i remember this series just like it happened yesterday. those saying the nuggets got robbed simply didnt watch the same conference finals as i did because time and time again, the lakers came up HUGE in the 4th quarter. trevor ariza single handedly over games 1 & 3 to us. Game 5 was the best of the series - a hard fought, drag out battle between the best of the west. nuggets weren't robbed, lakers took it from them. they simply were the better team.

I wasn't really scared of Denver. Houston scared the crap out of me. Denver just played well. But over all, they were never really that close to beating L.A. Now Houston...They were almost therte. With a healthy Yao Ming? Who knows. We'll never know.

This game and this series is responsible for the Lakers letting Ariza go and getting Artest. Sure, if Ariza had been willing to take less money, the Lakers probably would've kept him. But if they could get Artest for the same money they were willing to risk changing the personnel because too many times in this game and this series, Ariza was out-muscled by Anthony. The same thing would happen against LeBron James, and that's why the Lakers went out and got Artest who's got a lot more muscle.

Yeah, the Lakers got to think defense with getting players since they have all the offense they need in Kobe,Gasol,Bynum, Odom, and company.

In my personal opinion, i think all teams should be build defensively minded first, then get about 3-4 really good offense players as your go to guys.

Offense wins games, defense wins championships.

Tony Gaffney looks like a defense oriented player i hope they keep on lakers roster this year.

Kudos to the Lakers for winning a hard fought game, but I'm confident that the Nuggets still have a great chance to win this series. Afterall, game 1 in staples was a game that LA was supposed to win and you could clearly tell that the Nuggets outplayed them and made some mental errors in the last moments of the game . Expect the Nuggets to go back home 1-1 and win in 6. This should be an excellent series. Hopefully J.R. Smith didn't get injured to badly.

The Lakers did pull out a championship. so what! They faced a depleted Rockets team(no Yao or Mcgrady) and basically were given the championship as a gift from the Magic(recall games 2 and especially 4 and you know what I'm talking about). The 2009 Lakers were probably the weakest championship team in the last decade. Plus, any way you look at it, the Lakers will not repeat and will get humbled by the Magic, Cavs, or Celtics. Artest will ruin their chemistry. Ha, HA, HA!!!!!!
