All you have to do is just hammer on and pull off on every note. It Will Sound if you just hit the string to the frets

no, actually, you are supposed to make the sounds with just a hammer on, the pull off is also used in the song but not everywhere.

they're called harmonics. its a really interesting technique, it helps you hit high notes like what when the fretboard would not necessarily allow you to go any higher up the neck.

hold your finger ON the string without pushing down over frets 5 7 or 12 to practice simple harmonics... remove your finger as soon as the string has been plucked so the note can 'ring out'
