I think she did an adequate job. I like her singing far more here than I do in some of her other songs. I think if you listen to the FoW version and her cover, though, you see that her voice isn't right for the song. It just sounds like her voice is making the song to "earnest" it that makes sense. I don't know. I guess I'm just in love with the original. :)

She still has a very raw street worthy, post 90's, chick styled coffeehouse kind of approach to her acoustic songwriting but it even goes beyond a beautiful woman singing a song. There were sections of her performances in these three songs where the little girl with a dream and a determined young woman took backseat to a powerhouse performer emerging right in front of the camera.

Besides being stunningly beautiful she can really deliver the goods. Mainly of what I've seen of this performance; "Thinking of You", "Lost", and "Hackensack" reveal a great deal more than the controversial sugar pop artist she's known for being.

@superted60 I think she's saying 'I'll be here for you' from another person's perspective, I think it's saying that even though she's on tour, she knows that there's always going to be someone there waiting for her when she finally gets home. Plus, it's someone else's song, she didn't write it, so she isn't going to be able to completely make the lyrics her own and make them completely apply to her anyway... if that makes sense.

I could see how that could come off as pretentious, But I like to think that deep down celebrities like to think fondly of a time before they were famous, and in this case that come's in the form of a guy from high school waiting for Katy Perry in math class to come back
