i remember my vacation to branson in like 2008 i think and it was spring break we were gonna go fishing and swimming on one of the lakes but it rained like the whole week so we just went to the titanic the ripleys the dinosaur area and the haunted maze thing and when it didnt rain we were outside playing tennis or at the resort playing the games they had outside. there was also this resturant we went to that had a fish pool outside and we could feed the fish. do you know that place?

Goes to show you how much those tourist traps are actually contributing to the people that live there. One would have thought, with all the money being made there, that Branson could afford some decent drainage. No way that place should be flooding out like that.

my grandma and grandpa live off taney we live in indiana and we go down there every year but it wasnt flodded when we went so our trip wasnt ruinedwe love branson and forsyth

i was in branson when this happened again sometime in june 2008 it was so scary we were staying at some RV park called treasure island ? im not sure what the names called but it rained almost the whole time we were there and a lot of parts were getting flooded but for some reason the park we were at wasn't

Oh, this is the March flood. Geez that sucked big time. For the first time our pond, since I was a kid, our pond overflowed and filled the dry creek. It was much worse in Branson I see. I live in Ozark.

I homeless, and a friend of mine came to visit my city because of this flooding. (He will be returning to his hometown next week or so.) He (my friend) agrees that if they had more national guardsmen filling sandbags, that he might of not came to huntsville, al.

Great video! Drove around yesterday, and water still very high. Calling for lots more rain this week. I've seen them have all 10 of the gates open once, but just for a couple of days. Never seen them have gates open for more than a couple of days. They are to have 5 of them open at least through tomorrow. Probably longer since we're to have so much more rain.

Hey... just wanted to let you know that i lived just behind the campground where he is at just around the corner all throughout my childhood life 1983-2001. Flooding was not all that common around that particular section... There were a few years the lake would crest and go even further than where it was now.

WOW...so this was a rare flood, then? I've only been here for 3 years, and we've had severe drought each year I've been here. In fact, I've run aground on my boat on this lake, and stopped going on on it as a result. I guess we won't be having that problem for awhile.

im from the hazelwood area and the last bad flood we had was in '93. no offense, but i do feel that the urgency in which missouri got response almost the next day from an unexpected flood is amazing compared to 2 1/2 years down in new orleans from a known hurricane. most will argue that a hurricane is much worse than just flooding but i think you see my point...

OH TRUST ME, you're not gonna offend me with a comment like that!!!! You're preachin' to the choir. I lived in Los Angeles when that violent earthquake hit in 1994 in Northridge. We had the National Guard and FEMA there within hours!!!!! And, guess what???? Earthquakes are not predictable...they just happen. Unlike hurricanes which hover off the coast for days before making landfall!!! Can you say: "different Administration????" Sorry...now I'll get off my soapbox!!!

I live in Sedalia MO....we got a few inches of rain which did flood local streams & rivers & closed a few roads but nothing as bad as the folks down south. Wish you guys all the best down there.

Another 4 feet higher with the lake level, and parts of The Landing would be in trouble. Just drove by there, and the Lake levels are steady. If Table Rock keeps climbing, though, the Corps are going to have to release more water, and that could spell trouble for Taneycomo residents. From the Hwy. 65 bridge today, I could see were a few people's yards had water lapping into them from the lake.

I am nowhere near Branson, but closer to St.Louis. The Weather people on KSDK, KMOV always like to say "we need rain" and people are dead and towns are flooded because of the rain. We was not under for precipitation for the year.

Weather people always like to say that we need rain when we do not. Why? Few people has died because of lack of rain in the last decade around here. Be careful what you wish for, you may get it!!!
