  • Wonderful.

  • Vous êtes très talentoso.E votre musique coule admirablement.

  • Nice piece and playing. Like your hair too ;-)

  • can you please make a tutorial ! very important

  • If you can read music, there's a free download of the piece on "Sheet Music Archive" if you search for it (it's Prelude 8).

Otherwise, I might be able to help you, though I've never done a tutorial before.

  • I really like the simplicity in the way you play it, not dripping with emotion or melancholy, just straight forward and clear.....I am curious where you are located, the US or UK ???

  • Thank you. :) U.S.

  • Hello from Canada...I hope to play this for my Grade 9 exam for my list D...I had learned Reverie, but I like this piece better, hard key but rewarding....I love your interpretation and timing and expression !!!!!! Great !!!! Dwight Morrow (55), Kamloops, BC

  • hey there - grade 9 for what? just curious. please let me know. thanks!

  • @hin517 piano exams for piano grade 9 is just 2 grades from the teachers certification (or you can choose performer) and @ dwightmorrow53 i also played this song for my D list 6 years ago and i think i was .5 away from a perfect its a really easy piece to do well on just make sure you play softly and show alot of emotions :)

  • Hi...I am learning this for my Grade 9 exam here in Canada.....it is such a beautiful song the way you play it, I like your confidence and expression......the way you play it really speaks to me, way to go.....Dwight Morrow (55), Kamloops, BC., Canada

  • god always helps us musicians lovely playing im hoping to broadcast myself shortly love your interpretation hopefully you will see my recording of this piece when uploaded

  • Thank you.

  • beautiful good jop *****

    friedhelmrss

  • Thanks.

  • well done - i loved it :)

  • So glad you enjoyed it.

  • Beautiful! :)

  • Thank you. :)

  • Besides that I enjoy the 'homemade' videos for their human touch, I realy do, your playing here is, your sensitivity to the song, how well you interpret this, is very, very, very good! And I know this song!

  • Very very good! I play this one too.

  • Thanks!

  • so beautiful a piece, it must have been written by a god and conveyed in a dream to the musical genius named debussy

  • Yeah, I would have loved to be able to compose a piece of music as elegant, fantastic and beautiful as that. Even though I am not a classical music person, I love this piece! And just so you might want to know, the mans name was C.A.Debussy. Genius man.

  • claude's genius draws from music that is ethereal and dreamlike, methinks. words are not adequate enough to express the wonder he and his music are.

  • That was quite lovely! Actually, I think it's good to keep the tempo fairly steady with Debussy. I just attended a small seminar and it was mentioned that the trend in performance these days with Debussy is towards a more even and accurate sense of time--not too much crazy tempo swings. I think one can blend tones while counting accurately....

    Good job!

  • yes, you're fully right. And sometimes it reminded me for a jazz piece. :) But I liked it.

  • You are very musical!

  • sensitively rendered - done with great sensitivity - bravo

  • Beautifully done. Keep up the good work.

    Bravo!

  • I think you're doing a pretty good job, but in my opinion you're a little too fast, and also too loud in general...it's impressionist, so dare to put a little more emotion into it.

I love playing this piece, I think it perfectly reflects the theme: the impression of a beautiful, maybe shy and a little mysterious, but nontheless playful young girl...well, that's just me. I wish I had a better piano than mine to play it on though, this piece is yearning for a grand piano with very light touch...

  • I think you're playing is very good. And I love your piano.

  • also, can't help but noticed you had the metronome on... bad idea. it's an impressionist piece. let the colors blend (don't lift up on the pedal as much as you do and when you do lift, only half lift). don't use a metronome for impressionist pieces. they move at their own pace and aren't structured like other pieces. more rubato (but don't give it a weird rubato. too many people do that). this is okay right now, but it could be 100 times better

  • I know that sounds like a metronome, but it's our wall clock. I hate using metronomes.

  • Besides, it wasn't a 3/4 metronome.

