The game scan from hd on xbmc comes by default in dash? I thought this was only for media. I have it on my xbox but I didn't had time yet to look through this. I used to use this on my xbox. Microsoft really should have done this themselves instead of dumping the xbox to move onto the 360. It would have totally destroyed Sonys playstation 2.

I have to say that Xbmc looks nice, I still have my original xbox, use it once in a while but not as often anyway, the only real reason to modify it in my case I would say is if I could add a keyboard and a mouse and I could add a browser, so far that's not possible (if I'm correct).
I was really going to install one of this long time ago, to have my xbox as a media centre pc but the kb and mouse and no browser were the issue, still, it looks really nice. :)
@fenrriho It looks even better now. But I run XBMC on an old dual core headless laptop that sits under my LED TV. XBOX is still hooked up for games but.

Do you just burn the entire DVD into ur drive? Im running a 750GB drive with an SATA to IDE adapter in mine. @mynameismatt18 Yes it is possible to play xbox 1 dvd backups from an original copy of the game. But it's a backup. Legally you are not allowed to play backups even if you own or don't own an original game.
@SMEAGZY Use Enigmah Video Mode Switcher. When selecting a game whilst in XMBC. Use the white button and select the Play using... You will have several NTSC options and 2 PAL options to play the game in. For some games if you try and play an NTSC in PAL it will say that it's dirty and please insert the disc again. or PAL in NTSC.

@lvlitzi Whilst in XMBC go to Settings. You will be able to find the folder that the Trainers point to. Put your trainers in there. Go back to the home screen and go to where your games are located. White button on your cotroller and select update trainer list.

@RogueCommandoXD If you have the default installation of xmbc you will have the app enigmah video switcher. Fire up this app and change your video mode from pal to ntsc if you aren't running in ntsc already. Once this is done. Go to system settings / video mode and check the new options made available. Then go to settings / apperance / video and change the resolution. Then restart your xbox.

Set your xbox ip address (under: xbmc-settings-network) to be in the same range as your PC. If you are using a crossover ethernet cable set the ip address on the xbox and set the ip on your pc to be 1 number out. Eg: 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.1.2

@OnDeLorean ines been going for a year strong without chipping. as well, i have an updater that will give me the latest builds of XBMC. all i use it for is media and playing backups and emulators. never had a hitch with it.

I use the standard 10GB HDD and I don't really play games and don't rip CD's to this drive and a live TV feature is kinda crucial to me.

the thing is, what folder do u FTP the avi or mkv files to? They wont even show up for me. Only in File Explorer do they show up.

Use XMBC file manager to locate the directory in which your videos should be added. FTP them into that directory.

you can get a DVI and VGA adapter for the xbox.. it will display (upscale) to 1080p amazingly enough
i will be upgrading to the DVI cable soon for my HDTV
