to buy a CD of this recording. If anyone knows, please let me know!!!

  • "We put our...WHAT?" lol. I see where Barbra Streisand got her comedy from in "Hello, Dolly!"

  • She was great. She is the original Blond Bomshell. After came, Jean Harlow and then Marilyn Munroe. But she was the sexiest.

  • I agree!!!!

  • And She Was All Natural! She Never Had Any Sergery At All.

  • she was great

  • I've been looking for this song for years! Yay!

  • mmm that's what I thought you said..What a dame alright

  • Wow!! If ever there was a song that exemplified Mae West it's this one. Such style.

    Thanks a lot.

  • this lady had style one of a kind

  • She was something...

  • What a dame!! She was fabulous.
