    Sorry

  • I love this. I am 1/4th Irish and i think this really is a true Irish Beauty

  • She gave me dance lessons last summer! She is so amazing :)

  • just inspiring. trulyamazing. this has changed my life. i have decided to not kill mysle fand raise my family of 7 children.

  • I prefer Jean Butler

  • The song is called "King of the Fairies", and the dance is called, "Dance of Love".

  • This is my favourite dance of hers, and I love the haunting melody she dances to? Anyone know what it is called? And what is the dance. The whole segment is genius.

  • Just Amazing.

  • I want her flexibility. And rhythm. And everything else about her.

  • i love bernadette (: she's such a fantastic dancer, and totally sweet! she was my instructor at camp rince ceol this past week. it was such an honor to work with her!! this is one of my favorite pieces of hers.

  • I want to have her legs and feet...she's awesome :)

  • She taught me Blackbird :D

  • Linda demaiiiisss!!!! ♥

  • My favourite dance of Bernadette's - it is so haunting - i find myself humming this tune all the time. I am Greek so appreciate a good dancer when i see one. Good dancers are always made much of in my culture.

  • this dance is a hornpipe slower than usually speed.

  • oooo shittt, she's gooood

  • can anyone teach me more about this dance?

  • i know her she used to live beside me

  • really !!!?? u met her in person ? where did she live ?

  • @AltafsEYE If she livednext toyou..I suspect there was a wall and buikding between you!

  • this girl really knows what is Irish dance all about... Mná na hÉireann :) good job!

  • Wow, thanks for putting this up man. And in such good quality! I have the Feet of Flames show on VHS, but I played it so often already that it's in black and white now and it's 'snowing' all the time. XD

  • no okay those shoes dont allow you to go up on your toes... your practically doing it by yourself... the shoes arent helping you at all!!!!!!!!!!!!! and you can start out at any age you want... but its better starting young... and yeah it messes up your feet MORE THAN BALLET!!!!! and its ALOT harder!!!!!!!

  • Ballet dancers can go up en pointe in soft shoes as well and it isn't that painful. Most professional dancers can do that.

Now explain to me how the hell you guys go up on pointe and then dip your feet to the sides without breaking or rolling your ankles. That's totally nuts and makes me nervous just watching it! How do you train for that?

  • CordsZ - that's called a rock and it' s a trick of the eye, mostly. The back foot is always doing the supporting. While the front is rolled over, the back foot is nearly on the ground, with the ankle turned out for the illusion. Doing it on points takes years though, and only amazing dancers make it look as easy as Bernadette does. God, she's on time with every little noise her feet make... incredible. Heavy shoes make a sound when you breahte, almost. She's amazing.

  • She's doing rocks, and she isn't all the way up on her toes when she does rocks; she goes down to releve and *then* does the rocks. And we practice them on barres, going only a little bit to the sides, and get farther down as our ankles and toes get strong enough to handle it by themselves and get lower and lower.

  • can anyone tell me what type of shoes they are to allow her to go on her toes like that? x

  • It messes up your feet as much as any other type of sport, or dance. Its actually much safer then things like cheer leading, and is a little bit less rough on your knees.

    A little bit.

Its all about how you treat your body.

And I started dancing at age 12.

You are never too old to dance.

  • irish danceing like in that the pros do is meant to use far more energy than playing galic an all

  • does irish dancing buger up your feet like ballet?

and can you start aruond 14? or do have to start really young to be any good?

    x

  • Irish dancing can effect your feet yes, if ur carefull and look after them then it's not too bad. and most people start at the age off 4/5 but you dont have too. some people start older.

  • I'm an Irish dancer... It doesn't really matter what age you are... You can do Irish dancing whenever you want! People that are good have to love it from the heart and really put in to it... I know someone age 45 who Irish dances with her daughter!! If you take care of your feet they will be fine... I am in prelim champion level and Iv'e been dancing since I was six and now i'm in my teens and Iv'e never actually got anything hurt yet.. Hopefully not ever :)

  • for the girls yeah.....ive seen sum hideous bunnions, but guys are fine!

  • a=she should have done this on superstats of dancer...it would have blown every judge out of the water!

  • I Soooo Wish I hadn't Left Irish Dancing :(

  • Wow !!! She,s amazing !!! And very beautiful :]

  • Comment removed

  • thats not her real hair is it?

  • They added to her original hair which is blonde and was curly

  • this is my favorite dance of hers.

  • aaah that's my set!!

    also I WANT her clicks.

  • Dad died in Sept. 2005...after Mom died in 2004, he missed her so much...he had a stroke and died on 9/7/05.

  • I am really sorry to bring that up. But I am glad you have sweet memories with your dad. Hope your parents' soul are resting in peace.

  • I'm so sorry you've lost your parents.I hope this song brings you good memories.

  • My father had early stage Alzheimers...I showed him this dance a few times and it brought him such happiness to see the beauty of the dance and hear the gorgeous music.

  • Irish music/dance truly touches people's heart...They mesmerize the audience...wish I wud have grown in that culture..

btw, hows ur father now ?

  • the costumer is under the direction of none other than michael flatley.. celtic tiger.. it gets worse.. so much for irish tradition

  • oh no..so he CHOSE to wear his costumes?!

sometimes its hard to watch him dance because his outfits are soo ridiculous!

hers is alright, but i like the ones from "feet of flames- cry of the celts" ..the blue ones the girls are wearing

  • Lovely, but it kinda bugs me that she doesn't dance it as a set, just as a dance.

  • She's a fantastic dancer, but they made her look really trashy here! That skirt is unpleasantly short. Also not a fan of her final pose! What's that about?! Ah but you gotta love her.

  • Tune is King of the Fairies..doesn't really suit a woman dancing to it but it hey it works

  • really? I've only seen girls dance it, but i suppose in my region it's not really a popular set.

  • Any woman can hold this song better than a man can, better watch it, since she is right now.

  • i love this!!! i am an irish dancer and this dance has always brought tears to my eyes

  • wow...good to meet an irish dancer at last...( met other one of Scottish descent)..

i am a big fan of irish music culture...need a lotta to ask about irish dancing. will send you a pvt msg.

  • yeah sure, sounds good :)

  • Charming little dance.

  • I CAN DO THAT EXACT SAME THING! I have been dancing to this for over 12 years! I wan to show Michael Flatley someday. I have always promised myself that I would be up on a stage doing a solo by myself like that. And I am getting there. Thanx for posting this.

  • wow...good to see a post from a tap dancer in my video.....do u hav video of ur perfermance...?

i am huge fan of irish tap dancing....still waiting to attend a michael flatley show.

  • Not yet. But I was going to post one of me doing that dance in like a month...or sooner. But it might take a little bit longer because I am getting new Irish hard shoes. So I might have to work into them because I can't fit into my other ones because they are too small. But I will definatly have a vid of me doing this sometime soon:)

  • cant wait to see tht...

so who is ur role model.... Jane Butler ?

  • Um...I would have to say Bernadette or Michael Flatley. Those are my top favorite.

  • hey horsegirl, can u recommend me some sources of irish tap dance videos( others sites, DVDs).

I am just relying on youtube.

  • I am so sorry! The person that relplied to that (jerrylewislover) that was on my other friends account. Sorry! That was me that replied. It was my friends account.

  • its ok

  • wow she really is amazing!! and beautifull too!

  • Bernadette is such an amazing dancer! The fact that she can teeter on her toes for so long is incredible!
