@malleus30 Seeing as I have no instructions, no overlays, am completely new to the game and indeed to the console itself, it's not surprising that I appear to not know what I am doing. Quite simply, I don't. That is no excuse for you to be rude.
I remember the big appeal of this was to see how many new bonus items you could get (cheese, paperclip, etc). At a certain point of frantic, high-speed playing you get to a point where you no longer get any new items.
Man you gotta get those cats stuck in a box and shut the door on them then you have free range to get all the cheese. If you wanna open the doors press 1 2 3 if you have a coleco vision controller.
If i remember correctly the arcade version had 4 buttons and 1 joystick, a button for each of the coloured doors, it's actually a great game when you get used to it, when you get to a certain level of skill you can play for hours on end on 1 credit, i played it so much at my local arcade i pulled the top of the joystick off, spent a weekend looking for something to replace it, in the end i found the top of a gearstick from a scrapped car that fitted perfectly. ah the good ol days
Even tho I was born in '88, I had a Coleco vision growing up when i was 6 or 7 and this was my favorite game. And i just wanna say, you suck! If you would've read ClassicTVMan81's comment, you would no how to open the doors.
I recorded this video BEFORE classictvman81 left his comment.
How could I possibly read his comment before playing and recording this. You should seriously try thinking before leaving rude and offensive comments.
I had 3 am paperroutes every weekend to be able to afford this when i was a teenager, and for two years i woke up every sunday morning hearing that melody when my younger sister played it and screamed - but i DID press the button! , almost every time she died.
Don´t get me started when i later got me an Amiga 500 and she started to play Giana Sisters.
( now she have kids on her own , and last x-mas i gave them an ps2 with a big pack of games... sweet revenge )
To me Exidy games always had the most anxious, ominous music and sound effects, which seemed to contribute to an overall eerie and unsettling atmosphere.
Their titles always fascinated me in that except for Venture, the company's other offerings such as Mousetrap and Pepper II seemed somewhat obscure and rarely encountered in arcades.
Yeah, the keypad buttons open the different coloured doors, and one button turns you into the dog if you collect bones. The PAL conversions of the ColecoVision games were typical of the era, big borders and running slower. I've always liked the game Mouse Trap, though.

The very last bonus was like a bugle or a paperclip. Haha... I used to trap the cats in a box then get all the pills.

Heh... such a cool story. That made me smile.
I don't think I ever saw this game in the arcades myself. Actually, until I got this Colecovision, I'd never heard of it.
I really do need to make a new video for it though, since so many kind people have told me how to open the doors.

Hehehe.
I'm guilty of getting my niece into games too.
My sister was visiting me a few years ago, and to give her something to do, I let my niece play Spyro The Dragon on PS2, which she loved.
Then a while later, I gave her my old PS1.
She's an avid gamer now, and when she's not watching Harry Potter films, plays Wii till... well... till my sister tells her to turn it off.

The game originally came with a plastic keypad insert that was color coded to show you with button to push for the matching color door.
