why put headers and risk them all leaking for 5-10 horsepower?

@Sharksfan27 Because over the stock manifolds it would be more like 25hp, 2 to 3 mpg, and much better sound. Not to mention I have had 2 Lt1s with longtubes and never had a leak.

i've ran good quality headers on a lot of different vehicles and they always leaked. if you drive it as a daily driver every day, there going to leak unless you have some seriously good fitting headers and luck. When i put headers on my monte carlo, i got about .. 15 hp and not much better fuel mileage.

@Sharksfan27 I have DD 9 v8s over the years. 3 being LT1s including a 96 Caprice right now with CIA tri Ys and no leakes. The only leak I ever dealt with was on my 406 72 Nova and a set of percys gaskets took care of it.

sounds nice. if u really wan2 wake her up i would lose the cat, get some headers but i wouldnt go 3" all the way out, 2.5" would be perfect cuz u get some good back pressure.

loose the cat, you need headers to 3 inch pipes to the back, no x pipe or anything

of course not, you dont need backpressure for torque or anything like that.. its not a 300+hp monster. 3 inch is to much. Take it from a guy who took his cats off and put on dual 3 inch exhaust. Didnt sound much different then what youve got and killed performance. Keep it the way it is, Sounds good.

Well sorry i didnt mention i used to own 1985 , 1989,1992 plus 1998 caprice.. and wen its leak u can tell. sorry but i ave to say u r wrong , there might somethign wrong with ur caprice. check with ur car. or u dunno how to deal with it
