  • If I find Target so much as thinks about giving money to queers, it will be the last time I shop there. Queers infuriate me.

  • Target DID NOT donate directly to Tom Emmer. They donated to MN Forward, a business advocacy organization. MN Forward donated to Emmer, not Target.

  • and micheal jackson and angelina jolie arent/werent threating children like pet as there children

  • Comment removed

  • its tom emmers . Lmao.

  • I always find it funny that people want to boycot multi billion doller companys... Target is a huge retail giant, and could care less about a few people boycotting target. Targets bring in over $100,000 a day in sales in a single store! Im sure your broke ass not shopping there wont hurt them

  • focus on the family? o.O is it really good for the family when a son or daughter comes out of the closet as gay and is kicked out of the house simply because he or she can't love who his or her parents want him or her to love? I don't think so. Is it good for the family when a mother or father has their children taken from them by force simply because they fell in love with someone the judge didn't approve of due to gender and nothing else? These people need to rethink their fucking names.

  • IM STILL PROTESTING LIKE THIS IF UR STILL PROTESTING

  • I worked at Target and I will tell you That of all my jobs I've had Target had the most Gay & lesbian workers! and to what he said on Walmart he is right on the money I got offered a job than the manager caught glimpse of my pride bracelet and changed his answer to I don't think you a good fit although Walmart denied the reason 1 minute I had the job was getting paper work next he saw my gay pride bracelet and stated "I don't think your a good fit for Walmart" Target donates to GAY PRIDE come on

  • Target is very active in philanthropy. They were in the top 22 most admired companies in Fortune magazine. Target is not evil, or anti gay. It's just a business.

  • I don't know the facts but I sort of agree. When people boycott every little thing; it takes the power away from a boycott. We have to choose our battles more wisely.

  • "..cause i know you guys like boycotting things..." lol

  • You should be a spokesman for Target!

  • okay for real if this dumbass were to have actully done is homework he would know that his name is NOT Tom Emmons it is TOM EMMER! So if you want to try not to sound like a close-minded uninformed douche then by all means keep mispronouncing names Tom Emmer was an okay candidate I will give him credit for that much But that does not mean i condone his anti-LGBT way of thinking And as for target if you feel strongly enough go ahead and boycott but dont blame their employees for the CEOs ignorance

  • How do you know? Target is currently trying to stop freedom of speech by suing a gay rights group who was getting signatures near their store, yet they let Prop 8 supporters get signatures in front of their stores in California. They may be the lesser of evils, but evil is evil. We can protest all of them. Do you work for Target? Is that your badge around your neck?

  • Comment removed

  • Greeting from California.

Emmons took third place, losing big time. Bishop Nienstadt is eating crow off

    of one of his CD's.

PS: Being against gay marriage is in fact being horribly anti-gay. What could be more important.

  • I agree!

  • Target has a written policy that it does not discriminate against its employees on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity.

  • You're right; the Target donation was an act of stupidity; not an act of hate.

If you wanna talk about hate; talk Walmart.

The President of Walmart signed a petition to ban gays from adopting children.

Walmart doesn't provide domestic partner benefits.

Walmart was selling a controversial anti-gay children's book in their stores.

  • Oh God..it's queens like you that make equality so hard to achieve.

  • You really need to check your logic. Just because Target used a smoke screen to hide their donation it doesn't exempt them from responsibility. And the fact that they donated 5 times as much to the Republican candidate who was working to pass Prop 8 says a lot. You're just trying to justify your Target addiction. NEXT!

  • Somebody obviously made a mistake. But instead of owning up and making it right, by maybe donating money to an equal gay cause, or even just coming out and saying "we didn't intend for this to happen". They chose to stay silent and stand their ground. That's what the boycott is about.

  • Whether you support or do not support the boycott matters little to most people. What does matter is that the money sent via another organization was given to some political liar who will use it against the GLBT community. Target should have KNOWN where their money was going!

