We may as well put registry laws on baseball bats, and household chemicals too. The Right to Bear Arms is part of the American Constitution. It's there to protect it's people. The problem here people, is whether or not to have or not have guns - the problem is society itself. Our system that creates a culture of fear, abuse, inequalities, corruption and such led to the development of violence and violent personalities that led to the shootings. The guns were merely a means, it is the PEOPLE that were the problem. We need to work together the fix this broken society somehow, so people could still keep guns, but there wouldn't be any more Columbines or violent crime...

Also the one he had (I forget the name) is a very small pistol so he might have thought it was a toy. Plus when he was in the principles he drew him a nice picture. I think the reason the principle kept that in his office was to remind himself and others that this was still a child they were dealing with.
Almost everyone I know owns a gun where I live in Colorado, and there has only been on murder in the last ten years in my hometown. The one murder was done by a marijuana dealer and he used an axe.

All I'm saying is the more you publicize firearms, the more homicides and violence you are going to have within that nation. Look at Canada vs. the US: the US, on average, results in 12,000 homicides per year, 90% of which are by use of firearm. Canada gets an average of 20 homicides per year. The US has roughly 10 times more residents than Canada. Do the math (it's very basic, I'm sure you can figure it out. I'll give you a hint: 10 x 20 = 200. Wow.)
@ComedyNurd Canada's homicide rate is close to 600-650 a year for the past few years. Now multiply that by ten and you get 6000-6500. America the murder/homicide number is around 15000 and dropping. All I'm saying is the more you publicize firearms, the more homicides and violence you are going to have within that nation. Look at Canada vs. the US: the US, on average, results in 12,000 homicides per year, 90% of which are by use of firearm. Canada gets an average of 20 homicides per year. The US has roughly 10 times more residents than Canada. Do the math (it's very basic, I'm sure you can figure it out. I'll give you a hint: 10 x 20 = 200. Wow.)

@ComedyNurd Canada's homicide rate is close to 600-650 a year for the past few years. Now multiply that by ten and you get 6000-6500. America the murder/homicide number is around 15000 and dropping. Still a great difference but it doesn't do your cause any good for you to lie about it. Also, only about 45-50% of America's homicides use fire arms.

@Kello1231 The funny thing is that they didn't hand out guns at the bank. They gave a coupon to a nearby gun store that performed all the necessary background checks before giving away the rifle. Moore staged it a month in advance and spliced it with other footage to make it appear that they did.

As you said it can go down someones throat, in their head, in their heart, etc. Bashing someone with a gun is less deadly, sure, you could fracture some bones and potentially kill them by bashing, but then you'd do serious damage to your gun. And it's less effective, and more messy...

For the record that bank did not supply ammo for the guns it gave away so the only danger was if someone used it as a club. And talking of loaded guns what sort of fool would put a locked a loaded one on a dogs back, I've never loaded one untill just before I used it.
