  • Live trap and release is ILLEGAL. If you are not willing to kill them then you have to live with them. Of course, if you live in gopher country, that means that you cannot have a garden. Or a lawn. Or trees. Or even grow a few tomatoes. Unfortunately we have reduced the number of predators that keep their population in check (barn owls being the most effective).

  • This video does not cover what to do when the gopher doesn't die straight away. I caught one around the shoulders so it continued to breath. It screeched and struggled mightily until I found something to dispatch it with. Most unpleasant. Macabee traps are more bother, but kill quickly.

  • So i may have missed it but where do i get a few of those???

  • how hilarious I'm just lmao at the end where he says Look at all this damage !! as if he pissed in his post toasties !

  • @NONNIE357 You must not own a house with a yard. Get it dialed in, and watch a rodent fuck it all up!

  • Wow there are some really nasty people on here! The whole point is HUMANE trapping, which is what this video is illustrating, not making the animal suffer from being burnt, bleached or hit with a shovel just coz youre annoyed about your trees and feeling powerful. There are plenty of companies that use effective live traps too and they can be relocated to wildlife areas away from peoples' homes (with a license tho).

  • Why the hell do u have to kill it?!?!?!?!!? just capture it then relocate it...

  • @XxHanix They will just go somewhere else and cause trouble or go back to their homes. Gophers live in communities that can reach into the thousands.

  • @XxHanix Be careful taking that route. In some states it may be illegal to re-release trapped rodents that are agricultural pests.

  • @XxHanix - you can't. It is illegal.

  • i would keep the skin just for fun

  • Got dam gophers !! killed my FOXY LADY PALM TREE ..They all must die!!!!

  • He dug his own grave

  • Wow people are real idiots these days! I bet you are all saying "Those damn Rodents... Get out of my yard!" But guess what your in the gophers yard! that used to be his home so at least catch them live and release them in a plain or a forest!

  • @DressageGirly1 Really? LOLOLOL!! They're Fn rodents! They're ruining my yard! I'll kill them anyway I can.

  • @chuckv5150 really i think your ruining there homes!!!!!! that they work hard to make and u can be nice enough to release it somewhre else! come on do something kind!

  • @DressageGirly1 lol you're joking right?? They ruin your home, you ruin there home, and people don't have time to catch and release all of these rodents that ruin there homes. I helped my father kill one today. Filled up the hole with hot water + bleach. it ran out and we smashed its back with a 6x6 block of wood like 3 feet long. Problem Solved :)

  • @amarvel15 is the bleach really necessary??? have fun with that! i can keep to my opinion and u and keep to yours all i know is someday you mite get something coming your way :D

  • Excellent demo bud. I live in Michigan not alot of gophers here. I do trap alot of mole however. I'm gonna post a mole trap instructional check it out. My user name is mrjosh151. I'm gonna title it mole trapping 101.

  • @zem36 thats funny when i read this comment, did it really almost blew your house up

  • @zem36 the fucked up thing about it is that im tempted to try that now.

  • @metallrush77 they decompose.. Bc a body has carbon dioxide and plants use that to make air

  • i get a shovel and when they pop out of there burrow i whack them on there head with the shovel and they die

  • great traps, I've killed at least 70 gophers with these things with about 200 more to go before I'm satisfied with controlling our infestation, tho sometimes instead of a humane kill, you get a live one with it's guts hanging out...

  • Or u can use a small stick and put a hole in the ground and the put gum in the hole. They love gum but sadly it's to chewy for there system and they choke to death. Cheap and u don't find no dead body!

  • @MrSteelefire sorry but that is a myth and completely ineffective

  • What kind of real damage does a gopher do, besides putting some holes in your lawn?

  • @ScopedOUT2 They eat the roots of like, everything, so all of your plants die. I really don't care about the holes, but if all your plants die...

  • i have one in my fucking house. i think hes in my return air duct right now... i dont no wat to do

  • wiked cruel mean...nice!

  • I dig a hole in the run and set a trap, one in each direction, and set the trap all the way in the bottom of the hole. These traps work AWESOME!!! I have set my traps three separate times and the next morning I had a gopher two of the three mornings.

  • kill rodents!!!!!

  • I love animals even ghopers, but not in my yard.

  • You are my hero! Tried everything, then I did exactly as you did and I finally got him. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. Anyone considering any other method, don't do it! Cinch trap is the only way to go!

  • Best traps I have ever bought. I have a record of ten kills. Gophers were destroying alot of beautiful lawns here. Help my neighbor catch three. Sometimes it's not a good kill, the best thing to do in drown the gopher in a bucket of water. Make sure your trap is down deep enough. Additionally, leave the mound open. Gophers like a constant temperature and opening a hole causes temperature changes. You can find these traps on Amazon.

  • What about just mixing Decon with peanutbutter in the hole since you put them back in the hole anyway.

  • I bought two of these traps yesterday. Set them both and the next morning one trap was covered with dirt (there were two tunnels and I guessed the wrong one) but the 2nd trap caught a big fat gopher that was destroying my garden. I've tried many traps and poisons and this is the only method that has worked!

  • Used this trap. Bought these units online tried everything else from the home centers. The gopher came out early morning. Not a good kill he was stuck I had to set another one around his neck. He really was destroying my lawn and garden and also causing neighbors the same trouble. The kill was gruesome!

  • koooool

  • They are rodents and they kill my trees. They must die.

  • @buzzboyd they destroy my farm and i also get 2 dollars they shall die

  • it is cruel in a sense, but its a quick clean kill, and if you ever have your own yard, and have gophers attack it and care at all about it, you will understand.

  • nice trapping video say were do you get those trapps??
