I like Noel and all, but why is he ragging on Keane? Why does a band have to be a part of 'youth culture?' When I was at school, which was only a few years ago, most of the kids there were complete nob heads, I didn't want to be part of 'youth culture' and Keane write great songs whether you like them or not. Also, Oasis are a total money making machine!

As soon as someone "Does a Robbie/Lily" (goes to rehab for spurious reasons) I lose respect. Its not like Tom was Pete Doherty was he. Its an insult to people with real problems when they do it for fame/credibility/lack of stamina.

He championed Ocean Colour Scene. He only trashed bands that he thought were shit, which I think as the front man of UK culture he was entitled to do.

@donpinguin2 Fortunately for me I didn't know who Arctic Monkeys were before that cold Monday night in March 2006 because I wouldn't have been able to handle all that, but they were so good I bought their first cd shortly afterwards. It was the only time Arctic Monkeys ever opened for them I think, I consider myself very lucky.

He should make up his mind what ground he's standing on....."one of the lads" or "pop star".
Personally, I think they're a pub rock band and should go with the "one of us" image and get their hands dirty at their gigs, packing things away and carry boxes. Then i'd know they were genuine.
