Hey, don't underestimate focus energy, critical hits ignore stat changes, so basically if you're at -6 attack and your opponent is at +6 defense a critical hit will do twice as much as it would if you were both at 0 attack and defense.

If you don't know, stat changes go up to +6 and down to -6, I'm not sure how low -6 is but +6 is x4, each plus 1 is plus 50% to the stat, starting at 1 obviously. So if you have 10 attack and you're at +6 attack it'll actually be at 40 attack.
