To add to my earlier post: The reasons as to why Cameron left the scene 'flipped' this way in the film (or, so I have read), was due mainly to costs, but additionally, the lighting on the vessel is historically correct, coming from the southwest, over the ship's port side.

A little note of interest in this scene... the Titanic is actually reversed (though her stern nameplate appears correct). Look close at the 'flyover' scene... the First Class gymnasium entrance is visible on the port (left) side of the ship, as is the ladder to the docking bridge on the stern! In reality, both were located on the starboard (right) side of the ship! The entire boat deck is ' flipped', so that even all the deck houses are wrong! Historically accurate? Think again!

Wish Fabrizio had been in the film more. Jack just seems to forget about him after this moment! Music is great too. Even the visual effects have stood up well. Its only really the smoke that looks like obvious computer graphics to me.

It was a really cheesy film, bit it wasn't without some heart and soul and I think its length helped. Same can't be said for Avatar.