If Target actually supports their GBLT communities & employees, then Target should make a statement regarding their support. Maybe then they would regain some standing in the GBLT and straight communities.

  • You're cute. Why are you taking this stand. You sound stupid.

  • Hmm... perhaps Target was not as righteous in their beliefs as I had hoped.

  • @BanGayMarriage when will you realize gumdrop - the corporate whores care about PROFITS - not PEOPLE. once we in the gay community begin to boycott and target such corporations with their homophobic policies - the sooner we will achieve our equal rights. another victory for the good guys :-)

  • I agree, the boycott is kind of pointless. But I just don't shop at Target. Especially since there is a Walmart, and a Bestbuy right next door on the same road!

  • Wow. I'm so sorry this video has been so poorly received. What it lacked in eloquence it clearly made up for in being well thought-out, insighful, and intellectual. Frankly, I wish there were more gays out there like us who are more skeptical and don't always take an overreactionary "rally the masses!" stance on every single minor issue. I really hope the negative reaction you've gotten here isn't what's caused you to stop making videos; we need more people like you.

  • target.....pro gay????? hardly! i won't buy anything there!!

  • The Target boycott is completely illogical. Target didn't know who the money was going to. Too many people are just looking for a fight without looking for a real way to progress the agenda.

  • emens? it emmers u dumb ass!

  • Gay people are aight with me, they can do their own thing, but idk about marriage thou :/

  • wrong

  • Thor! I just heard about the recent suicide at Ruckers andI wanted to give my apologies if you knew whom it was. Are we to expect a video on this!? D:

  • well i didnt know target was pro gay ! now ill never shop there , lol !

  • what the fuck why are they boycotting target just bc someone is gay even if they arent

  • You're misinformed on a great number of issues. It has just been said that corporations are allowed to give money to candidates because they have "freedom of speech". Target made an error in common sense. I am against corporations having a bigger say in elections than individuals. And when the hell was the last time you bought groceries from "Focus on the Family"? YOU get educated. P.S. "Intellectuals" have conviction, and don't allow social injustice great or small.

  • What you are missing: 1. All corporations are limited liability endeavors. They are attempts to avoid responsibility. 2. Target could have avoided this boycott by doing what you pointed out, donating to opposing candidate. What does it mean that they didn't? 3. You yourself did not make a coherent case against the boycott. You actually made a case for extending it to other companies. 4. My wife is having a hard time not shopping there. Boycotting is hard for some. . .

  • You're a fucking idiot.

  • I agree with you all the way. Thanks for your very truthful well thought out response. While Tom doesn't support homosexuality, he knows it's not the governments job to tell you how to behave.

  • do you work at a fucking target? cuz it seems like no matter what anyone says you will be pro target.

  • @natalyfatality Nope. I'm not pro Target I disagree with the Boycott on Target on the merits it is anti-gay. I don't think the points people have made really compel me to label Target an anti-gay organization. Just because you disagree with me doesn't mean I'm an idiot. Thanks for the comment.

  • idiot.

  • I looked it up and target was not on any list i found

  • @Mrcomputergeek81 Its on HRC equality index.

  • I like this video and I agree that Target shouldn't be slandered as much as they have been, but.... I'm pretty sure everyone still wants the Nick video... :)

  • The HRC score is decoupled from it's political contributions, Or was since it has been changed.

Tom Emmer has ties to a hate group Called "You Can Run But You Cannot Hide"

They advocate for execution of homosexuals.

Google "You Can Run minnesotaindependent" and look at the third result.

Third do you want big corporations buying peoples way into office?

  • @toyotabedzrock HRC has kept the rating.

That connection has been made before thankfully he publicly condemned them as well. Don't understand how that equals Target is anti-gay, maybe they need to research a bit more.

No. But a lot people who are boycotting Target because they're anti-gay would love to see Target maintain political donations, just to pro-gay candidates.

