The United States entered the war when congress declared war on Japan one week after the Pearl Harbor attack. Germany declared war on the USA in December 1941. The USA was officially involved in WWII in December 1941. We didn't invade Normandy until 1944 but the US was fighting in Africa and Italy for 2 years prior.

If Germany only had to fight a one front war they would have eventually slaughtered Russia. Stalin already killed most of his competent officers. They only won in Stalingrad by atrition. Germany was fighting a long way from home and supply lines were fucked. Russia were home and didn't give a fuck how many comrades died.

@almaty0wns I don't know where you live but I'm a history professor here in the United States. The US naval base at Pearl Harbor was bombed December 6, 1941 by the Japanese. The United States entered the war when congress declared war on Japan one week after the Pearl Harbor attack. Germany declared war on the USA in December 1941. The USA was officially involved in WWII in December 1941. We didn't invade Normandy until 1944 but the US was fighting in Africa and Italy for 2 years prior.

@19834883 We didn't win the war, but if we didn't come Russia would not of beat Germany. Yeah they defended Stalingrad, with insane casualties. If Germany only had to fight a one front war they would have eventually slaughtered Russia. Stalin already killed most of his competent officers. They only won in Stalingrad by atrition. Germany was fighting a long way from home and supply lines were fucked. Russia were home and didn't give a fuck how many comrades died.

Moscow was held only by atrition. Under Stalingrad the whole overpowered 6th army of F. Paulus was crushed with a major counteroffensive that lasted to Kursk (July 1943), after which Nazi were inevitably retreating. The bloody fights also took place at Budapest and Berlin, but the 3rd Reich won nothing at Eastern Front since Stalingrad (Dec, 1942).
US played a major part in WW 2 already in 1941 by menacing Japan. Soviet military of the Far East was untied for the defence of Moscow.
