Я приезжаю в Москву каждые 6 месяцев и остаюсь на месяц, мне там больше нравится, чем в Америке, я вернусь рано или поздно. Хотя и в штатах мне неплохо, но душевно хорошо в России, я рада, что Россия живет сейчас лучше, -это заметно бросается в глаза каждый раз, когда приезжаю туда.

Был в Нью Йорке, большинство американцев хорошо воспитанные люди, и даже к самым страшным русским они там у себя относятся хорошо. In the USSR a lot of American items (jeans) were banned, and so this song kind of sings about how the Soviet citizen would never even experience it. However, rather than sing it in a sad way, the song comes across as "yes, things could be better, but we won't give up!". This isn't about hate or nationalism, it's about loving Russian culture and Russia itself as a home.