  • @thorthewhore

I'm not boycotting Target because they're against gays, I'm boycotting because they supported a campaign that was. If you give WMDs to every country because you support the idea of them being able to defend themselves equally (a just and fair idea for a perfect world), that doesn't absolve you of the side effects like the end of days or world war III starting. People have a right to be pissed at you even if your intentions didn't align with the consequences of your actions!

  • @thorthewhore Is that why when prop 8 was being passed they gave 5 times more money to the proponents than the opponents? LOLOLOL

  • If you had an ounce of sense about you, you would realize it is about the larger issue. Citizens must find a way to send a message about electing anti-gay candidates. Our dollars are our votes people. Wake up. I support the boycott 100%

  • @scar78201 Tom Emmer is the only candidate that wants Minnesota to vote on this .

Plus the governer has no controll on this issue.

  • The issue is that if you let this slide, you are tacitly agreeing that it's okay to support bigots. MN Forward does not keep it's candidates a secret. And you really need to educate yourself on the issue.

  • @GorillaDesperado The issue is Gay Rights organizations are shallow just like the rest of us. Joining a trend a whim, and not addressing real issue that are facing the gay community. Thanks for your opinion.

  • @thorthewhore

That's whole point - buy labeling this a gay/not gay issue is a pretty myopic view. The issue is much larger than that. I think Kimeron nailed it. This effects future all corporate decisions regarding PAC contributions. What's good for business is not necessarily good for the public at large; it's important to say "yes, we're watching what you do." And that's also why disclosure is such an important issue.

  • I'm really sorry that you don't get this issue. This is about much more than just the fact that Target made one donation to a political organization that funds a very anti-gay politician. This is about the new U.S. Supreme ruling that now allows corporations to pour unlimited amounts of money into political campaigns. The boycott is about sending a clear message to corporations that if they choose to get into politics, they will be held responsible for their choices.

  • @Kimeron In this video I'm talking not so much about the Boycott on Target, but Boycotting Target because it is anti-gay. The mass hysteria anti-gay Gay Inc. created over this issue perturbs me when it is really trivial when it comes to gay rights. Feel free to boycott Target on the grounds above, but most people seem to be boycotting Target because they believe it is anti-gay which simply doesn't make sense.

  • @Kimeron so what about public unions giving tons of money to democrats and and that other .org group that Mr. soros owns and funds the democrats ?

  • They didn't give it to Tom Emmers? And why are you claiming to be spreading facts when you didn't care to research Emmers. Shit, you don't even know the guys name?!? Do "me a favor", talk about Target in the present, NOT in the past. Jeez!

  • @TouchOfGreatness They didn't give it to Tom Emmers you can ask anyone. Just because I said his name wrong doesn't change that fact.

  • @thorthewhore Now that Emmers has been running ads critical of gay rights, and now that these ads have been, in part, paid for by my shopping habits, do you remain of the opinion that Target has not contributed to anti-gay rights opinion? On the bright side, at least -- Emmers is sliding in the polls.

  • oh just shush you ugly fag, you don't even know what you're talking about.

  • @patrickjaden Ya the facts I said aren't even true too! /sarcasum. Thanks for ur comment.

  • hearing this from you really changed my perspective. although I think I am going to continue to avoid Target, I appreciate the insight :)

  • You know, I stopped watching you the second you used that dumbass "cut/another-take/stop and start" effect thing. That's stupid as fuck, and so are you.

  • @joshemane Alrighty thanks for sharing I suppose.

  • @thorthewhore You're welcome. You deserve every word of it.

  • What if you're boycotting Target because your best friend's husband worked for them and got injured on the job and they cut his benefits and insurance because the doctors who worked for Target determined his back problems were "age related?" He's 32. Then they put a six figure sum toward an election. I know my story is personal but the message they are sending is they don't care about the people who shop and work for them.

  • @chronicnapper Then continue to boycott Target I guess.

  • Comment removed

  • Pro gay? Sure, they're also pro child labor, pro globalization, pro underpaid employees...and compared to wal-mart, Xee(formerly known as Blackwater) isn't that bad either. Follow the money, it is a big deal.