  • let go. be more free. right now, you're playing the piece very structured and orderly (like a baroque or classical piece). i also feel like you're playing too fast. let one note roll into the next when it feels like it's time too. also, don't roll the large chords, split them up into seperate chords with one acting as a grace note. also dynamics would be nice... :/ use the una corda too. i'm learning this piece, and it's beautiful, but i think you can work out all the kinks so its amazing.

  • Thanks. I tried to put some dynamics into it...maybe they don't pick up too well. I know I can work on that, though.

  • that was great! i loved it!

your piano is lovely! what kind is it?

  • Thanks!

    It's a Story & Clark Prelude. :)

  • Well played

  • instead of doing that run from e flat to bflat then g to bflat in the begginning...there are two chords....so you hit the eflat and bflat as if they were a gracenote...then hit g natural and b flat...haha, sry to throw so many notes at you...but that just my view...very beautifully played though

  • beautiful playing! I'm learning how to play this song and i hope to do it as well as you. bravo!! :)

  • ...

  • amazing

  • one of my favorite songs of all-time, well done!

  • im currently learning this song.. in fact starting today.you do a wonderful job

  • Beautiful !

BTW, what kind of grand piano is that ? It sounds very nice.

  • very very very very nice

  • Thank you for sharing this wonderful music with us. You played it lovely.

  • Very very nice - but as mentioned by a few others, it's a little hard/harsh. Listen to the Michelangeli recording on youtube and compare.

  • im playing this for rcm gr 9...

  • Aren't there only 8 grades? Or is that some kind of...internal examination of which I am ignorant?

  • Yes I play this prelude

    TOO FAST

    TOO HARD

    bleee...

  • ??? this is amazing. :)

  • no, i mean not soft enough. especially the left hand is to "loud" for my taste. the soprano isn't clear enough related to the other voicings

  • I realized that must be what you meant after I posted the other comment (I was logged in on someone else's account, as you see.) I will keep that in mind and try to bring out the right hand when I play it.

  • i'm learning this song too and its hard to bring out the right hand in it. especially because the melody is usually the top note of the chord.

  • in my opinion you play it to hard..

  • What do you mean, too hard? Too fast?

  • wow, amazing! i can play that song too, but i can play an easier version in G major not Gb major. but i think the one in Gb major sounds better

  • you have very good sensation, nice work.

  • very nice.

  • Thanks.

  • a grande piano in your own house huh? now that i envy. i have to make do with a yamaha upright although it's a good one. thankfully you make decent use of your piano otherwise i WOULD be annoyed lol

  • Yes, I'm very blessed! :)

  • Can it be played any better ? How about with your eyes shut and no clock ticking.Thank you for recording such beautyful music

  • very beautyful

  • Thank you--glad you like it!

  • Very good!!!I really like the sound you make.

  • Thanks!

  • hey, my friend told me you sent me the music, thank you so much, thats absolutely great. hope to hear more music from you soon! :) xxx

  • You're welcome! Hope you enjoy playing it!

  • thank you so much for the music :-) you cant emagine how grateful i am!

  • Oh, sorry. I forgot to give you my email address if you would please email me The Girl With The Flaxen Hair. I'll give you my friends, it would be more convenient for me. It's aya_ueto@ntlworld.com. Is that okay? I hope so. Hopefully I'll be hearing from you soon :D xxx

  • That was so good! It really was. I love this piece, it's my favourite ever classical piano piece. I'm 12 years old and I also play piano. I only play classical music (aswell as the rare bit of jazz) so would you please email this piece to me please? Xxx

  • Thanks. :)

  • thats really heartwarming

i still nid to learn a lot from you...

  • Thanks for this, it's one of my favorite pieces as well. Have you heard Joshua Bell play it on violin? If you haven't I highly suggest finding a way to. I'm also trying to play it on saxophone but it goes a little too high for me in places.

  • I've heard a clip of Joshua Bell playing it, but I've been wanting to hear the whole thing.

  • Thanks.

I still need to learn a lot, too.

  • Probably.

  • Thanks. =)

  • That was lovely =)

Good work, you play very well, very beautyful.

  • Thank you. :)
