I hope there are some explanation on the boiler failure rather than just the animation - is it due to safety valve failure, tube rupture, etc. BTW cute video.
my uni lecturer would not let me do an acurate failure cus its not aesthetically exciting enough.The idea of this is that the stays at the top corrode to a fatal extent. How ever this sort of rupture is modled on railway steam engines.
HMS Thunderer is kind of close to it. The common thing to happen with 2 door scotch boilers of this type is for the fire boxes to fail and the presurised steam and water proppel them forward. I have been informed that they have been known to breach bulkheads and get wedged in the bow of their ship.