  • @anasynpunk I'll do homework and you can make a video about it

  • You're unintelligent.

  • @NathanHowardPortland Thanks for sharing your opinion.

  • @NathanHowardPortland

I'd say the hippies in and around Portland are the unintelligent ones. That's why your economy is in the toilet.

  • You say that you're mad that we are using youtube/facebook/twitter to capitalize, what the FUCK are you doing on youtube talking abou tthe exact same thing we are, it's just you're a trader and we are true to ourselves.....

  • Sorry I wasn't clear. From my perspective HRC is over sensaitonalizing a non-existant issue as a means to generate more interest in there group. Its a shame that they are focusing on such a trivial topic when there are people being slaughtered in countries around the world. Regardless you entitled to your opinion.

  • He's not an idiot he's obviously bright. I just think mistaken/misguided on this issue but that's just my opinion. He has people discussing this and that's great.

  • I am telling you that you are wrong sweetie. My response to you was to long it wouldn't let me post. So I'm sending you a response to your in box and posting your views and my response on my page. condensed version

Money = power. LGBT are showing corps if you fund hate we won't fund you. PS I don"t shop walmart either. They are more than anti-gay, they are anti-people

  • @Liamslass Thats an interesting opinion. I disagree, no one is right or wrong in boycotting Target, its all a matter of perspective. Thankfully Target doesn't fund "Hate" or however you define it when it apply to gay-rights.

  • @thorthewhore I disagree. The donation was made to a PAC that funds Emmers. Target states they support Emmers, he's a pro-business. Emmers clearly states on his website he's against gay marriage. He's against gays as parents too. Tom is a bigot. Bigotry is hate. Target funded hate. Target doesn't get a pass on this because they showed up at a couple of pride parades. That's advertising. They don't care about your rights. They just want you to buy crap.

  • Seriously its just a bunch of media hype, thanks for taking the time to make this video and discuss what the CEO of Target donated to the candidate and why.

  • Thank you. You're completely right.

  • DUDE....pro gay people do NOT donate money to people advocating the slaughter of gay people...get informed and sissy down a few notches!

  • Thank you for posting this video, I appreciate the links

  • u fucking gay

  • they shouldn't have to donate the money but target had one bad move I believe that but theres no way none of you hadent ever made a bad move.

  • umm who cares what you think ..get a life, give a sh*t about something

  • you're an idiot who cares what you think ..get a life

  • @anthonypi Will do!

  • Dun goofed indeed. 5/5~

  • I'm gay and I work at Target............ ummmmmmmmmmmmm Wdf are people talking about? They had a whole freaken month for Gay people! This whole thing is upsetting me, They shouldnt have to donate money to a pro gay candidate its not like they were donating the money for that specific reason that he hates gay people. That wouldn't make sense :l

  • SERIOUSLY! I've been saying this!! Finally someone gets it!

  • i now support target cause queers are fucking stupid.

  • Agreed. Good post.

  • Have you not heard that Mr Emmers supports a Christian Group publicly and financially that supports the Killing of GLBT? Have you not heard about Mr Emmers, distributing XXX rate pictures to members of the Minnesota senate of gay sex to encourage them to cut off funding to AIDS Awareness programs. Target should have learned where there donation was going.

  • @brijoli I've heard that about the Christian Group, and I also heard him denounce that group after they made that statement. I haven't about the second thing, if you could site it that would be a very helpful because I haven't heard anybody touting that around. Target did apologize, and I don't understand why I should boycott Target because they donated money to Mn Forward.

  • Very good video/comments! As a lesbian and Target employee I totally agree with you...and even if i didn't work there i would encourage protesters to look at the bigger picture. I think that's what gets lost in situations like this...the bigger picture.

  • Obama is against gay marriage.

