To be honest, the way I see this argument is: Sport Bike riders like to corner quickly and get away fast. Cruiser riders don't care about speed, only the experience of riding and being free on the road. I may be wrong, cause i'm quite clueless. I'm just speaking from what i'm reading. I'm going to be getting my first bike next year, and i'm more interested in riding a cruiser. My dad drove cruisers for many years :)

There is a fairly large group of idiot squid/poser types that care more about looks and trying to learn wheelies than what their bike is capable of, or learning how to throw it into a corner properly. But that's true for cruisers too, no shortage of weekend riders goin for a "look" there either, hahahah

Of course a lot of people don't realize cruisers wave lower and inside compared to most sport bike riders. So, you might be missing the wave. Whatever you're riding, have fun!

I have to disagree with your commentary my friend. Sport bikes own the twisites. Cruisers own the freeway. Why you ask? because us cruiser guys can ride the freeway/highway all day long, while your neck, back and ass will be sore almost immediately. Who owns the street? lets call it a draw. You can split the traffic better, but we get the style points.

this is why I dislike sport bike riders as they are very competitive on the road and also very bias against non sport bike riders. I doubt the Harley riders cared what kind of bike the sport bike rider was on, but the sport bike rider obviously had some comments to make about the cruisers. I ride both and could care less about which is better in someone else s opinion. I just like to ride and love motorcycles!

I think some of the cruisers that almost look like a hybrid cruiser/sport are pretty sexy.

But other than that I think sport bikes win in every category except perhaps comfortability.

They're higher performance (if you don't abuse this that actually makes things safer). They look sexier, the gear that sport bikers where is sexier too.

I think some of the chopper/cruiser riders look like they belong in a domination fetish video with all the leather they're wearing.

oh god i hope you kidding... im no expert but a cruiser is NOT faster in a straight line, they would be lucky to do 100 mph.. On the otherhand any 600cc sportbike can do 150+, and 1000cc; 170+ mph. Cruisers are awesome, but sportbikes are superior is every aspect of PERFORMANCE.

I love Sportbikes too.....but I got to be real. Cruisers are lot more chilling. With sportbikes you have to be alot more careful, cause I my country they steal those things like as if they were diamonds. They may even attack u, and take your bike away from you. But You may leave a cruiser outside your yard unprotected, nobody even touches it.

What the hell are you talking about. Have you driven long X-C for days. I love all bikes but full(er) faring, wide seat, more laid back upright seating with legs stretched out more, there's no doubt about it. Most sport bike riders ride local and pose. A 1100R BMW is a nice compromise. If going for a day ride in the canyon than a little 600cc sport bike.

sport bikes have a bad rap for safety because of the inordinate amount of youthful riders that are attracted.

Sport bikes are Way fast but there are some cruiser that will amaze you with their speed.

Most used sport bikes with 10,000 miles are considered beaten by a prospective buyer. a cruiser with 10,000 miles is just broken in. Bikers on cruisers look way tougher:)
