  • terrible bloodstain on the history of the us military.

  • i thought the americans were the good guys? they kill inocents in veitnam and in iraq the tortue and humilitate prisoners

  • Hey, a few more dead gooks, where's the rub?

  • @headoverseer Grow up.

  • @headoverseer the rub is on your mom crackerjack.

  • fuck these killings!!!

  • This guy actually committed suicide several years after this doc. was made. He was right what he said at the very end of the film.

  • War can turn the best and most honorable of men into beings they could never believe they could become - war is devastating not just to the physical being but also to the soul.

  • I don't care what the circumstances were, there is no excuse for this.

  • Horrible, just horrible what happend to the people in the village and what it did to the people who had to do this...

War knows no victors, just victims...

  • @mauhoaviolet I do not know what you say, unfortunately I do not speak Viet Namese. I tell you truly, had I been President, I would have personally handled that situation. and made sure it never happened again. Now many years later, the tears still flow. Let us, my friend, resolve ourselves to share our love of humanity. By doing so, those lovely people have not died in vain. God Bless you all in Viet Nam, especially those still scarred, mourning and hurt. Let them know, heal..Love!!!

  • For the United States. Many years have passed, so a fair trial now and reconvening would only worsen tensions in the United States. However, a great wrong was done by a nation trying to save South Vietnam from brutal communists. We have met the enemy and he is us! I think by and large we were good people. I think, however, we clearly do not punish those who perpetrate this. My Lai is a fowl smell to all who have correctly and honorably worn the uniform of the United States soldier.

  • To the people of My Lai I can say nothing which will make us any more loved or less despised, to them that remember and those who have had the horror stories handed down...the United States will forever be hated. I can't blame them, although to feel that way is wrong. But, for what they went through, I understand and accept it. For those who killed innocents in My Lai....God forgive you your glaring errorr. Please find peace from God. My Lai, survivors..I love you. Army Officer retired.

  • @giannivee1 well said man. I hope our armed forces have more like you.

  • @HATEtoFeel1 Thanks for your comments. This My Lai incident always jabs me in the ribs. It is an example of what we become when we lose sight of why we fight. The most pitiful of photos, although all are of My Lai, is the photo of the beautiful young woman; slender precious, yet dead, her brains lying on the ground beside her. Would she have had children? Now silenced forever. US Sodliers did this.. I feel the pain, thanks for your empathetic emotions as well. Let us all remember!

  • I'm not excusing any actions but soldiers are soldiers, not human and there taught kill, kill, kill so when your told finally "kill" you do it.

  • LONG LIVE THE PEOPLE'S REVOLUTIONARY VANGUARD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the massacre happened in March 16th,1968,not March 19th.Wrong information lol

  • from the moment you enter basic training, everything you are made into, leads to this,

war is cruelty, and can be no other war,

my lai happened because soldiers fight not for the nation (that's what POLITICIANS say), but for each other, for they are bothers, whose very mortal life depends on each other,

    my lai?

the US killed between 2 and 3.5 million vietnamese!

EVERY village in the whole fucking country was my lai!

  • I wonder how Faux News Company would have covered it up, I mean, covered it?

No, we have to leave it to the Freaking Democrats to cover it up.

  • I am supposing this is a BBC or CBC documentary--you don't think and American media company would have the balls t make this? Thank God, we have free press in the USA.

  • @RPenta a bbc documantary mate.

  • helstontvx what a twat you really are. these men who died for the usa! these poor men were sold a lie! as you I and now the rest of the world now know is the usa lied to their soldiers and people this whole episode in the history of the usa shows those men died foe THEMSELVES! Nobody else gave a shit. God Bless those lost on both sides.

  • Fact is these guys enjoyed it. Murderers, rapists and Psychopaths.

  • The NVA and VC massacred civilians in Hue during the 1968 tet offensive. They were also responsible for the inhumane treatment and murder of American ARVN, and allied POWs. the VC also massacred villages as well during the war. this can be found on the CBS news vietnam war documentaries.

  • @m16a1rifle when they(VC )were so bestial, who were cheering them in 30/4/1975?dirty fabrication.

  • @50poiuyt . i never did. i still detest communism to this very day!!!

  • @m16a1rifle The fate of all foreign invaders and their native lackeys in Vietnam history are the same: escape from this country in humiliated loss.

  • @50poiuyt Yes, say that to the Chinese. Communists in VN are afraid of the Chinese hahaha.

  • @ToChaMayCS Including Chinese,idiot!

  • @50poiuyt Stole my words? Stupid, idiotic communist! This guy is so dumb that he copied and stole English words from other people. Hahahaha.

  • @traninfo You are the most dumb monkey that I see on internet

  • usa bastards

  • what about Hue massacre?

over 4000 people were killed in Hue by the north vietnamese Soldiers!!

  • @chonkhongduocnick Hue "masacre" was dumb fabrication of Yanks .There were people that were killed by US bombs and victims of the war only.No one belivied in this dirty fabricatin

  • @50poiuyt Liars, any people live in Hue can confirm this. Hue Masacre is the truth. You can ask anyone who used to live in Hue. They will tell you horrible stories about communists. Communists are murderers and criminals. They should be brought to justice. Death to Comminists! Murderers. They had killed and burried alive thousands and thousands people in Hue.

  • @50poiuyt When Communists took over the South, they revenged the South Vietnamese people by starving them and forcing them to go live in jungles which they called "Kinh Te Moi" then most poeple died in the Jungles. The French treated Vietnamese people better than Communists. Communists are evil.

  • @traninfo when the nguy vichoco were controlling the south it was no better than the French colonial regime.