  • LOL "Pro Gay" aww your cute !! lol

  • Do some research about Emmer and who he supports with that money and tell me he's not anti-gay. His donation to groups that have publicly supported physical attacks on gays should be your first clue. Target is responsible for where their money goes period. Whether they distribute it or not. I may support David Duke's education reform policy but if i donate money to him I'm still supporting a racist. The same is true with Emmer and his pro-business stance. One does not disqualify the other.

  • @rjp172 That's an interesting opinion on the subject. I disagree with you. I think those connections as abstract that as they're are over exemplified as a means to justify boycott Target on the grounds of Target being Anti-Gay. Just because someone donates there money to a pac that then donates it to Obama, doesn't mean they hold the same stance against Gay Marriage, or have the same stance as one of Obama's friends. Regardless enjoy boycotting Target. ^_^

  • @misslacienega When your shopping you don't give people money, its usually a transaction for goods or services. I think your thinking of charity. Regardless enjoy making emoticons, and Youtube comments. ^_^

  • @thorthewhore :)

  • Because they have no stores, aisles - or shopping carts for that matter!! YOU should do some research! or better yet, learn a little about the difference in the organizations you listed, which few, if any of us "support" in the first place, and the places where we actually spend our money. THAT's why this boycott is not only necessary, but "classy" (your words, not mine).

  • @sjenkins88 Of course I know about the nature of the organizations, I've talked about them numerous times in my previous videos. In the video I note that people should prescribe there time to fighting these organizations rather than protesting Target, if they are concerned about gay rights because Target is a Pro-Gay organization who messed up with this latest donation. Regardless enjoy boycotting/protesting Target I suppose.

  • Sad. The difference in almost every single org, or person you listed including, but not limited to: focus on the family; tony perkins; n.o.m.; knights of columbus; family research council; focus on the family; the salvation army; the national organization for marriage; the american family association - is that we don't walk through the "aisles" of any of their "stores" filling our carts with millions of dollars in merchandise weekly. "Why is that?" you ask?

  • You're an idiot

  • @erichillard Thanks for sharing your opinion. ^_^

  • Correct. Target contributed to Emmer's campaign because he is pro-business and his opponent Mark Dayton is not. It didn't have anything to do with social issues, they are simply doing what is in the best interest of the company which is headquartered in Minnesota. Mark Dayton will drive business and jobs out of the state, Emmer will not, period. This was a particularly stinging issue for Dayton who's family fortune was built on Daytons/Target retail empire.

  • go f y self

  • I work for Target, and They are (GAY) friendly. There's 3 (GAY) people I work with.

  • @MRjohnRc Did you ever think that they just put up with you....... IDK just saying !

  • @misslacienega I suggest you take a look at the HRC's corporate equality index. HRC gave Target a rating of 100% in 2009, and 2010 when it came to gay rights in there corporation. Also its important to note. Target has benefits for its employees, in same-sex relationships. ^_^

  • @thorthewhore lol the power of google ! lol ^_^

  • thorthewhore - But that doesn't matter to Far Left robots, like MoveOn-ites. Any walking out of lockstep & they harass, intimidate, agitate & smear. Thanks for a voice of sanity in this stupid boycott. It may give them goosebumps about themselves that they are doing something supposedly charming, but they end up not being wonderful or fabulous.

  • Regardless of what politician Target gave $ to- CORPORATIONS GIVING $ TO POLITICIANS IS NOT IN THE PEOPLE'S BEST INTEREST!!! It circumvents OUR will! When we buy from companies and they can use that $ to influence OUR elected officials it is not in line with rule by the people or by the majority - it is rule by corporations, by the very few at the top of the corporation- THAT is whose will is running Washington, and it enables unchecked greed and corruption. BOYCOTT AWAY pro or anti gay!

  • @pmryan25 For those who are against corporate donations it would be in there best interests to boycott them, yes. One corporation to take major note of though is NewsCorp, owner of fox news, and other proprieties., who donated over a million dollars to the republican party. I'm not positive on that, but that's what I believe what I heard.

