When you ride around the circiut during the week before the race, are there no speed limits? Is the road patrolled, and how do the locals handle the one-way traffic....anyone get caught going the wrong way?
1, There are no speed limits on the mountain course at all at any time.
2, The road is patrolled by the police but you can do 180mph if you want to. As long as your not causing a danger to others.
3, The locals are great and handle it just fine.
4, There is a guy this year who has rode a Harley the wrong way twice. He has got half way and turned back. He must be on a suicide mission but will end up taking someone with him. He will be either caught or killed.
1. there are speed limits is sections, such as small villages etc such as Ramsey, Union Mills etc, but when you see a 'nation speed limit' sign there are no limits.
2. if ur doing 180mph you will get done as you are a risk to others. Driving without due care and attention, there are limits to how fast you can ride.
This was the first 600cc bike I have ever had. I had just bought it before this video was taken wasn't up to speed as I was when I sold it 3 weeks ago. I was much quicker on it when I got used to how they ride.
It was the perfect bike I have ever owned but the engine was making a horrible rattling noise. I am at the TT again this year and don't want to take a bike that is going to let me down. So I have traded it for a honda cbr1000rr.
Keep watching my videos and in about three weeks I will have more videos of the honda.
depends buddy...in a yam u get all round performance... in a suz, u have a very reliable jap made engin3...honda's are best known for refinement.... ducati's are known for raw power and pack a very very good tech in themselves, kawasaki's handle realli realli well on the track or road... it all depends wat u want or can afford...:-) cheers...
Check out my other videos mate. They're better, this video has me in two minds as to whether or not I should give chase plus there seems to be everyone in my way.
Looking good amigo. Get yourself one of the 09 R1's and they'll not be getting away from you so easy. The acceleration through the gears with the big bikes is the only thing that's letting them get away. I like the way you say " I was in two minds whether to go after them or not" It shows a bit of level headedness in you. Anyhow...... nice vid. Keep it on the black stuff.
Great vids mate! :) Nice riding and top quality. I bought a new black R6 just before christmas. My first bike was a 2002 R6 and it was great too. Just have to wait for another 3-4 months for the snow to melt where i live... Can´t wait to get that black 2008 on the road and track! :)
Great on board footage there adn not much wind roar either!. Great weather for the island as well. Nicely ridden - I saw you got caught in too high a gear a couple of times. I guess this is where the 1000's have the advantage as they literally leap forward and gain 50 yards if you drop out of the power on a 600.
I was there in 2004 and it's so liberating to be able to open it up and crack on without worrying about your license!
I literally got caught out. We had a few runs that day and I fancied a not so manic one. Then the zx10 and gsxr came past and I was in two moods as whether to chase them or just take my time. You'll see throughout the video I speed up and then slow down in two minds. Cheers for the comments mate. Check out tmy other videos mate. They are alot quicker and more focused.
The island is a beautiful place with so many fantastic coastal villages, very friendly people and stunning views. Its well worth going to the island with or without a bike.
I have a GSX-R600, and it's all blacked & stealth'd up with the stickers removed among other things! People often ask me the size, or ask "is it a thou?" and seem disappointed when I tell em it's a 6. I just laugh, & tell them that 6's are quicker on the corners, and just as quick in straight line (to a point) providing you're in the right gear! In fact, you gotta be a better rider on a 6, cos if you get the gearing wrong you're stuffed! This video just goes to prove it! Great riding man! :)
Do you know what, out of all the R6 footage ive seen for the TT you're the first to have done the R6 some justice and give it some proper beans with out gay short shifting and some pretty decent cornering although you do need to brush up a bit on the carousel abit.....take it as one corner with 4 apexes and you are sorted. Good lad!
I'm made up with your comments. I was in two moods as whether to give chase in this vid or not. You'll see in places I think to myself bollox to it and drop the revs. Then in the end I thought sod it and went after them. This was taken pretty much as soon as we got there and come the end of the 10 days we were really giving it some. Take a look at my other 2 videos over the mountain.
gotta ask dude, can just anyone with a motorcycle do the track? seems pretty dangerous, got dudes doing 280+k's, cars, and slow scooters? how does it all work? was also wondering if there were any fatalities?
Its mad but it does work 95% of the time. When you go over the mountain the slower guys tedn to stay in the left hand lane out of the way of the faster guys. Cars just get in the way really but its as much for them as it is us. There were 4 fatalitys this year, 20+ serious injuries and 40+ walk away or minor injuries. Not bad really considering there are thousands and thousands of bikes there all going really fast for two weeks.
wow!!! those stats are pretty depressing. Is there a moment of silence or anything like that for the guys who pass away there? Your riding was awesome too!! very confident!
im infatuated with IOMTT, i cant stop thinking about it or talking about it. its a CRAZY circuit. they only started televising it in australia the last couple of yrs. it is INSANE, we were watching it at work, and everyone was shaking, screaming, and covering there eyes. then i realise locals can do it too!! it would be a dream to travel there, get my hands on a 600 and do a few laps and enjoy the celebrations!! its just really sad about the deaths and injuries..
Man i'm super impressed nice riding, sound of that engine is sweet music. That R6 is a weapon in the right hands. Nice video my friend indeed. Make David Jeffries proud.
I like the random 125's you see in these videos. Some guy all leathered up trying to blend in on a CBR 125.

For the 2 weeks that the Isle of Man tt is held they make the mountain section of the course a one way road. So for about 9 miles in total.
