Seriously guys, get Reason 4 if you want to make drum and bass/trance/dubstep. Ableton live is very good for live sets (like its name) but i don't think its the same class as reason for making these kind of genres.

@Saxophonic reason 4 is a good loop making tool but it suffers from the same problems as the earlier versions.

Everything made in reason sounds the same, thats why they had to put in a mastering suite. Dont get me wrong, i love reason for its useability but it fails for me with the lack of VST plugin support, its a good learning tool.

Abletons strength is that it is similar to reason in the ease of knocking up loops quickly but it is a true VST platform and not limited to internal devices only

ease off on the compressor, try using it on the bass part only and not on the master output. All that kick ducking may be fashionable when using a 4 on the floor beat but it makes a drum and bass beat a painful listening experience.

the drums are too simple (which is highlighted by the intro where it starts with the simplified drums), the chord sequence is pretty dreadful, the instruments used are questionable and the vocal is in completely the wrong key. but its probably better than what i can do.