  • @traninfo comunists are no more evil than the us government tell you that...just for being different and having different beliefs does not mean is evil...don't be silly...to much propaganda from us makes u blind!

  • vietnam war like the iraq war

  • sad but true evey war was a waste of time

  • same people goes around preaching human rights to other countries while conveniently ignoring HR when ever it suits them.

  • Soldiers in 1968 were told to observe Geneva convention at all times. But they were also taught to obey ALL orders or they could be court martialed. They were NOT taught they had the right to ignore illegal orders.

What the hell REALLY happened at My Lai?

VC had to get support from local villagers to survive. Maybe not from My Lai, but it probably seemed that way to these soldiers. Supposedly orders came from higher then LT. Kelly but we will never know. Still it was immoral, disgraceful.

  • These murdering thugs took advantage of poor defensless people..herding them into ditches, and murdering them.Every one of them, that committed these acts, deserve to be executed in public, for the killing of unarmed civilians...America has proven itself to be the biggest provisoner of violence in the world ,this is why most of the world hates America

  • shut up

  • jennyfer1x : YOU wrote to ME,to shut up,,I have news for YOU Jennyfer,I WAS Drafted,to go to Vietnam Looong before YOU were born.I know what I saw happen there. Many Americans are blinded by patriotism,to blind to see the truth.I know the truth,I spent 2 yrs in Vietnam,The asshole in the film, was a murderer of INNOCENT peoiple,,,,you shut the fuck up

  • @b2flyer1 It happened on both sides. The communists killed thousands of civillians in and around hue. What does a VC look like. Most GIs left a vietnamese alone when they werent sure if he was VC or not, they decided to do the village, just in case.

  • @b2flyer1

in the 1980's, liberals often complained that America did not learn the "lessons of Vietnam"; they were wrong about that in one respect: the Pentagon, the Military-Industrial-Congressional-intelligence-Financial Complex and their hacks and flacks mostly in the Republican Party learned the lessons well-cover up, lie, coopt, and propagandize to perfection: Grenada, Panama, Gulf War 1, Kosovo, Gulf War 2 (Iraq 2003), Afghanistan, etc.

  • For those of you, that defend these murderers, and they're acts, using words like "we can't judge them, because we were NOT there" you should be ashamed of yourselves.Make NO excuse's this was MURDER,clear and simple. What if another country came to the US,and did this to your children? You'd see it different..

  • your absolutely right... this is disgusting, and we cannot defend them.

    But, what do you expect?

You take a bunch of 18 and 19 year old kids from their mommies and daddies give them an M16 and grenade... then have them watch their best buddies get mowed down day after day... psychologically their superiors set them up for this... they are as much responsible as the men who actually pulled the trigger.

Finally nobody said war is moral... as sad as this massacre is, in not surprised.

  • no one has any right to judge these people unless you were there, period. do not judge based on what you read, see on the tv, or hear on the radio. talk to the vietnamese survivors and soldiers to hear the truth. if not possible, then embrace the message as a historical lesson, and draw your own conclusions based on hard fact, not heart fact. like mr. simpson said, you are programmed to kill as many people as possible, and when you dont know who is the enemy, you kill them all to be sure.

  • i agree with you to many people talk bad about this and most of them just jumped to conclusions, they didnt see what realy happend there that day.

  • ridiculous comment. if i read about these ppl herding women and children into a ditch and shooting them (undisputed facts), i have any right to call them guilty. under any circumstances thats a crime against humanity, and under any circumstances these ppl must be aware of what they did was wrong, its impossible to excuse that, indeed based on hard fact. the fact that my heart hurts too has nothing to do with that judgement

  • Those unarmed kids posed a real threat, eh.

  • you have the right to judge murderers, how can you justify the murder of defenceless women children and the elderly. My Lai was disgusting period no excuses. Military training does not involve murdering civilians

  • @sexymalcom1970 military training teaches u to follow orders and to kill. not to question, not to think.

what they did was wrong, but the fault lies not w them. subject urself to the same conditions and see what happens. read asch's conformity and the stamford prison experiments.

condemn the actions, condemn the leaders/politicians, but not the men. this happens in war. it destroys men.

  • @VivekRajcoomar So a peadophile molests a child and says he cant help himself so does he deserve pity, clemency? NO. A crime is a crime a war crime is a war crime. No ones perfect but I sleep easy at night knowing i havent murdered defenceless women and children. Ps IM EX SERVICE AND KNOW WHAT THE ARMIES ALL ABOUT. You cant justify this barbaric action.

  • @VivekRajcoomar very well said.

  • @sexymalcom1970 Probably if you were in the same situation as the soldiers, you would react in the same way. What is more frightening is that the perpetrators of this massacre were normal inviduals like you and me. It was the environment of distress, war, fear and hatred that turn them into monsters. I came from a war-torn country wich had an almost uninterrupted 40 year civil war. So I know what I´m talking about.

  • @robto ive been in a war zone my ancestral hometown is on a 5 century un/declared battle field. Ethnic cleansing takes place from time to time. Im also ex service with combat experience. Ive never shot women or children and understand the extent of emotion in warfare. You are not the only person who knows of such evil. Look no excuses for murdering defenceless people no justifications PERIOD. Only cowards murder the weak.

  • It was murder- these soldiers tell you so themselves -killing unarmed women and children/non combatants- and are frank about the mad high command that twisted their mentality into doing those crimes- especially their crude commander who gave the direct order to them.

  • Ur a moron!

  • Young people sent into war, totally unprepared for the control of feelings needed to fight but not massacre. Military around the world never seem to learn. My Lai was a horrible lesson never learnt.
