It's so great to see how much Carl has grown. If this had been a while ago he would have asked Dave to give him Ginger's appendix in a jar or something, but instead he is just so concerned about her and grateful to Dave. So touching.

You know a lot of people say that what happens in high school isn't as important as what happens later. But this show was basically high school for me (in some parts) and that stuff does follow you. A petty fight with someone might just never be resolved and a small crush might be rekindled later on.