  • @thorthewhore caveat for fox news, although they are anti gay rights, they are pro republican/conservative for many reasons the least being gay bashing. Most Christian's opinion on gay marriage is not to practice personally or dislike PDA, not whether healthcare benefits are extended. Of course there's always one crazy in the bunch that is louder than the bunch itself that radically proclaims hate speech but really it's just that redneck in the members jacket, ignore him!

  • It is stupid the people how are gay think every one has to be with them and if they dont its wrong, well its not wrong, people have an opinon I say Go shop at target even more.

  • I think the anti-gay isn't the only issue man. Its the forwarding of money to political institutions. People feel this is wrong, because it gives corporations all the power. They are right, but this is nothing new. Almost all big corporations do this. In fact, some companies will "buy" both candidates. People need to realize, politics are not the solution to anything.

  • @baphometstech Agree that political donations from corporations aren't conducive to our democracy. I'm just noting that characterizing Target as anti-gay is a big of a stretch in my opinion. So if your boycotting Target because of there a corporation donating then that makes sense to me.

  • This is a dumb video. Target donated money to a extreme conservative. How could you support companies influencing our election.... and to answer another question FOX gave 1 million dollars to the republican party... we will see a lot of this crap happening. Do you think corps should influence our elections with infinite amount of funds?

  • @1986hangman Target gave there money to Mn forward, which then gave it to Tom Emmers, who is against gay-marriage. I think calling Target Anti-Gay is baseless, and that is what this video is about. To answer you question, no.

  • @thorthewhore

Than if you think corps shouldnt be putting ridic amount of money into elections than why are you so up in arms in their defense.

  • @1986hangman Up in arms? If you watched the video its mainly a critique of people falsely labeling Target anti-gay, and how many gay organizations have capitalized on the drama. I'm against corporate donations to political campaigns, but I just had to to make a point that Target may be "messing with democracy", but when you look at the facts there isn't much there when it comes to Target being anti-gay.

  • @thorthewhore

Yeah that makes sense... target giving money to fund a campaign that is against gay rights means that target is not anti gay... that makes perfect sense.

  • @1986hangman Well I think Target isn't anti-gay because they have participated in pride parades, and HRC has given them a 100% rating in there equality index. Regardless you can intruprt the facts the way you want to, but from my perspective its quite clear that Target is pro gay, and this this donation is them messing up. Maybe you should watch my video in its entirety.

  • @thorthewhore --

i think the name u cose for your self shows ur ignorance. I guess there are still many queers like you left, who like being spit on, don't want equality or respect.

  • @jerrydoubleu I think the fact that you aren't dealing with the topic at hand shows that you don't really have any point to make rather you just throw insults against a persons character based off of a youtube username, whatever floats your boat. Regardless your entitled to your opinions, and perspectives. Its just a shame there are so many people, who when challenged immediately turn repulsive, and illogical.

  • youre an idiot. and cut your hair, you look like a douchebag

  • @tboy13084 I don't really think I'm an idiot, and I quite fancy my hair. Hair length is not a defining factor of being a douchebag at least according to my definition. Regardless thanks for the comment! ^_^

  • you sure are cute to be so stupid, so sad so sad

  • @kiahofdixie Don't worry I'm not stupid, I just express opinions that people don't quite fancy. Regardless thanks for the compliment, and negative remark. ^_^

  • @thorthewhore I wasn't rude. it is the truth.

  • @rookiekf123 No doubt its your opinion that its the truth, and its my opinion, and probably most others that calling someone stupid is rude. Regardless you entitled to your opinions on whats the truth, and whats not. ^_^

  • you look pretty stupid

  • @rookiekf123 At least my video isn't stupid.

  • @thorthewhore actually your video is stupid too

  • @rookiekf123 Everyone's entitled to their opinion no matter how rude it is. Regardless thanks for the comment!

  • Alright this is th REAL ISSUE

Target's messing with our democracy they cant get in the way of our election!

