  • The ensemble sings something in Zulu I think.. And it's when rafiki sings ( it's the circle of life!) it sounds like Bala king onomy Aka le. And I am for sure it's pronounced like that. If anyone knows what I'm talking about please let me know what it means!!!

  • I love Africa! Because of their culture, their music, and their AMAZING animals. Who's with me?

  • is the beginning of the song from some origninal african chant? cause i would like to hear the whole song of that introtune

  • @BoerVis If I remember correctly, it just means something like ''A new king is born. It's a lion.'' or something. The sentence that they keep singing and repeating when the song itself starts means ''it's a lion''.

  • @BoerVis It means Here comes a lion, Father

Sithi uhm ingonyama Oh yes, it's a lion

    We're going to conquer

A lion and a leopard come to this open place

  • 2004 New York City along with the revival of FIddler on the Roof made my summer that year in an otherwise terrible year. Just superb

  • I can't stop replaying the beginning :D

  • these costumes are dynamyte!

  • I saw this sunday it was really amazeing the costums and the pupets plus the actors everything was just so wonderful brings back memoires.

  • I cant believe that people dislike any song from The Lion King. Circle of life has so much meaning to it.

  • i went to this ;D

  • I cried when I didn't have the money to get the ticket. Lion King is forever the best movie/play in the world.

  • Someday, we'll all take our children to see this. And in turn, our children will show their children and so continues the great Circle of Life.

  • @rihanna7mad22 I agree with you 100%, I had to chance to see this live in London and from the first note of the opening chant it was the most captivating and beautiful production I have ever seen. • @cpgurl1121

Nope. Matter of fact, I LOVE her as Rafiki. Makes me wish Disney would have made Rafiki a native instead of a monkey.

  • @CosplayCore shes a native? i always thought that her makeup represented the baboon

  • i love the lion king who's with me?

  • @jujubean735

I don't think its my favorite anymore, but when I was little for a long time, it was my favorite. :3 And I still love it no matter what. I can't wait to see this one one day! :D

  • LOL at the baby lion! wtf!

  • @Cleo4696

What do you mean wtf? Its Simba as a baby. It was the puppet they used during this song on stage. At first, I thought Japan started that trend, but now, I don't think so. But I love the way Japan made their baby Simba, still. :3 Hes WAY cute!

  • I will be watching this with Justin Bieber and I will feel so excited to watch this with my baby!

  • the two people that disliked this must be deaf.

  • =)) tears....

  • @r3r3r3r3r32 I cried when I saw the beginning of the play in Broadway.

  • Last year, I went to New York and saw this on Broadway. This has to be one of my favorite Broadway musicals EVAR. It brought me to tears. The only other musicals that have done that are Wicked (During "For Good") and Les Miserables (During "Castle on a Cloud" and "I Dreamed a Dream"). This is a truly amazing show worth seeing, without a doubt.

  • Magic... Just plain magic when listening to this song, or even watching this movie, or even on broadway.. I love this movie in every way...

  • @JesusCallingDevo1 zomg language barriers )':

i will figure this out somehow! :D

  • @JesusCallingDevo1 oh! then it is the same lone as the original version from the movie! why does the person from the movie pronounce ingonyama differently though...? :-/ hmmm

  • i love this version! but the thing is... i loved the original movie opening version where the first words spoken sound a little different... it sounds like "maaa zi penyaaaa" (forgive the mispelling). to me this sounds more powerful and striking because of the way the pronunciation sounds. if anyone knows, please let me know what the difference actually is!
