@Desertphile Spirit Lake the leader had a problem with this aircraft and his alerons became jamed and he didnt realize it untill it was to late the 3 other pilots concentrate on the leader so they followed him into the ground in the diamond its impossible to seperate that close in a emergency but thats how t goes in that business its a hard pill to swallow but the USAF Thunderbirds are the best inthe air.
@Desertphile I was an Air Force nurse when this accident happened. Remember it like it was yesterday. One of the pilot's wives had just had a baby and I worked on obstetrics ward and it was so hard to deal with. He was ecstatic over the birth of his daughter. Thank God he got to see her. God bless the families of all the pilots.
What happens is that Air Force pilots take less time to learn than the Navy pilots, that's why the training is shorter...lol...and the reason they can land in a shorter distance is no brainer, they use a cable to land in that short distance and a catapult to take off...helloooo...beside, we like to use the whole 3,000 feet of runway....that way we can build nice BX, Burger Kings, Pizza Hut, Fitness Centers and oh yeah, nice spacious rooms and houses around all those 3,000 feet..Go Air Force.
The non-G-suit certification required for BA flight status includes very short exposure to 8+ Gs. While the upper G limit during an actual show is slightly above 7, a loss-of-control situation might expose the pilot to a higher G-load while trying to recover.
Looking good but Blue Angels have always been a superior team:
1- Angels fly much closer, 18". TBs can't fly that close: G-suits would touch/affect control stick inputs. BAs build up G-tolerance to be able to perform without them. (The unfortunate reason why there hasn't YET been a female BA demonstration pilot; none of the female applicants could withstand stress of 7-9 Gs.)
@sign4deaf But the TB's fly alot harder than the BA's. Like there a more of a hardcore team the BA's are graceful. Its like comparing a girl to a boy when it comes to comparing the two teams.
@619viewloader Do you fly?? Both are good teams. My Son is a Pilot in the AF. The amount of studying they have to do is unbelievable, much less all of the Flight hours they have to put in.
2- BAs are better pilots. Navy and Marine aviators train 2.5 yrs before squadron assignment; USAF half that. Also, USN/USMC aviators are qualified for toughest challenge in all of aviation: landing on an aircraft carrier. While USAF pilots need 3,000 feet of stationary concrete runway to land, Navy/Marines go from 120 kts. to 0 in less than 200 feet and 2 seconds.
(There's a reason why our Navy wings are made of GOLD.)
Can whoever uploaded this make it available on moble? Want to watch it on my iPhone.

hornets can't do more than 7.5G i think?

@simf6 Certified 8G I think, but they can do 10g, flight computer might not allow you to do that though.