  • @MrTheRyuk Of course corporate donations are horrible, I'm just upset with mainstream gay organizations, and how they are treating this issue. Thanks for your comment. ^_^

  • Thor i wanna blow u hehe

  • dude...it's Tom Emmer....OMG! dude, get educated...you don't even know the guys name. Let's Boycott them all.

  • @altay111 I said his name wrong, that doesn't mean I don't know his name. Regardless thanks for the cute comment. Have fun I suppose. ^_^

  • target didnt intend for that to happen (the real reason was something about the candidate being for tax cuts)

even then, I think even if people knew that, they'd still think "The money still went toward the candidate in the end, so we should still boycott target to make sure they lose the same amount of money they gave, or more"

but i think i'm gonna shop at target. Oh& any company deceptively called "Family this" & "marriage that" are against gays, so I wouldnt use them in the 1st place.

  • You are right!!

  • Str8 person who just heard about boycott.......this is the first video that actually explains the boycott in a clear manner.......I always want to hear both sides of the story........good job

  • @Nelletunes you should actually read some news and not rely on ill-informed children to explain it to you.

  • the candidate that target supported said gays should be persecuted, jailed, made ex gay.

Don't make all other gays carry your water.

  • @jerrydoubleu Do you have a source for that quote?

  • @thorthewhore First, shopping at a store implicitly means you like them. We're a better society if you broaden your view to include everything they do. Second, Tom Emmer isn't just against gay marriage; he goes much further into the offense against gay rights. Look it up. It's not like the politicians that sit on the "no comment about gay marriage" issue.

  • @quill345 Like I said in the video he doesn't seem to be any worse than Mike Huckabee or John Mccain. Regardless have fun boycotting Target.

  • Yeah. You should stay out of political talk. "Blab blah blah." What an ignorant fool.

  • @CymHastings That's a cute opinion. >_<

  • @thorthewhore I'm sorry. It was a bit rude. I apologize. But if you're to take on a big topic like gay rights and the corporate funding (direct or indirect) of a candidate who as expressly voice his intention to support legislation that would relegate homosexuals to permanent second-class citizenship, then you should try to be a little more knowledgeable on the topic. I'm sure you're heart is in it, but it's a serious subject.

  • @CymHastings Its a serious subject. Boycotting Target on the grounds of corporate donations to campaign makes sense, but painting Target as an Anti-Gay organization is quite the stretch. In comparison to many other actual anti-gay organizations Target is an angel, and a lot of this debate should be directed towards those organizations as apposed to Target, when it comes to anti-gay corporations. For me its a shame HRC isn't focusing on more important corporations. Thanks for the comment! ^_^

  • @thorthewhore HRC and others are focusing so much attention on Target because Target has demonstrated that it CAN hold responsible, pro-gay rights positions - and it lapsed. The boycott is like a probation which gives Target a chance to correct itself; Target flatly refused to apologize for the donation OR make an offset donation to a pro-gay rights candidate. Walmart is a lost cause - it will never adopt pro-gay rights positions. Concerned citizens should have been boycotting it for YEARS.

  • @CymHastings Pretty sure Target has apologized, but I'm with you for them donating a sum to offset the donation as I said in the video. Walmart is horrid I'll agree to that, though boycotting Walmart's biggest competition(Target) isn't the brightest idea for gay-rights when comparing the two companies. One could say its picking a lesser of two evils, but I don't think Target is evil, they just "done goofed", but regardless everyone is entitled to their opinions on what deems something anti-gay.

  • @thorthewhore I stand corrected. A verbal apology (of sorts) was released, however, Target has refused to take any corrective measures to address the "ill" it has caused by the donation. Saying "I'm sorry" in and of itself does not undo the money the anti-gay rights candidate now has. There are alternatives to Walmart and Target; boycotting one doesn't automatically benefit the other. One can continue the Walmart boycott, start a Target boycott and still find a place to buy cheap candles.

  • explain away the hate. good for you. split hairs all you want. hate is hate. NOT THAT BAD? WHAT?
